  1. Hi all,

In line with the recent tournament scheduling change for this year, the WECL is loosely pencilled in to play alongside other local tournaments like the SCL. However, due to the long period of time in which the WECL has sat with no information being communicated regarding it we are unsure of how much of a player base exists for it.

Therefore, as a show of hands almost, could any teams that would be interested in playing in a WECL tournament please comment below so we can see if there is demand for it.

As a (very) loose outline, the WECL will be 6v6 with a max. of two 'non-local'* players (with their most recent ECL played level no higher than Lite) in every line-up played.

*Non-local players are defined as players who already have a tournament where they would be entitled to play without restriction (e.g., a Swedish citizen and the SCL).

  2. Hey @Geekie23

    Sorry for the late response!

So from what I can make out, it seems like most UK players that play 6s are indeed on Playstation, however there just really aren't that many to begin with. Quite a few play 3s but again, we're struggling to hit double digits in terms of teams and or players at this point :D there's a few British teams that played in the WECL 3 (Nottingham Panthers, London Lightning, & Cardiff Devils) so if you wanted to immediately jump in I'd recommend sending those teams a message and seeing if you can get some games going! :)

Hey! Good joke! This is written by a person who never played for weak teams, did not grow up with them. The first team was RCL PRO, where he was invited by his friends. Not because he plays well, but because he is a friend :)

I don't think throwing your previous team(s) under the bus by calling them weak is the clapback that you think it is.

Let's remember to keep the posts here relevant, if you want to go off at each other please take it elsewhere.

  4. Hey NHLGamers,

I am conducting research for my master's and I am in need of participants. In order to take part you will need to have a PC, and a fairly decent level of english (as all forms and documents are exclusively in english). In addition to this, you will also need to set aside 30-35min to complete the study.

You will be tasked with filling in two sets of questionnaire blocks. One at the beginning, and one at the end. In the first block there will be a personality measure, in addition to two focusing on feelings of anxiety, and depression. Whereas in the second block, there will just be the latter two. In between the two blocks, you will be provided with a game to play for 20 minutes.

Needless to say, all data gathered from this study will remain anonymous and will be remotely stored on a university server.

If after reading this you would be interested in taking part and would like more information, please do not hesistate to send me a message here, or on discord (Bobrov, #8165).

    Thank you!

It so fking stupid that on this point of season some team have lost only ONE POINT :DDD With European point system they would have lost 6 points. On my eye that would tell a bit more that the difference between these teams is not quite sooooooo huge.

But to me this is more about ideological stuff than something that you can see from standings. The difference between Hockey Dudes and Football ladies is that hockey Dudes are alla about scoring, kicking ass of opponent and they fight all in for the win. Football ladies are more "lets hope that we don`t lose this one" and everyone have fun...and omg do everything so opponent cant score... then those ladies throw high fives after a nice 0-0 tie.

Why is it stupid? Said teams who have barely lost any points are by far and away a cut above the rest, in fact the difference between them and the rest of elite is effectively an untraversable canyon, so the current system seems pretty fine to me in that it accurately shows that.

Also, maybe tone down on the whole sexist overtones.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out how so many games are low scoring this year, or why so many teams are playing 'park-the-bus'. Goals are down, not because there's a big conspiracy and people are "ladies", but simply because the game that EA has given us does not lend itself to 6-4 games like it did in the past due to a whole host of reasons, like the impact that small nudges have on players now to name one.

It's a shame Consolehockey is rip because I could have shown you tournaments where the 3pt system was in place and let me just say it wasn't pretty. If you thought the current system leads to a runaway top 2/3 then you'd be in for a shock at some of the standings from the past.

  6. I can't speak for 6s (probably because the rest of the team is made up of people from Sweden / Finland), but when I was trying to find some draft champions games the other day the search was legit timing out, despite the person I was trying to play getting games after only 15 seconds tops. So there is definitely something weird going on with how the game is trying to matchup people in countries not named Sweden or Finland, almost seemingly refusing to 'widen' the search to teams / players outside of the immediate area.

Same connection for all of European was more important and interesting...

Since nothing really changes and really improves every year, it would be enough release patch for 20 €...

It's physically impossible for everyone to have the same connection.
