  1. Hey NHL Gamers, with Synergy Hockey and Finnish Roosters having finished their series tonight, the semi-final is complete, and below you can find the match-ups: Groups 1-4 Kattiautomaatti - Victorious Secret HC Groups 5-8 MUKIMIEHET - Finnish Roosters As we announced on the forums, Kattiautomaatti and Victorious Secret HC were already allowed to start their series today. This means the alloted time for their games is until Sunday, while MUKIMIEHET and Finnish Roosters are allowed to make use of the following Monday in case it is needed. Of course, we hope to return to schedule again, and kick off the finals in time. On behalf of the NHL Gamer Staff, - gzell60
  2. Welcome to the community! There is a free agent thread, as well as a 'clubs looking for players' thread located in the NHL 16 section: http://nhlgamer.com/community/forum/18-eashl-teams-ps4/ Maybe it can further help you in joining or building a team yourself!
  3. Hey everyone, thanks to all teams who were able to finish their series in time. Unfortunately, there was a lot of controversy around the Nordic Lightning vs. TIKI TALK match-up, which is why we were only able to publish this announcement today. Some background: Nordic Lightning told their opponent, they would not be able to play any game during the weekend, and consistently asked TIKI TALK to finish the series until Thursday. TIKI TALK on the other hand were only able to start the series on Thursday, because they decided to watch Finnish World Cup games on Monday and Wednesday. On Thursday, 6 games were played - and the series was tied at 3. After game 6, TIKI TALK decided to quit for the night. We have evidence, that this was due to the team not being confident to be able to win the last game. In the end, we decided to make a decision according to the rulebook (#6 "Scheduling"): "Teams are allowed to re-schedule any of their games. Both teams involved must agree to the re-scheduled game date and time before the game date and time are made official. If there is no agreement of re-scheduling, the default date and time stands. Teams are not allowed to ignore requests for re-scheduling and must respond to the requests as quickly as possible." We think that TIKI TALK failed to act according to this part of the rule, and on top, were willing to risk a delay of the whole tournament by suddenly quitting on Thursday after game 6. This is why we will hand out a walkover win to Nordic Lightning, to win the series 4:3. Important reminder: If you have scheduling issues like these in the future, open up a private message with both team captains and NHLGamer admins/mods AS SOON AS YOU SEE THESE ISSUES COMING UP. It helps us to avoid these conflicts in the future. Also remember: Any threats against admins/mods to reinforce your opinion are not acceptable and will certainly not help in finding a solution together. Below you can find the new match-ups for the next playoff round: Groups 1-4 Nordic Lightning - Victorious Secret HC Kattiautomaatti - Nordic Nightmare Groups 5-8 MUKIMIEHET - Aapon Taikasauva Synergy Hockey - Finnish Roosters The time allotted for every round in the playoffs is one week and the default scheduled days are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Sunday should not be used for scheduling - only as a last resort to get the games played. This will allow us to have everything set up and for the next round to start on time. 4. Hey NHL Gamers, the final of this year's Cover Vote has begun! Joe Pavelski and Vladimir Tarasenko are up for choice, so use the opportunity and make your favourite win his cover spot by casting a vote now on this page. The winner will be revealed at the NHL Awards, taking place in Las Vegas on June 22nd. - gzell60
  5. Hey everyone, thanks for finishing the 2nd round of our Season 2 playoffs last week! Unfortunately, we had to give out walkover wins to Silver Sword Griffins, as their opponent was not ready to play anymore. We know that this kind of situation during the playoffs is always a little unsettling, but we will try to find a way to prevent this from happening in the future. Below you can find the new match-ups for the next playoff round: Groups 1-4 Nordic Lightning - TIKI TALK Kattiautomaatti - Dynasty Sjukstugan - Victorious Secret HC Nordic Blizzard - Nordic Nightmare Groups 5-8 MUKIMIEHET - murohoki Helter Skelter - Aapon Taikasauva Silver Sword Griffins - Finnish Roosters Infinity - Synergy Hockey As we already announced ahead of the last round, groups 1 to 4 and groups 5 to 8 will be mixed and reseeded according to our regular season tie-breakers. In this case we had to apply wins as well as goal difference on top of the point-per-game average, to make out the correct pairs. The time allotted for every round in the playoffs is one week and the default scheduled days are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Sunday should not be used for scheduling - only as a last resort to get the games played. This will allow us to have everything set up and for the next round to start on time. 7. Just as a reminder: If you have some good ideas, feel free to team up and work out something together. Whether this takes places in this topic, in private messages or somewhere else doesn't matter. You don't require confirmation from staff for every single point, so if you want to work out a fleshed out concept on your own we are happy to consider it.
  8. I moved your topic to the NHL 16 area, so it gets more attention. I think "Other" is supposed to be for new hockey games like 2K or else Also, is this a real team logo? If not, we have custom EASHL logos (and probably jerseys) back again. On top, we can probably customize our arenas to some degree:
  9. That means no post season for 4 teams at all. I think adding those to relegation would be more interesting?
  10. There will be a warning for the whole team, for this specific incident, at the first time (as long as no goal results out of the situation). If it happens again, or if the team scores a goal as a result of this, there will be game bans.
  11. So basically you have division 1, where the top 16 fight for the cup and the bottom 8 fight to avoid relegation. The bottom 8 play against each other to decide who's going down. In the 2nd division, the top 8 teams fight for promotion. What if we connect these "relegation playoffs" with each other, so #23 from division 1 plays against #8 from division 2 (and so on... #30 from division 1 against #1 from division 2)? I imagine this to be quite exciting too. We are watching
  12. Teams would split up less than before because they need to start in the lowest division again, if they do.
  13. Leagues or divisions will never turn out this way, as there always needs to be an entry point for new teams. In this example we would end up with Div1: 15 teams Div2: 15 teams Div3/'OpenDiv': x teams (in either one group if we have a relatively small amount, or multiple groups if there is a large amount of teams - resulting in some sort of own playoff system to advance to Div2) A league system like @pnordetun mentioned is definitely an option to discuss about. I only see it take place in the first 2 divisions though, as there is no way to pull it off with potentially 30+ teams in Division 3 - it would take months. The question then is, if we still want to have playoffs after the league system or not. What do you guys think?
  14. To kick off a discussion: So far there are no plans for a Summer Cup due to the feedback we originally received from a lot of players, and the long break was supposed to be used for developing on the website. But that really depends on you I guess. Moderation and administration are likely available.
  15. I heavily agree on 2), it's important to create an entertaining tournament for everyone, whether it's the usual top 20 teams or a group of 8 people who bought the game 3 weeks ago. The only way to create this environment are divisions. One more thing, even if it may sound too ambitious to be true: They are also the only way to keep EASHL populated until after April/May each year, imo. EA is not doing anything to support that mode, and a growing community with easy ways for newcomers to engage could enhance the longevity of that game mode in general. After the tournament ended, we already received a bunch of new registrations, and there are still more 6s teams out there which we should try to get involved (no matter how bad they may be at the moment).
  16. Smh. Just stop posting with that attitude, seriously. @Billy44205 Excellent read. I don't see ideas 1 and 5, due to the reasons you already mentioned. And I'd like you to go into detail about 4, as I can't really imagine it right now. 3 sounds interesting, however there is no way we can achieve it when the whole community is responsible for that. The only way to do this in my opinion is to create a player value depending on his stats, where multiple factors contribute (e.g. not only points per game, but also the amount of penalties, faceoff percentage, hits, and maybe even a team internal value rating). On top, this should only be done with the 'starting six', or the best six players in a team, as I imagine a lot of teams have players within their roster who played almost no games last season and would drag down the whole team. I still like the idea of 2, and it's important to keep the amount of divisions down to 2 or maybe 3 so it doesn't take forever for new teams to reach the top division (which is important due to the relatively high number of split-ups in the NHL community). Again, please elaborate on 4, as I feel like a mix of the two could end up being a great deal! And yes, we certainly won't start the next season asap. There will be a break, and we should use these weeks to take a few more steps.
  17. Hey everyone, VR season is ahead, and I'm excited. Even though I have yet to try any of the VR headsets. With the HTC Vive (~960€ with shipping) and the Oculus Rift (~750€ with shipping), early adopters will be able to jump in on PC between March and April. PS4 players will be able to jump in too, supposedly in the first half of 2016, with PlayStation VR. Pricing has yet to be revealed. I created a poll with 2 simple questions, as I'd like to know how much people are interested in VR in a dedicated gaming community like NHLGamer. Please feel free to participate!
  18. Welcome! The current season is about to end, and a second one is supposed to take place with NHL 16. New registrations will be accepted Good luck on building your team!
  19. Two more bugs I came across: 1) Using a couple of ' (apostrophy) in the press conference when reporting a game returns an error after you submit the stats ("Sorry, there is a problem. Something went wrong. Please try again. Error code: EX2"). Thanks again to @Snapster for making me aware of that yesterday. 2) Shooting percentage calculation for your player's career stats seems to fail because it shows 0% for me. EDIT 2: Thursday scrapped, series is done.
  21. From the experience I gained so far, a lot of teams don't know in advance whether they can play on a certain day anyway. In our case most games were agreed on like 5-7 hours before they took place.
  22. "If no agreement is reachable, then the games will be played on default match days." Let's assume your team cannot play on Tuesday and Thursday, but every other day of the week. Your opponent knows about this situation, the series starts on Monday and you take a 2-0 lead. Because there is enough potential for drama, your opponent now refuses to play on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday telling you "we don't have 6 players" (even though they do, nobody knows that though). According to the sentence above, this means the remaining games are tied to Tuesday and Thursday, and because your opponent was able to play while you were not, you lose the series even though you were in the lead. Is this correct? Dangerous rule change if you ask me.
  23. Please elaborate on your 'LOL'. If you can make sure you have enough players on the remaining days, what exactly is the problem? Also, if playing video games is exhausting to anyone, I'd highly recommend other activities to make up for that.
  24. Btw, I don't think there is a problem if you agree to not play on a certain day, but get matched during regular matchmaking. There could be plently of reasons for that (e.g. you want to take a break from playing playoffs purposefully, or one player who was missing originally got some free time on short notice etc...). However it gets problematic if you are already past the original deadline.
  25. Staff members are listed here: http://nhlgamer.com/community/staff/ Thanks for the write-up about this situation, but I think it's a hard thing to judge on if you don't have access to evidence of both teams.
