That would be the easy way out, but not a smart or balanced approach. In our case (DPH), we would likely end up on the UK server, in which case we all pretty much face equal latency - for our home game only though. Away games against Swedes/Finns would still end up being a fairly different story then.

From what I've seen it's a 'random' selection regarding which server is used, regardless of who is the captain.

maybe...but ironically at the last couple of days...the last years I never had ping about 18ms...maximum 12ms

I live in North West England and have a ping of around 12-13ms to the EASHL servers located in Dublin, Ireland. Therefore, unless you have some voodoo going on, I don't see how it's possible for you to have had a max. ping of around 12ms. :D

Why shouldn't it? Just because other eSport players, in other genres of games in eSports don't do it doesn't necessarily mean it's stupid of us to do it. In my opinion, I don't see the point in the player using their real name if it were for an example Counter Strike, or another FPS game. For some reason, it makes much more sense to me when it comes to NHL. Yet I have nothing against using PSN id's.

You can't just disregard Lain's point just because you 'feel' it would be better with real names. Besides, the standard is usernames, there is no reason why we should 'try' to be unique for such a widespread standard.

It's not what I'm saying.... But the issues run since monthes and nothing seems to get better
    (and I said COULD) 😉

I too have played this game, although I disagree with your claim that it's not getting better since I feel at least that there's been less errors recently (compared to pre-patch).

Don't worry, I saw that you wrote "could". Nevertheless, throwing out baseless hypotheticals is just a pointless affair that achieves nothing, hence my point that it's been far worse in the past and everybody survived surprisingly enough.

I get your point Kenu, really... But you guys are doing an amazing job to help us having a crazy entertaining way of playing. You spent hours, days, weeks and monthes to create, tjink, create again and so on to release what is probably the most dynamic league in the world.

But all the job you do men gets just killed by this shitty matchmaking (and it goes like this since the early beta). I'm not even talking about the gameplay actualy, some will like it, some others not, that's the deal. But damned, this matchmaking issue is a 1st grade year matter for a dev.......

This kind of fact could (i say COULD) kill the ECL

The matchmaking has been much worse in years past and the 6s tournaments at the time carried on just fine, so there's no need for the hot take that the 'community' as we know it is going to suddenly croak because EA screwed the pooch yet again.

We can't be sure will this stay in the game or challenge team mode, but after game there is only 1min time frame after game kick you back in the lobby. So when we're taking screenshots / photos for game reports its quite tight time frame to do it. I hope they will delete that time window away from the game.

You just have to go to instant replay (or anything? Not quite sure) and the progression towards the lobby / next game will stop.

Time entered from in game screenshots does not translate to report, probably the same for all my previous reporting in the summer cup.

Screenshot: Goal with 01:49 left in the period.
Report: Goal 01:49 into the period.

Do I really need to transform from one format to another on each reported event?

Which times are you looking at to get those? Use the box score section instead of the action tracker.

Damn true. But Rammer has said there's no momentum or such things in NHL (while there's highlights in the game which show momentum changing stuff like fights etc). So Rammer lies.

Although while whining about these things, NHL game is based on real life sport where things like luck and bounces are everyday stuff. Hockey game wont work if you change the actual point of it and make it some sort of card game. Crosschecks and hookings are shit though.

I'm more referring to the fact that the powerforward is essentially god incarnate and is better than practically all builds in every situation bar a very select few. Plus all the other shit about pings being borked, no real way to actually see the connection quality of the server (choke), connection changing on a game by game basis for no discernible reason et cetera...

The game doesn't have to be a 100% reflection of skill, most legit esports have an element of rng (cs:go and jumping / moving inaccuracy) and that's perfectly fine so long as you the player remain as the main 'difference' maker. Do we have that currently in nhl? I'd argue no honestly.

I think (not sure though) that the Rome wasn't build in a week either. Think about games like Counter Strike and Dota etc. which have millions players daily.

Also helps those games have always had some semblance of balance, nhl though? Well about that...
