    Sooo SC is cancelled?

We still see a big interest from the community for the Summer Cup, but we didn't want to start signups before we were able to communicate about FCL as we know some players will prefer to focus on that and that would have potentially lead to a lot of drop-outs.

While our resources are definitely being tested with the SL and FCL running simultaneously, in addition to preparing for everything NHL 20, we hope to be able to discuss the Summer Cup next.

Considering ECL is 90 % of finnish teams, one could question how it benefits the growth of the community to include finnish players in a swedish tournament? Maybe that is not NHLGamers goal? @Kenu

16,67% of players could be Finnish and this ruins it for you? eSM 2019 will allow 33% of the team to be foreign. While we want to be equal where we can, we decided limiting the number to just one instead of two for the SCL in order to make sure the Swedish players have the best opportunity to show and grow.

There is a bunch of pre-existing teams that have a mixed roster and by allowing a small quota of foreigners we want to prevent breaking up teams due to unnecessarily strict rules, as some teams would be restricted from playing in most leagues and tournaments in that case.

Allowing a small quota of foreign players is nothing new in hockey and in the context of eHockey it will make SCL and eSM even more internationally interesting. Creating a tournament/league and throwing in a prize pool and event doesn't automatically generate success and future events - we need people to play, attend, view it online and find it interesting in order to guarantee success.

I didn't like that we were unable to allow foreign players for eSM 2018 despite our best efforts and I got a bunch of angry and disappointed messages from some people that were unable to participate. Now we've been able to fix that with eSM 2019 and the SCL, but sadly it's impossible to please everyone.

Do we get ecl9 before summer?

In my opinion, the ECL with it's promotions and relegations needs a breather to stay fresh and interesting for the audience. I understand the will to hit the ECL ice over and over again, but rushing these things isn't a good idea in my opinion. Due to making the schedule work there was practically no down-time between ECL 7 and ECL 8 and we're not even done with the 8th season yet. In order for the ECL to be able to grow, we need the time to do that properly.

That being said, there will be plenty of club action before the Summer Cup, where you can join with your ECL team and we'll talk about that more a bit later.

I know some of you would like to play season after season after season of ECL non-stop and rest assured your feedback is being taken into consideration. Feel free to send me your thoughts and ideas, but let's keep this comment section about welcoming the guys and gals from North America. :)

(If you would like to discuss the future EU tournaments/leagues, you can take it here: you can take it here)

  4. Thanks for the feedback, I agree it's a very sad way to end a series, but also can't have 30 teams waiting for one pair. I agree that having some extra days (that are only allowed in extreme cases, cause otherwise there is the same problem anyways of everyone assumes they can be used) in between the rounds are a good solution as it gives the staff more tools and time to solve these things.

    This i get.

But what did they do with the original beta feedback then, if they now go back to it just to get feedback from 6 months old tuner? 🤔

I truly get your point, but here's my take on the issue:

They made changes that a lot of loud people thought were the wrong changes. Also, that feedback was given with no previous experience of the game and while people didn't yet know how to play the new game, so the opponents were also not playing the same way as they are today and thus you might have fond memories of beating everyone 10-0 when nobody could play defence. Hence you can't really go purely on the old feedback if the consensus is that you made the wrong changes based on the old feedback and that's why we are painfully reminded about some of the negative aspects of the old tuner today.

I'm not colorblind no... My wording was probably a little off there as this post colour rule is important ofcourse. But yes it's very annoying when you look at helmets when you pass (as i do many times other than looking at those dots above head) and all 12 players have 2-4 other haircolors on them is annoying to look and focus.

Thanks for the feedback. If this is a common consensus we are of course ready to look at the rule.

Now that we started with all this ingame color thing. Where is the rule where team helmet needs to be the same color as jerseys? Player without helmet is more disturbing than that post color stuff imo.

Are you color blind? (I'm not sure if this is too personal a question?)  I'm not, so it doesn't disturb me, but that's the reason why we have the post color rule in there.

I also don't in particular enjoy the missing helmets (except it makes it easier for commentary when players stand out), but I haven't heard of an argument besides "it's unrealistic" to forbid it. Does it mess with you being able to tell the opponents from your players?

I agree. But the rule is very broadly worded. The specific situation on the video is a quite clear exploitation of the game. But a fight for the puck infront of the net shouldnt count like one. Sliding across the goal to desperately keep the puck out of the net is not exploitation of the game in my opinion - even if it includes players going down. But it could still be included as an infraction as the rule is worded right now.

Agree with you. This is why all cases are manually reviewed by LA.

    New case:

    Quote

Goalie left the crease intentionally and interfered a skater from the opposing team. According to rule 9.2.2 this is not allowed.

"In reference to 9.1 (specifically “Do not exploit game mechanics or bugs to put your opponent at a disadvantage.”), goalies are not allowed to leave their crease in an attempt to interfere with a skater from the opposing team.”

Rules prohibit the goalie to leave their crease to interfere skaters of the opponent. The below clip shows that Perttilän Kommandot goalie @Reaper-80 intentionally prevents Unknown Ice Breakers skater to be the first guy touching the puck.

LA has decided to hand a two game suspension to the player. Reaper-80 will be suspended from Perttilän Kommandot's next scheduled matches against Elämäm Kiekko. In case the player will be playing those games, the two game suspension will be taken over to the next two games and the games against Elämäm Kiekko will be ruled as wins for Elämäm Kiekko irrespective of the actual result.

This just goes to show that EA and this new Game Changers program have no idea what they are doing with their game.

The Game Changers program itself isn't new, but if you're referring to the fact that currently both Game Changers that have daily contact with the dev team and provide feedback and content creators (that are not) are both branded as Game Changers - I agree they should not be called the same. I mean no offence by this to anyone, but it's simply confusing to those that are not in the program.

I'm of course in a biased position, being a Game Changer (the first mentioned version), but I couldn't disagree more about the Game Changers (nor the developers) being clueless. Lots of people with different areas of expertise are giving both broad and detailed honest feedback on a daily basis.

I agree this tuner is not what our NHLGamer community asked for, but sadly a big chunk of the critiques of the game have been spamming "bring back the beta tuner" and the studio decided to do that for a week to get the feedback. Let's face it - had they brought back only parts of the tuner, the same people would be complaining how "this is not the beta tuner". And thus here we are with the good and the bad parts of it. (These are my own observations and not some internal information)

Be sure to fill out this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FZMVS62

However, note that you can only do it once - so best to wait until you have played enough to give your thorough opinion.

Might be just me being dumb but I can't seem to find transfer dates from anywhere. 😵

This is most certainly not the case @Niksu21. The dates are in the rules that will be published in the afternoon.

Here's the info you asked for:

    Quote

The deadline for transfers is set to 23:59 CE(S)T, on the following days:

    • ECL Elite: 24.1.2019
    • ECL Pro: 24.1.2019
    • ECL Lite: 22.1.2019
