  1. I don't remember tbh, but I spoke about this with @MartindalexC today and told him that I assume it is whatever was on the most recent site. Will have to put a pin in that.
  2. ^This. We do have most of the EHL info stored, but I can't give you any promises on when it will be introduced to our system.
  3. Thanks for the feedback. 1) Regarding the last day of the regular season, I agree that it should be a solid date, well known up front. That was actually our intent for this season, but - as mentioned previously - due to human error, the old wording was left in about the 7 days. Originally intended extra days: 0 Extra days with first announcement (as we wanted to start the playoffs on Monday): 3 Extra days, after we got the feedback that the rules say seven days: 5 In other words, we made a compromise with this decision, while not removing too many days from what some teams may have been expecting. I believe we put up the announcement on Thursday evening, regarding the two extra days. Are you saying you didn't have this information on Sunday when you played the last games? We still have some work to do with having a clear line communication with the captains and that's something we can improve on. 2) Regarding the trade-deadline I personally find it ok (while not optimal) to change it during the season, as we gave a one week warning and people could still transfer. This rule was intended to be in place to avoid team jumping when the playoffs start. Overall, I agree WE need to step up our game as a team and you can expect a solid date for the above mentioned things ECL 6. We have been very short on active staff members this season, which easily leads to shortages and mistakes. We would very much want enthusiastic and active people to join us to make ECL 6 the best experience we can. Send me a PM if you're interested and have the time to invest (this is for anyone, not directed at @imosi). Please keep the feedback coming and don't be afraid to bring these up at the start of the season (like for example @Janikka did, and I appreciate that).
  4. 5. The first link has the gameType defined and the below one doesn't. This was a mistake in a link on the league page that was fixed during the week, but I now saw that the forums had a couple of those links now. These are fixed. All ok now? Thanks! It takes a bit of work, but that is the plan. This has also been on the drawing board for quite a while. Couldn't agree more. Not writing so many articles myself, but very short on time for programming more than the bare minimum lately. I'm talking to some people about this to hopefully find some new hands on this. If you're reading this and are a programmer, feel free to send me a PM. Thanks for the feedback!
  6. @The_Alpha_Furyan pretty much summed up most things I want to say here, but I'll add a few words. The Valve example is pretty radical though. Yes, absolutely, one can achieve great things with a small team - for sure! Do we have 12 full-time paid employees? Nope. 6? Nope. 3? Nope. 1? Nope. I think it's counterproductive to throw people under the bus and I won't, but sadly being listed as a member of something doesn't mean the workload is shared evenly. Sometimes people take expected breaks, sometimes unexpected. I wish I could say I spent 50% of my time developing. The amount of messages from our users to me on the forums, email, PSN, WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook etc etc is in itself almost enough for a full-time job. What we've done now is aimed to funnel it into a help desk, so more of our staff members can look at things and free my hands, but evidently this transition process takes time. I agree about most of the things you said and how things should be handled and believe me, these are things I'm well aware of (though a reminder is sometimes in place, honestly) and as a person that demands very much of myself, sometimes eat at me. I definitely agree that we can work on our transparency and communication, to lift the illusion of nothing happening. Sometimes it's just a lot of invisible work that will make sense in the end, but until details are finalized, it's worthless and possibly can't even be discussed. On the tech side we haven't been flexing too much with fresh stuff lately, agreed. What we have done though, is made notable progress in the scene here in Finland and in the process developed some very good contacts and shown that we can produce a good high-quality live event for the top versus players. Continuing this work will help us produce more of these, eventually 6vs6 and also in other countries. Whether or not these are your cup of tea, I don't know, but I'm for one am proud of what we've accomplished and what we've working towards. Now, back to the tech part. We do indeed need some more hands on that. I actually brought in a guy (close friend of mine) and introduced him to what's under the hood. He tried hard to help out, but he was unable to be effective with it, while doing his other projects and taking care of his kids and family. I'm aware of some other candidates that could have the talent to help out, but I either need to trust that person with my life, or we need to (and we really do) work a bit with the architecture to allow access to smaller parts of the system and develop that way, instead of allowing access to absolutely everything. @Lurkins and I have certainly put the website on its knees a few times by being a bit sloppy in the wrong files and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else. Not to mention that a person with an ill intent could really do some damage with too much access. Concerning the "be patient", I completely understand that someone saying that doesn't exactly help at all. I try to avoid such things, but I know I can be annoyingly diplomatic about certain things and not say too much. The fact is though, that some of us work on this stuff for hours and hours and sacrifice sleep and other things to get this ship to where we want it (that definitely includes technology) and it's hard not to take it personally sometimes when people make blunt comments without knowing how much work is put into this. You've made a good point though - how could you, as it's not really documented? I really do appreciate your feedback and ideas @MartindalexC. I think it's a good idea to have a private talk and see how you could be able to help out.
  7. Thanks Connor, I like it. Should be doable. It's officially on the planning board now. (Not going to be done by ECL 5, but you already knew that) Regarding the loading times, please give us some more information, such as: - Is it specifically on some pages or all pages, or perhaps everywhere except the forums? - Is it always slow? I've noticed some slowdowns from time to time, but I've thought that's my internet being annoying (apart from the actual obvious problems that we've had in the past). The website is cached on Cloudflare (not everything can be cached though, as you would be getting old data if it was). Also thanks for pointing out the OT-bug. There's a lot of annoying stuff revolving around the pending game status. Need to change that logic.
  8. Update to issue: We know what's causing it now. We will rebuild the stream logic.
  9. The feedback is valid and welcome. Thank you for finally being brutally honest, @MartindalexC. Regarding both features, I agree with you both. Not going to go into detail, but there has been a huge shortage in manpower, which we are working on getting out of (yeah, we've all heard this story before). We may not always prioritise to your (or our own) liking and the quantity of work we do is sadly not always visible to the user.
  10. I'm as disappointed as you are. Haven't been able to make it a priority. Won't give you any promises or dates, but there has been some internal developments. Thanks for the bump.
  11. Hi @Bantubox, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - we've been working long days at the Grail Quest event. We will investigate this issue as soon as we get a chance!
  12. Guess in this situation it would've been better to be janboNOhands.
  13. Can you link me to one positive comment you have ever made in this community?

    ECL 5 Season Preview: Lite

Yes you can. Picking up a player from the free agents does not count as a transfer.
  15. Hey @LopatkoJ, At the moment I don't know of such a website. We hope to offer such content in the future, but we're not quite there yet.
  16. Cool thread and clear poll-result! This is indeed the direction NHLGamer wants to take things. We are working on things, but have nothing new to announce at this stage. Like @Nahkatoteemi said above, we're always happy to be approached with things like this.
  17. Hey NHLGamers, When you start your game today, you might notice that there's a new patch. There isn't that much information about it, just the note "General stability and bug improvements". What could this mean? Well, we can simply speculate at this point, but there are a couple annoying things that have been happening in the game lately: At times, the game would get stuck in a weird camera angle with the frame being stuck, while you can only hear the game audio: Quite often, during an online game the game would jump back to an earlier faceoff, sometimes resulting in the loss of an already scored goal. We certainly hope the above two have been fixed with this patch and that we won't suffer from these problems again. According to the buzz in several Facebook groups at the moment, the so called "slider glitch" has been fixed now, so you're not able to make the HUT challenges super easy anymore. How are you finding the patch? Are the above mentioned things gone? Let us know in the comments below. Below you can find the Patch 2 notes and in case you missed it earlier, the notes about what Gameplay Tuner 1.01 actually did: Source: https://forums.ea.com/en/nhl/discussion/146691/nhl-18-patch-tuner-notes#latest
  18. Card has been traded for a bronze contract and a pack of gum. Thanks to everyone who were interested!
  19. I can't seem to pull anything good out of these packs... Anyone interested, or should I just quick sell? Update: Traded for a bronze contract and a pack of gum.
  20. NHLGamers, It seems like it has been the month of announcements, doesn't it? Well, today we bring you another one. NHLGamer.com are immensly proud to announce that we are partnering with Ilta-Sanomat, SJK eSports and SeAMK for the latest edition of the IS Cup! You may remember our reporting from the last edition of IS Cup, if not you can find it here (Part 1) and here (Part 2), where we met up with many community members (including eventual winner @plee999) and covered the event from a journalistic perspective. This time around we will be an active host and participant in the prestigious tournament that will be open to players from all over Europe and is free to sign up for. Oh and, did we mention the 6000€ prize pool? Here you can find the official news story from main partner Ilta-Sanomat [Article in Finnish]. However, if you're not a native Finnish speaker, here's our brief breakdown of the event: As mentioned before, here at NHLGamer.com we are truly proud to be one of the main, active partners of this tournament and will work tirelessly to see it top the tremendous experience that was provided through the last IS Cup. So, how do I sign up? As mentioned above, the tournament is available to anyone in Europe, as long as you're available to travel to Helsinki for the final tournament (at your own expense). Here's where to sign up: Finnish speakers can sign up by heading over to https://nhlgamer.com/iscup If you're not from Finland, you might want to head over to the sign-up page in English over at https://nhlgamer.com/iscup/index_en.php For all of our members out there, old and new, I suggest you strap in - the NHLGamer journey is just getting started. 21. Updated save logic to reduce issues that were causing the user goalie to make save attempts on pucks that were far from the net. I think this one might be it?
  22. Hey NHLGamers, EA SPORTS has released the first content update (also known as patch) for NHL 18 and the list of improvements is quite extensive! The list of improvements is very versatile and includes both small tuning and larger pieces, ranging from camera fixes to adding the new leagues (EBEL, HockeyAllsvenskan and the CHL) to the Season mode. There's also been quite a lot of tweaking to the online experience and from this patch forward there is no longer a 1 minute grace period in HUT (oh boy, could I have used this patch yesterday)! We have yet to confirm exactly what it looks like, but according to the notes we can now see more information about the opponent (including connection quality) before the game starts. You can see the full list of updates (including also the updates between the beta and the released game) below: Overall, looking at the list it feels like a lot of my complaints have been addressed. What about you? How do you like the update? What would you like to see in the future updates? Please let us know in the comments. I'll see you on the ice! 25. NHLGamers, It's been one hell of a ride so far... and it ain't showing any signs of slowing down. Today we here at NHLGamer.com are happy to announce we've passed another milestone: 2500 Members! For those of you who have been keeping track of our milestone announcements, 2017 has been a very exciting year with no less than three separate milestones reached since the turn of the new year. Let us take a quick look back, shall we? 1000 Members, April 25th 2016. 1500 Members, January 16th 2017. 2000 Members, April 21st 2017. 2500 Members, September 9th 2017. While our biggest website growth yet took place between January - April earlier this year where we gained 500 members (1500 to 2000) in a span of just 3 months, we are still immensly proud to have almost matched that pace for members 2000-2500. Especially when you consider April-September is traditionally not a part of the calender year that people associate with hockey, virtual or other. What has happened since April? For starters NHLGamer.com held its annual Summer Cup. A tournament where we had more than 300 participants sign up - more than doubling last years totals. Not only that, we also had our first sponsor in website history when Webhallen joined up with NHLGamer to produce the Summer Cup. We opened an Instagram account. We gave away a signed Mike Green jersey on Facebook We started a Podcast We also anounced the arrival of Versus tournaments, something that we will be releasing more information about in the next few weeks. Finally, we held our first ever Xbox ECL that was just completed. So... how are you celebrating? Well, glad you asked! To celebrate this milestone we are doing an NHL 18 -live stream with giving away two NHLGamer t-shirts (S & M sizes) with our official logo on them AND a custom SCUF PS4 controller. The best thing? They are all autographed by NHL 18 Producer Clement Kwong and Senior Communications Manager Evan Dexter! The SCUF box is also signed by @Hansulinho, @Dominointi and @Kenu. How cool is that?! You can check out the signing part in our interview video by clicking here. To enter this alarmingly awesome giveaway, go to https://twitter.com/NHLGamerCOM and check out our latest Tweet ("NHLGamer SCUF Giveaway!") for more info on how to win. Because we are in a giving mood, we also added the instructions for you right here: Own a Twitter account. If you do not, you can always create one! Re-tweet the recent NHLGamer Giveaway tweet AND follow the NHLGamer Twitter account Also follow @Dominointi's Twitter account (the provider of the SCUF controller) A winner will be drawn among those members who re-tweeted the specific tweet and followed both accounts. Winner will be announced on the official NHL 18 release day: 15/9! You can join the stream at https://www.twitch.tv/nhlgamertwitch now. Thats cool! But whats coming up next? We know we've been teasing for a while now that we got some cool stuff coming up... but we are going to keep you all in the dark for just a short while longer. As the saying goes; "Good things come to those who wait" See you on the stream!
