NHLGamers, Due to the downtime of the EA servers on Thursday 1st November 2018, it was not possible to play any scheduled games. Therefore League Administration has made a ruling to extend the Lite division regular season from the original November 2nd 2018 until Sunday 4th of November 23:59 CET. We ask all teams with games remaining to finish their games until this new deadline and report their games immediately so we can further process the results and prepare for the upcoming playoffs. If you are unable to find an agreement with your remaining opponent, please open a new support ticket to league administration. The Lite playoffs will start on Monday, 5th November 2018. - League Administration

Great work guys! Note to Pro teams: Please take nice high quality screenshots of your team so we also use other teams besides Deadly Phantoms for the cover art of this series (even though they have been playing great!).

Red Jackets GCL Registration & Member Ban The team Red Jackets - registered by member @schlundleo15 - will not be allowed to participate in the GCL3. This decision was made after reviewing the accounts of all captains who registered teams. During this check it was discovered that the captain schlundleo15 had registered the team Western Dynasty as user man-at-work-74 before, after which he removed the registration without notifying the assistant captains. This lead to further account investigations during which we discovered that the user holds up an overall of so far six known accounts on NHLGamer, each associated with different PSN ID's/Gamertags. Western Dynasty's registration has been recovered and the team will be allowed to start the GCL3 season. The discovered accounts so far are the following: sebbo xtreeem42 Luroalel sabre2411 man-at-work-74 schlundleo15 This is a not acceptable behaviour and also not in line with the rules for competing in tournaments on NHLGamer.com. Therefore all accounts except one (chosen by the member within 24 hours) will be removed. The user is required to unveil any other possible account belonging to him. If an existing account that NHLGamer was not notified of within 24 hours is detected, this will also affect the ban period. As a result of the current findings, the user will be banned from all NHLGamer leagues and tournaments until December 31st 2019. If during this timeframe any new infractions or new registrations with a different ID are detected, the ban will be prolonged and can be changed to a lifetime ban. - League Administration

Nice video! I found that the goals where the goalie drops the puck around 36 seconds and 1:48 were a bit unfortunate and unfair for both goalies so I sent the video as feedback.

Where does 6 years of NHLGamer work fit on your list? 🤷🏻♂️😄 Great work! Really adds to the professionalism of the teams and the site - thank you!

Not yet, but great question. If a community member wants to help out with these instructions, that would be greatly appreciated! Same goes for the API-tool, which is now back.

Can't really say months, since the game has been out for roughly a month. You could count the beta, but then again that's the beta and expected to have issues. Again, I hate the errors as much as the next guy, but lets stick to facts. Thank you for the kind words, though. We do in fact put in quite an amount of time, to put it mildly.
-
I wholeheartedly agree these issues are unacceptable. One thing I want to point out in general is the importance of learning to differentiate between developers, producers and those who sit on the money. To me it's quite obvious why the game is released once a year. Patches and tuners come out and people complain - how is DLC different? A patch is just a downloadable instalment of improvements (arguable) - why couldn't the DLC do the same amount of damage? Well, sure, it could theoretically speaking make a change to the development cycle and the time being available for development, but how realistic is that? The NHL (the league) is a season based business that gets hyped up for the new season. As a business, wouldn't you want a big push of feature updates just in time for that - even if it was in the form of DLC? If anything, I'd be worried that a DLC that could basically be maintaining the game rather than developing it can actually make the available resources even smaller. The dilemma I see is: Make big changes, break stuff = get complaints about things being better before and why did they have to do anything except for update the rosters Update rosters, make minimal adjustments = get complaints about why we're being charged for just a roster update. I love the passion of our community and I can tell you that we have together helped in fixing a lot of bugs just in NHL 19. Just know that the devs are just as eager as you to have a good product and the best way we can help is to provide as constructive feedback as possible. If there is an issue, try to record it on video/screenshots and send it to me with as detailed explanations - perhaps you have a theory of why it doesn't work or what steps need to be taken to cause the error or not cause an error. All of these bits and pieces of information help. The other approach is to go to the barricades, which is also sometimes necessary. Just think about how you articulate that feedback if you do. If you say you'd rather play the beta, the people in charge of the budgets may say "ok, so we can have the game done by July then and not spend extra resources on beta feedback and polishing". 😄 To conclude, I want to underline that I am definitely not perfectly happy with the game and there's a lot of issues that grind my gears. I also don't want to say that complaining is a bad idea - let's face it, that's the only way for a company to know that people think they are doing something wrong. All I'm saying is let's do our best to be constructive with our feedback so it's clear what we want, as simplifying things into saying stuff like "Ehy would they waste a whole year on the new skating - could have kept the NHL 18 skating just as well" may actually make some decision-maker say "Yeah, why did we spend all that money? Let's put that effort into something else".

NHL 19 Tuner 1.0.2 is out - Are we overreacting about the changes?
Kenu posted a record in EA Sports NHL
Hey NHLGamers, A new NHL 19 Tuner carrying the version number 1.0.2 has been released. Before we jump into the tuner notes, let's have a little talk. If you are active on social media and the NHL community, you know that there has been a lot of harsh feedback about NHL 19 and there's been claims such as: They ruined the game - it was already perfect during the beta! The patch/tuner turned the game back into NHL 18! The skating was perfect, but now I feel like a tank again! Let's take a moment to think about this. Could some of this backlash also be a community overreaction? I mean, we're having the same discussions annually. People that are familiar with marketing surely know that word of mouth works in a snowball effect, maybe that's a part of what's happening here? Understandably everyone can't like the changes but have they actually been as dramatic as the community has made it seem? I myself usually love playing the game in the first weeks it comes out - sure, it feels the same in many ways, but it's still fresh and people don't know how to play exactly and how to score in the most efficient ways. Fast-forward a few weeks: The game isn't as easy as it was on the week of the release. Your competition has also got in some game hours and has learned a trick or two. The bliss of having a new, amazing product has faded and you've become familiarized with the grind it takes to stay at a competitive level in the game. So a new patch or tuner comes out and someone tells you "this and that is completely ruined". You start focusing on it more. You notice new things that perhaps aren't actually new things, just things you didn't pay attention to before. But surely it's real - everybody is talking about it! Do I think the game is perfect? Far from it. I have spent countless hours giving constructive feedback about it this year alone. But constructive is the key word. If you want something to be actually improved, you can't expect it to improve if your feedback is at the level of "This is trash! Fix your game!". I know there are many members in our community that actually put in the time and effort to provide valuable and well constructed feedback. I believe we could all benefit from taking a look at our approach to feedback, whether it is at a Burger King or a web forum. Honestly, I have been too busy with working on the website and broadcasts to get in as many game hours as I would like to and because of that, I know that many of you are better qualified to actually discuss the pokechecks, stick lifts and skating. So please do discuss it in the comments, using words, videos and graphs or whatever you need. Let's just drill into the specifics of the issues and look at why things work or don't work the way we expect them to. It's also worth keeping in mind that if you release a patch that aims to fix everything in one go, it's could to be really hard to say what change caused an unexpected change to the game balance. NHL 19 Tuner 1.0.2 - Change log Ok, so on to the important stuff of what's new in this tuner. The tuner is now available, but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. There are several parts that at least on paper sound like they issue many of my main complaints so far: You should not be able to smash that stick lift irresponsibly without getting called for penatlies. It should be easier to pull off some dekes with any player type now (I've felt it's too hard to get successful dekes even when the player isn't pressured) It's felt like it's been a bit too easy to knock the puck lose just by the opponent trying to hit you, but in the process their stick has touched the puck, often through your body. This should be improved now. I've often been confused with whether or not I've been able to pick up the puck or not and I don't know if I should leave the situation or not. Hopefully now the outcome will be more obvious and make reading the game a bit easier. Earlier broken sticks were removed (from competitive play) and now the dropped sticks. While I liked it as a thing that happens in real hockey, let's face it - it was very random and thus unfair. I've actually been quite happy with the goalies this year, but I imagine these tweaks are to hinder some glitch. What do you think about the new tuner? What is your main gripe with NHL 19? Let us know in the comments.- 19 comments

Hi Toni, New teams will be available within the next few days, so no need to worry about that. Just stay put in your old team.

Ahh, good to know. Thanks, I'll report it.

Hey NHLGamers, We have plenty of seasons starting, with IS Cup 3, RCL, ECL and GCL starting up in the coming days, so it's a good time to refresh your knowledge about game reporting! Due to the new World of Chel dressing room mechanic, the EA API doesn't yet contain the stats nor results for private game sessions, so at least for the start of the season, the captains will have to do slightly more manual work. Reporting games isn't difficult at all, but please have a look at the below for a good reminder before the season start in an attempt to clear any misunderstandings. 1) As a captain, you can see the TEAM TOOLS menu. To report a match, simply click ADD MATCH. 2) Next, pick the game you are reporting - remember, by default, the home team reports the team stats. It's good to have screenshots off all stats just in case, though. Click Add stats to add the team stats (for individual stats, see #5) 3) It's time to add the team stats. Quite simple, but pay attention to filling out all of the fields correctly. Note that it asks for amount of penalties, not penalty minutes! When you're happy with it, click Submit. 4) This is a re-cap screen. Please double-check that everything is correct. If you need to fix something, just click back. 5) Here's the part that the teams fill out individually. If you were the home team and reported the team stats, you'll be taken to this screen automatically. If your opponent reported the team stats, see #6 for how to get to this screen. You get the penalty and goal times from the Box Score menu in the game. Do not use the Action Tracker times, as they are reversed. 6) If you're the away team and your opponent reported the team stats, you'll see Add individual stats as an option in the reporting tool. So there you have it. Be patient and everything will go smoothly. Just be sure to take pictures of all of the stats before exiting the game and use the times from the Box Score and not the Action Tracker and you'll be good. Questions? What if the game disconnects? At the time of a disconnect, both teams need to take down all of the stats (take screenshots or photos). After the rest of the game has been played out, stats for both relevant portions of the games need to be merged, to report the whole game on NHLGamer.com. This whole procedure can be repeated multiple times, in case players drop out more than once during one scheduled game. What if the game is reported incorrectly? Contact support Anything else? Ask us in the comments!
