    Hey boys,

Let's have a central Fortnite Battle Royale OP on the Forums! According to my PSN friend list and general chat, quite a lot of NHLGamers also play this game outside of EASHL business.

Season 4 has started a couple of days ago, bringing an overhauled map, a couple of new features and also a new superhero themed Battle Pass. Read up on it here: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/en-US/patch-notes/v4-0?lang=en-US

I've been playing mostly Duos with a close friend of mine since Season 3, but I'd also love to play some Squad matches with you guys! So if you're into this game and looking for partners, drop a post in here :)

With enough people interested, we could even host an NHLGamer Battle Royale considering private lobbies are now implemented!

  2. Alright, now I think I get your point. So you're saying if we decide to start a divisional buy-in tournament, the bottom tier division needs to be free to play so we can still attract new teams that will be dragged into paying money when they are good enough to be promoted.

That does bring up a couple more questions though:

Would current ECL Lite be ready to be turned into a paid division, or is it the bottom tier free to play division?
Who guarantees that a huge number of existing ECL Elite and ECL Pro teams aren't dropping out in case these divisions were turned into a paid division, essentially breaking the entire divisional system?

As I pointed out a couple of times, I don't like the buy-in idea a lot and would rather make use of the other method to offer paid leagues. Still, I'm interested in seeing opinions on it, which is why I'm asking these questions. In that regard, @Kenu's idea about buy-in being entirely seperate from ECL is a valid one, however not very realistic in my mind as it would essentially distract from / destroy a brand (ECL) that is known to a very large audience of NHL players by now. So I'm more focused on discussing solutions that can be implemented for the current state of ECL.

Because ppl would get more interested of it. Gamers and even regular human who loves NHL videogame series + real life hockey. You can take my words up and laugh at me if it aint working.  I might be wrong but this is what I think.

I'd argue that if you grab a snapshot of tonight's 6 vs. 6 ingame top 100 leaderboard, and list all the European teams in there, most are already on NHLGamer. Does a buy in tournament really attract the lower-tier, less known teams that most likely have no chance to make up for their buy in fee? Would love to dig a little deeper there.

Do we agree on the fact that a league with external prizes and no buy in fee would have a higher chance of attracting these teams though?

  4. Hey @jtorro1233,

I appreciate the fact you are that passionate about this. Below are some personal remarks from my side.

Do we have enough motivation anymore to play Leagues without any prizes? Why do we play? Just for fun? Beacuse of glory and reputation? But we want more!

I am fairly confident everyone wants more than that. However playing for glory and reputation, and being dedicated to what we are doing here at NHLGamer, has already been opening the first few doors to something bigger. You already mentioned the Webhallen partnership, and we are also looking to do some more fancy stuff regarding eSM (we will we dropping a couple of announcements about that).

In NA we have seen many different 6v6 Leagues with prizes and feedback has beengreat, at least what we have heard. So why this kind of thing would not work in Europe too?

It absolutely works in Europe as well. Essentially, there are two ways to get money involved:

    1) "Beer league" style: Have players drop a buy-in fee and distribute the pool to the winners, which will ultimately prevent new players and teams from signing up, creating a locked circle just to please a small group of 2-3 top tier teams. That's the easy solution you would choose, and it comes with a ridiculous amount of drawbacks. In my opinion, it is not an option for ECL - our prime league - but it is something to be considered for other occasions!

    2) "Professional league" style: Thanks to players' dedication, we are seeing hundreds of returning viewers on NHLGamerTwitch and teams' Twitch channels, we have seen a partnership with one of Europe's biggest retail brands, we have seen eSM live events hosted by NHLGamer. External brands love visibility, and by now we have created a platform that offers plenty of it, generating lots of interest from outside. This is the long term goal we have been working towards for years, and I also think the time is right for NHL 19. We're shooting for partners that we believe fit the NHLGamer brand best on our way to becoming a professional league - not some shady electronics store selling no-name chinese products or some apparel brand that has already disappeared by now. We have a very clear strategy in mind to giving you - the players - what you are looking for, and we're not going to be distracted by any outsiders. Me and especially @Kenu have been putting in hundreds of hours of work into making ECL become a professional league soon, because we love what we are doing and believe we are able to make it come to life.

With 2) I believe I also answered some more questions people may have, regarding where we are and what we are heading towards.

Please keep this discussion going though everyone. We would certainly love to hear about your opinions, especially having different perspectives from Elite/Pro/Lite players could deliver some essential knowledge. Will keep watching this thread :)

  5. @Kenu @Lurkins

There are other reports of wrong +/- as well, was also added to Bitbucket some time ago. Can you look into it please?

@Tim_FlyersFan Could you please upload screenshots from the player stats pages? They show +/- as well. In another case, the ingame numbers did not match what we received from the EA API, so I'd like to see if it applies to this game as well.

  6. Hi @drgrow13 & @Adam Hašek

I'll remove the two match reports mentioned in the opening post. They are both essentially empty and do not include any player stats, time or attack or amount of penalties.

Please share the screenshots with each other and make sure you use the correct tool (API for games that were finished in one session, old tool for games that were disconnected at some point) and add all the necessary stats (API: general stats and all events for both teams; old tool: general stats and player stats and events for your team only - away team has to add their player stats and events seperately).

If you face any other issues, please open a new case!
