  1. Small update: Please include a link to the logo of your team, if available.
  2. Hey everyone, The first ECL season on PS4 is completed and we would like to thank everyone who participated in making it as interesting of a season as it was! We are currently working on improving the experience for everyone before we head into the next season. Midway through the last season, we came up with an idea of collecting feedback anonymously in one central place, to encourage you to give us your impressions, opinions and suggestions without having to fear some sort of community 'backlash'. Discussions on the forums can heat up from time to time, with very different opinions on different questions, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it makes it hard to follow though, and we also understand that some of you simply do not have the time or passion to jump into these discussions. That's why we decided to take a more analytical approach, which also makes it easier for us staff members to keep track of what you - the community - really value. This feedback process will later include a general survey, but for now, we have created the following tool: New Feedback user account We have created a new user account called @Feedback which will be administrated by @gzell60. He will take care of all the submissions and add them to an Excel workbook, to evaluate your input accordingly. To give you an impression, here are a few things we take a look at: - Input per category (will be explained below) for priority reasons - Status tracking (all feedback will be evaluated by our staff, and we will also keep track of what has been implemented) - Participation rate So, how do you submit your feedback? Simply create a new private message, use the PM title to add a category, and send it to @Feedback. Choose one of the 3 categories: - ECL: All suggestions regarding the ECL tournament (e.g. format, rules…) - Website: All suggestions regarding the NHLGamer.com website (e.g. layout, features…) - Community: All suggestions regarding the community (e.g. staff, community interaction) Please note: We are bringing back the individual stats, so there is no need to make requests on that. We love them as much as you do. Here are a few hints on what your submission should look like: - Make your point, but keep it brief! Do not cover multiple topics in one message. Feel free to write as much as you want, but stick to one topic per message. - If you want to suggest a rule change, please copy the existing quote from the rulebook (click here for season 1 rules) and then highlight the change. - If you are missing a website feature, describe it as good as possible or give examples from other sites. - If you want to give the staff advice, please stay objective and do not attack anyone. ‘I did not like how rules were changed while the last tournament was in progess’ is excellent feedback, while ‘xxx sucks and should be banned’ is not and will also not be tolerated. You can submit as much feedback as you like, and whenever you want. Just make sure you ALWAYS send a new private message, and adjust the PM title accordingly. Please note that we mean a completely new private message - not a reply to your previous message. Why? We're expecting a lot of feedback and we don't want to miss any due to them being lost in processed threads. During the evaluation, your answers and suggestions will be separated from your username, which means all opinions are weighed equal and worth the same. Please use this chance whenever you feel the need to, it is very important to us. NHLGamer would not exist without every single one of you, and we rely on you to make it an even better place! On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff,

  4. I liked that system too. Definitely something to consider for the upcoming seasons.
  5. Congrats to the Nordic Blizzard for the championship and a great season! Thanks to all teams and players for their efforts and support during the first tournament and I hope to see you with us for many seasons to come! Kind regards,
  6. Couldn't have said it better. Thank you @Billy44205 (and all other serious posters in this thread)! Well done - really appreciate the effort! Please keep discussing and voicing your opinions.
  7. The good thing about this is that you can now actually use these newly created credentials to use the NHL App on the Xbox One (and probably PS4 and other devices too). Really a step forward in my opinion and I hope they don't disable this in the future.
  8. Hi All, Please post the scheduled round 3 games in this thread as soon as possible and don't forget to put your stream links up at the main site. This is to clarify any scheduling problems and also to help people follow your streams. This is explained more thoroughly in the thread linked below: Examples of how to post your schedules: or Both teams don't have to write the same message, but we kindly ask for the other team captain to quote their opponents message and confirm the schedule in this thread. Any questions, let us know.
  9. That is a mistake on our part. Thank you for pointing that out Billy, that was unintentional and has now been fixed. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are the correct days and this is what it says in the schedule.. Anybody running into problems due to our mixup, let us know. This is also a very valid point and something we have to do better in the future. In this case, I believe all four teams have been aware of their next opponent for a few days, but I agree it should've been announced earlier. There's a lot of practicalities we can improve on significantly for the upcoming second season and we're really happy to get the feedback. This is unfortunately true. However, we would like to change this culture, so that people can plan their lives better. It's a hobby, put it in your schedule. Being a captain can be a nightmare and having a better structure to scheduling games is definitely something we want to help teams with.
  10. Hey NHL Gamers, We are getting closer and closer to the finals and we've seen some great tight games so far! Did you see the one where Aapon Taikasauva and THE UNITED KNIGHTS went into the 4th OT!? What a nail-biter! Without further ado, it's time to move to the third round of the playoffs and we have seeded the match-ups as agreed previously. Short pointers: Teams can start playing as soon as they please. Please take all necessary pictures of the stats and keep them safe as a backup. Playoff-tree has been updated with the new pairs, as has the schedule and thus the ability to report. All rounds are played best out of 7 Please note the new rules on scheduling, that is active immediately! (see below) Since the patch, we feel the home team is no longer negatively affected. This is why we have decided to make the higher ranked team the home team by default. In other words, the games are played HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME from the point of view of the team on the left. However, should the team on the left wish to start as the away team, they must inform the NHL Gamer staff about this during Monday the 8th of February, so we can make the necessary adjustments. The best way to get in touch with us is to send a PM (private message) here on the forums and include all staff members (@FINSeRe @janbonator, @Kenu, @Lurkins & @Ranksu) in that message as the receipients (without the @'s). Group 1 (A) vs. Group 3 (C) A1: Nordic Blizzard (2.45 PPG) vs C3: THE UNITED KNIGHTS (2.33 PPG) C1: Synergy Hockey (2.38 PPG) vs C2: UKnighted HC (2.38 PPG) vs Group 2 (B) vs. Group 4 (D) D1: Carlsberg HC (2.55 PPG) vs B2: Sjukstugan (2.25 PPG) B1: Northern Stars (2.46 PPG) vs D2: Dynasty (2.27 PPG) Any questions, let us know in the comments below. On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff, Kenneth
  11. Update: The teams have agreed to play the games tonight. I hope we'll all be watching the stream at NHLGamer.com. Thank you to both teams for their co-operation. We, the staff, are taking notes and making updates to the rules to minimise these kinds of situations in the future.
  12. Hi All, The issue is being investigated. We will certainly learn from this and past problems and have a more structured rule-set for the Playoffs (and any other issues the community would like to outline) in the future leagues. Kind regards, Kenneth
  13. Hey NHL Gamers, The first round of the playoffs didn't offer any big surprises, but we did get to enjoy a great amount of good streams and ECL action! It's time to move to the second round of the playoffs and we have seeded the match-ups as agreed previously. Short pointers: Teams can start playing as soon as they please. Please take all necessary pictures of the stats and keep them safe until the reporting possibility is up. Playoff-tree will be updated to reflect the new pairs soon, as will the schedule and thus the ability to report. All rounds are played best out of 7 Each round is expected to be played within one week (7 days). Team on the left side below finished better and is the away team by default (due to the home team lag). Games are played AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY from the point of view of the team on the left. However, should the team on the left wish to start at home (HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME), they must inform the NHL Gamer staff about this during Monday the 8th of February, so we can make the necessary adjustments. Group 1 (A) vs. Group 3 (C) A1: Nordic Blizzard (2.45 PPG) vs C5: SIKA (1.75 PPG) C1: Synergy Hockey (2.38 PPG) vs A3: TIKI TALK (1.95 PPG) C2: UKnighted HC (2.38 PPG) vs C4: Finnish Roosters (2.17 PPG) C3: THE UNITED KNIGHTS (2.33 PPG) vs A2: Aapon Taikasauva (2.23 PPG) Group 2 (B) vs. Group 4 (D) D1: Carlsberg HC (2.55 PPG) vs D4: Ganja Bonanzas (1.95 PPG) B1: Northern Stars (2.46 PPG) vs D3: Ace Holes Hc (2.00 PPG) D2: Dynasty (2.27 PPG) vs B4: Kattiautomaatti (2.04 PPG) B2: Sjukstugan (2.25 PPG) vs B3: Nordic Stars (2.25 PPG) Any questions, please let is know below. On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff, Kenneth
  14. Wow, I just noticed this today as well. Where is my Gamecenter!? And this is just after Viaplay raised the monthly price. Wow! Small note, but Finland is not officially part of Scandinavia, so technically this petition doesn't help us.
  15. Hi Everyone, The moment all teams in the top 8 of their group have been waiting for - the first pairs to meet each other in the playoffs are listed below. Any questions, let us know in this thread. On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff, Kenneth
  16. Yes, good question! One week is what we think is the appropriate amount.
  17. Hey Everyone, We are very excited to see all (the big majority) finishing up on the regular season and getting ready for the playoffs! As you may have noticed, there have been some matters that the staff has had to deal with and there are still a few matters to deal with before finalizing the standings and moving on to the playoffs. We will of course be implementing any possible WO-results before the start of the playoffs, so don't worry if your games are still missing despite things being agreed upon. Feel free to add any missing stats or even play a missing couple of games during Wednesday. If that allows us to avoid WO's - great! Below you can see a wonderful video made by @gzell60, which illustrates the Playoffs logic during this first season of the ECL: It is worth noting that if two teams are equally ranked, for example A1 and C1 - as in the video example - we will look at points/game instead of just points, in the situation where one team has played less than the other. You can see a small preview of the playoff-tree below. I hope that clears out some of the questions you might have for now. We will disclose the playoff-pairs during the weekend and briefly discuss the plans about the next season of the ECL. On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff, Kenneth
  18. Great stuff, as expected! Thanks to @Nephenzy for the interview and to the author for the good read!
  19. Thanks @imosi. I will next time I see you! Oh, you said ban - sorry!
  20. Thank you @Billy44205. Like @MartindalexC, I'm disappointed by some of the things we haven't been able to accomplish during this first season. I've had some big things happening in my personal life, which I won't go into publicly, but will mention that they've drained my personal energy levels to a personal low and are one reason why I haven't been able to be as active as I wanted to. I actually liked the idea about keeping the game stats and giving every team the points in the case of a disqualification or similar. Thanks for the feedback - definitely worth considering!
  21. Lots of quality discussion going on in this thread that deserves a comment, but unfortunately I don't have the time to do so at the moment. I have to comment on this though: Yes, we've heard this rumour as well and if this was the case, that would indeed be very wrong and condemnable. We've investigated this and asked for any proof of these claims and we've received nothing that proves these claims. We have discussed this internally beforehand and agreed that nobody talks about this (which of course should be the case in any case) and as far as we are aware, nobody has. I would appreciate if respected members of the community, such as yourself @imosi wouldn't spread rumours, unless you have something to back this up. Please feel free to reach out to me if you know something we don't. Thank you.
  22. This is the rule that was applied. I don't remember much complaints about this before. I can definitely understand the issues that lie within the rule, but at the same time, I find it important to respect the hundreds of man-hours put into organising, playing and reporting all of the games against this club. If the majority of people disagree with this, then we can look at revamping this rule in the future. @Valmuri: Looks like you need a history lesson or two. You can read about the reasons in the opening post.
  23. Good job @FINSeRe and big thanks to @cHIIMEERa for the interview!
  24. You did notice that the standings are back on the league page?
  25. Thanks for the quick report. The reason is that our ISP has informed us that one of our scripts is putting way too much strain on their MySQL-server. We need to figure out what the issue is before we can get the page back up. This is very unfortunate, but it was either the page or the entire website. We can not give an estimate for the fix at this point, before we have investigated the issue further.
