    When you say you don’t know the financial state of SportsGamer, that’s actually part of the problem. You’re an admin for a platform that has repeatedly taken money from its players through license fees, team fees, and sponsor-backed tournaments, yet you admit you don’t know where the money goes. That’s exactly why people are speaking up.

    This isn’t about guilt, it’s about accountability. The trust that once existed between the community and the platform has been completely broken, and every dismissive or sarcastic reply only widens that gap.

    You can laugh all you want, but the players, the ones who literally keep your platform alive, aren’t laughing. We’re the reason this community exists in the first place.

    So no, I don’t want a “yass queen.” I want transparency, responsibility, and for the people who built this scene to stop being treated like they’re disposable.

    I'd say that you should be able to understand that respectfully was used in jest but chatgpt doesn't really pick up on sarcasm too well eh?

    Anyway, no I don't know the behind the scenes because I'm not an employee of the company. If I was then having that understanding would be anticipated, however on account of myself making a grand total of 0p over the decade I've been helping out here imma go ahead and say that it's not appropriate for me to have an intimate knowledge of those specifics.

    Bluntly, it's a valid complaint that people have, and as a tournament organiser (be that person, or company) the absolute zenith of any responsibility should be paying people out their winnings - you'd agree right? Obviously, the 'solution' is to pay out the people who are still not whole, and examine the financials so that something even vaguely similar never happens again - of course equally I don't need to tell you that the horses have kinda bolted before the gate here so any 'solution' is going to be more than a singular action. 

    I'm not part of the ownership though, realistically they're the only ones that can do anything here, and they are the ones that should be responsible to fielding valid questions people have about them.

    Not a single cent should go to this website until they have paid their debts to the players. If that means the platform collapses, so be it. At least then it would be transparent. You can’t revive something that’s already dead.

    And yes, we know the admins are reading. The silence after their last statement says it all. More questions, zero answers. Silence doesn’t look professional. It looks guilty.

    Respectfully Svamp, what is it exactly that you want the "admins" to do here? Do you want us to reply to every post with a "yasss kween slayyy", or a "ur so right babe"? 

    You can ascribe guilt to the admins all you want with as much fervour as you can muster, still doesn't make even a little bit of it true. 

    Do I know the behind the scenes info about the financial state of affairs of SportsGamer? Lol, lmao even.

    These positions will be as the starting player.

    Currently we will be playing Lite for the upcoming season, but if we gel well enough and feel we can compete we will apply for the Pro qualifiers via. the wildcard process.

    I think it was mentioned earlier by someone but tbh, one of the issues we have right now is that people are straight up allergic to trying anything different in the game and figuring out the mechanics that underpin things. EA may actually change something by quite a substantial amount, but it takes an absolute age for a new trait / build to gain any traction because there's this weird zeitgeist that unless the absolute top players use it then it's pointless, and then conversely if they do use something then it MUST be good. It's a shame because I think there's a lot to be gained by people if they embraced the jank in the game and fiddled around with builds to get something that works for them. Like, not to burst people's bubbles but you ain't beating FILA / Tunnel / Hreds by playing their game with their builds, if you could then you'd be a top 3/4 team as well, but you're not so try different stuff pls tyvm.

    The settings do have a weird tendency to actually lie so it may be worth refreshing the settings in between games just to make sure they haven't defaulted to grudge matches being on then.

    Correct. If it becomes apparent that a 'unique' loadout is vastly unbalanced to the rest then we reserve the ability to specifically ban that one, while keeping the others as still playable.

  11. WECL - Update

    Hi all,

    In line with the recent tournament scheduling change for this year, the WECL is loosely pencilled in to play alongside other local tournaments like the SCL. However, due to the long period of time in which the WECL has sat with no information being communicated regarding it we are unsure of how much of a player base exists for it.

    Therefore, as a show of hands almost, could any teams that would be interested in playing in a WECL tournament please comment below so we can see if there is demand for it.

    As a (very) loose outline, the WECL will be 6v6 with a max. of two 'non-local'* players (with their most recent ECL played level no higher than Lite) in every line-up played.

     

    *Non-local players are defined as players who already have a tournament where they would be entitled to play without restriction (e.g., a Swedish citizen and the SCL).

    Hey @Geekie23

    Sorry for the late response!

    So from what I can make out, it seems like most UK players that play 6s are indeed on Playstation, however there just really aren't that many to begin with. Quite a few play 3s but again, we're struggling to hit double digits in terms of teams and or players at this point :D there's a few British teams that played in the WECL 3 (Nottingham Panthers, London Lightning, & Cardiff Devils) so if you wanted to immediately jump in I'd recommend sending those teams a message and seeing if you can get some games going! :)

  24. Dissertation project that needs your help!

    Hey NHLGamers,

    I am conducting research for my master's and I am in need of participants. In order to take part you will need to have a PC, and a fairly decent level of english (as all forms and documents are exclusively in english). In addition to this, you will also need to set aside 30-35min to complete the study.

    You will be tasked with filling in two sets of questionnaire blocks. One at the beginning, and one at the end. In the first block there will be a personality measure, in addition to two focusing on feelings of anxiety, and depression. Whereas in the second block, there will just be the latter two. In between the two blocks, you will be provided with a game to play for 20 minutes. 

    Needless to say, all data gathered from this study will remain anonymous and will be remotely stored on a university server.
