Hey NHL Gamers! Last week we had the privilege of visiting the EA office here in Helsinki to play NHL 18 and talk to Clement Kwong and Evan Dexter from the NHL 18 team. Sean Ramjagsingh (aka Rammer) was supposed to be there, but he had to cancel the Nordic visits on short notice. We had a great time talking to Clement and Evan nevertheless and we captured it in the below video. Thank you for submitting your questions - there was very limited time for the interview itself, so we couldn't fit everything in there, but we really appreciate all of the submissions! Besides yours truly, there were a bunch of other NHL Gamer members at the event: @Dominointi (staff), @Hansulinho and @Rapsu (maybe others - let us know in the comments!) can also be seen appearing in this video. Always a blast to hang out with fellow NHL gamers! Hope you enjoyed the video as much as we did enjoy making it! As you can maybe guess from the ending, there is a giveaway coming. More about that in the near future! If you haven't already, be sure to check out @esdor's article from Stockholm: Until next time!

We expect to have more than a handful of spots in Pro to fill and we would like to hear your opinion on the following matter: Should a new team be allowed to apply for ECL Pro? (New team can, for example, mean a newly formed team of Elite players) Yes = Some Lite teams are promoted and the rest of the spots are filled with applications from newly formed teams (based on merit). No = All new teams, regardless of circumstance, start in Lite. The vote is anonymous, but of course feel free to discuss the subject. The vote is intended to be a guiding light in our journey towards making the right decision, but we don't want to give false promises. While the vote will give voice to the community, it isn't a decisive "either/or" type of vote.

Hey NHL Gamers, It was a good run, but we all knew this day was coming: The NHL 18 Beta has ended and it's time to start waiting for the final product, releasing next month. Should you try accessing any of the modes of the beta, you will be met with the following screen: While waiting for the full version of the game, we would like to ask you to send us your thoughts on the beta - what did you like and what didn't you? We would also like to see your best video clips! Whether they are cool, incredible, funny, pointing out a bug in the game or just plain stupid - just share them with us! Here's our small example, recorded by @gzell60, showing off the exploitation of the L1/LB-button, which is especially effective around the boards, doesn't really slow you down when spamming, and doesn't result in penalties: By submitting our videos and feedback directly to EA SPORTS, we hope to help shape the game the way we - the community - want to see the game develop in the future. You can choose to discuss in the below thread, or post your thoughts and clips in the comments of this news story - both will be followed closely by our staff. So without further ado, submit your stuff in the comments section and let's get this thing going! On behalf of the NHLGamer staff,
-
Good game yesterday! We'll get you next time!
-
Welcome to the community! Everyone has been new to the game at one point or another, so don't let that slow you down!

I have the next version of this, the KS8000 (this model is called the KS9000 in the US, whereas in Europe the KS 9000 is a curved screen). 55" and very good. Slightly old test of input lag, but a good reference: http://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/input-lag The difference between the KS7000 and KS8000 are quite small, but nowadays the 8000 is not that expensive either. In case you happen to own the KS8000, here are some recommended settings: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ks8000/settings Considering getting a gaming monitor too for competitive purposes, but for gaming overall, I enjoy the big screen.

The time has come for me to spread my wings and put myself… eh, lets skip to the point. I am looking for a team. (sold) A 6vs6 ECL franchise that is dedicated, a fun group to play with and above all: always looking to improve. For those of you who don’t know me, I am KenuFHR, a longtime ECL (and before that EHL) player who runs this beautiful website (along with some other lovely people). Despite being asked for ID when buying Pepsi, I am old (32). When I am not coding and/or breaking stuff on the site, I have previously made my home on RW for clubs such as Kattiautomaatti, FHR Punakone (never forget) and others. While I am most comfortable on RW, I can play the other forward positions as well. @janbonator and @Dominointi will surely aid to perfect my face-off skills by the time ECL 5 kicks off, if helpful for the team. With me you get a positionally aware two-way winger with playmaking ability who’s gone up against the very best the EASHL community has to offer and know what it takes to play at that level. Therefore, I am first and foremost looking for teams in ECL Elite or ECL Pro. Should you wish to check my stats, you can do so here: https://nhlgamer.com/player.php?playerID=4 As you can see from the stats, NHL 17 was not a big effort on my side time-wise (due to working abroad) and I am back and ready to bring my A-game back in NHL 18. Send me a PM here or on PSN (KenuFHR) if interested. On a side-note. @Pontus T aka Terasniska is hands down one of the best D-men I've ever played with and I had the privilege of playing with him on the same team in the Summer Cup. You absolutely need this guy on your Elite team. Better yet, bring us both in.

Hey NHL Gamers, We hope you are enjoying the NHL 18 Beta as much as we are! If you haven't had the chance yet, you should check out the new NHL 18 trailer, titled NHL Threes Official Gameplay Trailer. You can check out the new trailer below: Campaigns, playable mascots, teams other than NHL teams... these all sound like good things for this mode in my opinion, but what do you think? Are you looking forward to getting on the ice with one of the mascots, or are you sticking to the other game modes, and if so, which one(s)? Let us know in the comments below! Until next time Gamers!

Hey NHL Gamers, Many of us were hoping for it, most of us were certainly speculating about it - scratch your head no more! EA SPORTS has confirmed that the NHL 18 Beta is in fact now open for everyone - no beta code necessary. Just jump into the Playstation or Xbox store and you should be able to locate the beta for download. Chances are, you've already been enjoying the beta for a week. In that case, just continue enjoying - no further action necessary! As you can see from the below image we snagged from their Instagram post, the beta will now end on the 8th of August. Without further ado, pick up those controllers and see you on the ice! On behalf of the NHLGamer staff,
-
Even more reason to get playing now!

Hey NHL Gamers, we hope you are enjoying the NHL 18 Beta to the fullest by now! If not, be sure to check out our Beta Code Giveaway below: As you probably know, a beta of a game is more than just a demo for the consumers. Sure, it can be used as a marketing tool to get people excited for a game and I believe in the case of the NHL series it doubles as a demo, but it also usually serves a bigger purpose, such as: Getting general feedback from the customers before the game release. Introducing the beta to a bigger amount of people will certainly bring out some technical issues that hasn't been noted before and it can then be fixed before putting the game on disc (or at the very latest in the form of a day one patch). Testing the online server capabilities. Collecting data about customer behavior within the game for multiple purposes. We here at NHLGamer are playing the NHL 18 beta at least as much as the next guy and are very passionate about discussing our findings as well. We created a discussion thread for this purpose and we will also be sharing our key points with EA SPORTS as well (we're also pretty sure they are lurking around the forums this time a year to read about what us gamers have to say ). So please, join us in the discussion and vote on our poll by going to this forum thread: EA is also looking for direct feedback from all us, in the form of "General discussion and feedback", "Technical issues" and "Bug reporting". You can read more and participate in their official discussion by following this link. That's all for now folks, I'll let you get back to your beta gaming! On behalf of the NHLGamer staff,
-
Hey NHL gamers, We hope you are already enjoying the NHL 18 Beta! Our staff is committed to streaming the beta almost non-stop, so why don't you stop by for a chat. Our first stream is already underway and the first host is @vSilenttio, who is playing with his team SIKA. He is talking to his team in Finnish, so someone please go and tell him "English please". Other confirmed hosts include @OxtreeLAT, @gzell60 and @Dominointi. Without further adieu, please jump in: https://www.twitch.tv/nhlgamertwitch On behalf of the NHLGamer staff,

Sadly, I had to go to the hospital and staying here over the night, so the above mentioned Kenu Emrick will have to be replaced. I will definitely try to watch the stream though. Good luck to both teams!

I like the idea. In my opinion the blocked shots stat is broken though and it only counts when you're laying down. I block shots, but the game says I had like 0 blocks in several hundred games. Definitely a stat that I appreciate, though, so let's see how it works for 18.

No, I agree with you and I didn't mean that you should have to be on the edge of your seat to understand. I just meant that ideally you kind of forget about it as you're listening in. That being said, there was very limited testing with only a couple sets of speakers, so the experience could differ. Everyone, please feel free to voice your opinion. We can definitely upload a new one with the music on a lower level, it it's hard to listen to.

Thanks for the feedback @MartindalexC! The latter is one of the things we mean by technical quality. The music I think kinda fades in your mind once you're concentrating on the guys talking - or that was my experience, so definitely welcome the feedback about this.

Thanks for your message and sorry for no reply - I completely forgot to write you for some reason! I would like to thank you for your support through your redirects to our website and compliments on your great videos - I've enjoyed them a lot! I also agree with you that it'd be great if we could actually play some NA vs Europe games without one being at a clear disadvantage. Hopefully that will prove possible in the near future, but I'm not holding my breath. Kind regards, Kenneth -
