Yeah, a fake. And not the first one we have seen throughout the years either.
  4. I did that when I started and it never actually worked. Maybe I'm just shit? 🤯
  5. Hey boys, Let's have a central Fortnite Battle Royale OP on the Forums! According to my PSN friend list and general chat, quite a lot of NHLGamers also play this game outside of EASHL business. Season 4 has started a couple of days ago, bringing an overhauled map, a couple of new features and also a new superhero themed Battle Pass. Read up on it here: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/patch-notes/v4-0?lang=en-US I've been playing mostly Duos with a close friend of mine since Season 3, but I'd also love to play some Squad matches with you guys! So if you're into this game and looking for partners, drop a post in here With enough people interested, we could even host an NHLGamer Battle Royale considering private lobbies are now implemented!
  6. Sunday, 20:15 CET. True prime time hockey there 😎
  7. Alright, now I think I get your point. So you're saying if we decide to start a divisional buy-in tournament, the bottom tier division needs to be free to play so we can still attract new teams that will be dragged into paying money when they are good enough to be promoted. That does bring up a couple more questions though: Would current ECL Lite be ready to be turned into a paid division, or is it the bottom tier free to play division? Who guarantees that a huge number of existing ECL Elite and ECL Pro teams aren't dropping out in case these divisions were turned into a paid division, essentially breaking the entire divisional system? As I pointed out a couple of times, I don't like the buy-in idea a lot and would rather make use of the other method to offer paid leagues. Still, I'm interested in seeing opinions on it, which is why I'm asking these questions. In that regard, @Kenu's idea about buy-in being entirely seperate from ECL is a valid one, however not very realistic in my mind as it would essentially distract from / destroy a brand (ECL) that is known to a very large audience of NHL players by now. So I'm more focused on discussing solutions that can be implemented for the current state of ECL.
  8. I have mixed feelings about it, and I'm also not sure how that helps answering the questions I brought up in your quote 🙁
  9. I'd argue that if you grab a snapshot of tonight's 6 vs. 6 ingame top 100 leaderboard, and list all the European teams in there, most are already on NHLGamer. Does a buy in tournament really attract the lower-tier, less known teams that most likely have no chance to make up for their buy in fee? Would love to dig a little deeper there. Do we agree on the fact that a league with external prizes and no buy in fee would have a higher chance of attracting these teams though?
  10. Hey @jtorro1233, I appreciate the fact you are that passionate about this. Below are some personal remarks from my side. I am fairly confident everyone wants more than that. However playing for glory and reputation, and being dedicated to what we are doing here at NHLGamer, has already been opening the first few doors to something bigger. You already mentioned the Webhallen partnership, and we are also looking to do some more fancy stuff regarding eSM (we will we dropping a couple of announcements about that). It absolutely works in Europe as well. Essentially, there are two ways to get money involved: 1) "Beer league" style: Have players drop a buy-in fee and distribute the pool to the winners, which will ultimately prevent new players and teams from signing up, creating a locked circle just to please a small group of 2-3 top tier teams. That's the easy solution you would choose, and it comes with a ridiculous amount of drawbacks. In my opinion, it is not an option for ECL - our prime league - but it is something to be considered for other occasions! 2) "Professional league" style: Thanks to players' dedication, we are seeing hundreds of returning viewers on NHLGamerTwitch and teams' Twitch channels, we have seen a partnership with one of Europe's biggest retail brands, we have seen eSM live events hosted by NHLGamer. External brands love visibility, and by now we have created a platform that offers plenty of it, generating lots of interest from outside. This is the long term goal we have been working towards for years, and I also think the time is right for NHL 19. We're shooting for partners that we believe fit the NHLGamer brand best on our way to becoming a professional league - not some shady electronics store selling no-name chinese products or some apparel brand that has already disappeared by now. We have a very clear strategy in mind to giving you - the players - what you are looking for, and we're not going to be distracted by any outsiders. Me and especially @Kenu have been putting in hundreds of hours of work into making ECL become a professional league soon, because we love what we are doing and believe we are able to make it come to life. With 2) I believe I also answered some more questions people may have, regarding where we are and what we are heading towards. Please keep this discussion going though everyone. We would certainly love to hear about your opinions, especially having different perspectives from Elite/Pro/Lite players could deliver some essential knowledge. Will keep watching this thread

We will focus on Northern Ascendancy vs. Unlucky Boys HC, and in case the first machup ends early, or Carlsberg HC vs. Sjukstugan goes into game 7, we will cover that one as well! Here are tonight's lineups: The games will be broadcasted on the NHLGamer Twitch channel, at twitch.tv/NHLGamerTwitch and will feature commentary by @gzell60 and @Kenu. We'll see you there!
  13. Oh, I promise it can be far more interesting than a single game elimination system with 1024 players (yes, looking at you, NHL). It's right there in our drawers. Their system proves nothing, as you only face a ridiculously small amount of participants. And have I talked about the fact that playing brackets is so 1990? Anyway, I think both 1 vs. 1 and 6 vs. 6 need to be tackled with the same priority. And we're working on it.
  14. So you think it's fair to have some teams profit off this decision, while others that previously lost are just shit out of luck? No. I have to disagree as well.
  15. NHLGamers, unfortunately, League Administration was forced to take action regarding several rule infractions revolving around ECL 6 team Inter Iceland. What happened? First of all, League Administration noticed a walkover request by one of Inter Iceland's opponents as the team was not able to bring 6 players to the ice - even though the game was already scheduled and could not be re-scheduled anymore. At the same time, Inter Iceland's roster only consisted of 6 players, which violates the 8 player minimum rule. On top of this, we noticed that main captain "Stefan_397" and assistant captain "backupgoalie769" were also captains of a newly founded team called "Untouchable" that aimed to participate in the German Championship League (GCL). Figuring this was another indicator the team is about to break up, League Administration contacted Inter Iceland's captains and was assured the team intended to finish the season with the help of Free Agents. After further investigation, we were able to obtain proof of Inter Iceland inviting a player with his second account. This account belonged to “alexbvb28”, one of Inter Iceland's ex-players that earlier in the season had transferred to another team - Monarchs. We also obtained proof that shows the captain of Inter Iceland, “Stefan_397", having knowledge of this. Second assistant captain “oCharlyo” had already left Inter Iceland and was not involved in these actions. "alexbvb28" had previously inquired about a potential transfer from Monarchs to another team. Since players are limited to only one transfer per season, League Administration informed him that such actions weren't allowed. Apparently "alexbvb28" wasn't willing to accept this, prompting him to create additional accounts, so that he could help his future GCL teammate - "Stefan_397" - finish the Inter Iceland season to avoid any bans. Sources We won't disclose any sources or technical methods to obtain proof that helped us identify secondary accounts, nor their account names on NHLGamer. Rulings League Administration adjusted the ruling to the severity of the infractions violating these rules: Stefan_397 Will be disqualified from ECL 6 Will be banned from participating in all NHLGamer leagues and tournaments that take place or start during 2018 Will be banned from being main captain (C) or assistant captain (A) temporarily (this will be lifted in consultation with the affected player and League Administration in the future) alexbvb28 Will be disqualified from ECL 6 Will be banned from participating in all NHLGamer leagues and tournaments that take place or start during 2018 Will be banned from being main captain (C) or assistant captain (A) temporarily (this will be lifted in consultation with the affected player and League Administration in the future) Inter Iceland Will be disqualified from ECL 6 All ECL 6 matches will be removed Secondary accounts Will be removed immediately Since League Administration only learned of the aforementioned situation at the trade deadline and wasn't able to process it in time, any players that transferred to Inter Iceland at the deadline are allowed to open a case during the next two days (up to and including March 16) via the "Contact League Administration" forum section and request a transfer to another team. It’s difficult to find the right words to close this news story for obvious reasons, but we really want to underline the importance of integrity and not using multiple accounts to compete, in order to have a competitive and fair environment. We hope it is a lesson for all current and future members that like to participate in NHLGamer leagues and tournaments. - League Administration
  16. Using Google Translate with German is about as pointless as using it with Russian. You'll end up with complete garbage most of the time.
  17. Please take a look at the rules. It's explained in the scheduling section.
  18. I have no idea where this mistake came from, but it's fixed now. On the actual league pages at least, not the graphics in the news story. Sorry there!
  19. This should be fixed now. See if you have access please.
