Hi all,
as some of you might know, NHL 18 was touring in Stockholm and Helsinki on Monday/Tuesday and we as NHLGamer had some interesting talks with two of the game's producers, Clement Kwong and Evan Dexter (we will publish an interview soon - keep an eye out for it).
One topic was the infamous L1/LB spam glitch that surfaced at the end of NHL 17 and also made its way into the NHL 18 beta, where it turned out to be even more effective. Please refer to this video:
While we believe we were already able to point out how this negatively affects gameplay in our discussion, we now ask all of you to provide more footage that we can submit to the EA SPORTS NHL dev team for further analysis:
1) ANY footage will be helpful: NHL 17, NHL 18 Beta and NHL 18!
2) Preferably, we would love to see REAL-TIME footage (no replay slow-mo) to highlight missing speed penalties while spamming and to show off the influence on gameplay better
3) Spamming FROM BEHIND needs to receive special attention, as you would likely draw a tripping penalty if you were to use regular poke checks in these situations
4) Upload to any external platform like YouTube - if you are facing issues, feel free to ask!We were following some of the discussions in the past closely and are very well aware of the fact that there are many players who would love to see this either fixed or prohibited in ECL and other NHLGamer tournaments. However there is also a legit component to using L1 which makes it very difficult to find a clear-cut ruling on this.
As a platform with arguably the very best players in the world, that are constantly looking to improve and take the game to a whole new level, we should join our efforts to reach the target of having clean, competitive and exploit-free gameplay.
Note that this thread is not intended to be another debate (do not call out other players, specifically). Please keep it a clean collection of videos related to exploiting L1, and feel free to explain why the use in your particular scenario is an issue. Of course, we won't prosecute any players that are visible in the clips.

Hi! This is actually a good idea, and I took note. Don't expect an immediate change but a few waves with updates as we are generally looking to improve the use of stats in the long run

Been using BenQ screens for like 8 years. A good buyDon't confuse response time with input lag though. That 1 ms you mentioned, and which a lot of manufacturers use in misleading context, is response time. Input lag for said display is around 10 ms.

So far the ideal 4K console gaming TV is the Samsung KS7000 (exact model may vary per country, e.g. in Germany it's called KS7090).
It has 22ms of input lag which is very good for a TV (input lag for monitors is usually around 10ms). Also supports 10-bit HDR (make sure you get a 10-bit capable display, otherwise you won't benefit from HDR).
The 49 inch version cost me around 1000€ in January, it got a little cheaper in the meantime.
No idea about monitors but people already suggested a couple.

Due to the fact that my current team will likely break up (main players quitting NHL 17 due to consistent packet loss), I'm looking for tryouts.
About me:
- 22 years old
- EASHL since NHL 10
- Preferred positions: RW, LW, LD, RD
- One of the top defenders in ECL 4 Pro
- Available almost every day between 19 and 23 CEST
- I'm German, so we probably need to talk English with each other
In case it fits, I'm not looking for captaincy, as I'd like to step back from that (for NHL 17 at least), mainly due to other responsibilities. Aside from that, I always like to play regularly - at least 3 days a week. That's the baseline that I require to keep my level of skill

Horizon Zero Dawn in 4K HDR on the PS4 Pro is a fucking miracle. Graphically, this is like 4 levels ahead of any other game I ever played on PS4 so far, Guerilla Games must be wizards or something.

Though we will remain EASHL focused for the foreseeable future, I really don't expect us to stop there. Especially with recent news in mind
The roadmap for the next few months is clear though: Get Divisions out there and make ECL even more exciting, it's what everyone is waiting for.
We are planning ahead though, so let's see what other things we want to bring to life
