  1. I agree and that's what they should be doing; looking at who will stand in net. Not all teams want WO's though, so I think it's ok to offer an alternative for those who want to play.
  2. Left side of Playoff-tree: Group 1 (A) vs Group 2 (B) Group 3 (C) vs Group 4 (D) Right side of Playoff-tree: Group 5 (E) vs Group 6 (F) Group 7 (G) vs Group 8 (H) Group A #1 plays vs Group B #4 Group B #1 plays vs Group A #4 etc. In the second stage the teams will be re-seeded based on Points Per Game, but Groups 1-4 stay on left side and Groups 5-8 on the right side of the tree.
  3. If the reason is purely "can't get the best 6" on ice, then that is not an acceptable excuse for them to not play. We would really like to have the regular season played by Friday, but if adding one day gives us less WO's, we're willing to add Saturday as an option.
  4. When has this discussion been brought up in the first place? Would you be able to play the games on Saturday, for example, if we gave you the extra time?
  5. Hey NHL Gamers, As you may have noticed from our previous news article, EA Sports released a trailer for NHL 17 today. In case you missed it, we've embedded it below for you! We have already taken apart the first 'Vision' trailer for the upcoming NHL 17, and we made a few interesting findings - which we want to share with you! Please note: You can click on each screenshot to see them in full size! 1) Custom EASHL logos and jerseys are back The screenshot above shows an unknown team logo, which suggests it is a self-made one for EASHL. As it does not make sense to use custom logos with existing jerseys (licensing etc.), we highly expect custom jerseys to be back, too. 2) Customizable arenas Above screenshots show different arena designs with the same fantasy logo on the right hand side, which makes us believe that EASHL teams will be able to customize their own arenas to some extent. At a quick glance the screenshots may look like they are the same one over and over again, but when you look closely, you can see a difference in seat colors. 3) Tie-ups could return The trailer includes a longer snippet of 2 players motion-capturing tie-ups in front of the net. Considering they have been scratched in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of NHL 15 and 16, they could finally return for NHL 17. 4) New 'Trade in' feature for Hockey Ultimate Team The above screenshot shows a menu screen of Hockey Ultimate Team, titled 'Gold Coach Trade In'. The description says: "Complete this set by turning in any 10 Gold Coach items for a Gold Trophy Pack, which contains at least 1 Gold Trophy." We believe that EA created a new trade-in system that allows you to trade existing cards, which you draw from packs or bought off the auction house, for new packs of the same class. However, we are unsure what Gold Trophies are or allow you to do. 5) World Cup of Hockey is included We were hoping and expecting it would be in the game, but here is the confirmation - NHL 17 features the new World Cup of Hockey! 6) New celebrations The trailer concludes with several snippets of new goal celebrations, which means they replaced / updated some of the old ones or also added a few new ones. 6) New menus The game menu has received what we'd consider a major facelift. It looks very sleek, clean and what could hopefully result in a more smooth user experience; as we all know, the previous iterations of the menus have been quite sluggish to use. Apart from new animations or updated training arenas for EASHL, this is all we were able to catch. We will keep you updated with future developments about NHL 17, and expect major news to drop during the next E3 which takes places in Los Angeles from June 14 to June 16! What did you think about the trailer? Did you notice something we didn't? Please let us know in the comments below!

  7. Hey NHL Gamers, EA Sports just released their first trailer for NHL 17, called "The Vision". You can find it below: We will be back with a trailer analysis shortly!
  8. Hey NHL Gamers,April 25th marks a very special day for everyone of us, as we just passed an astonishing milestone: 1000 members!1000 members, not even half a year after we launched our first European Championship League on PlayStation 4. It's a pleasure to see such massive support from our community. No time for celebrations though, as we want to keep moving forward with the website and it's offerings (Xbox gamers, we are looking at you!). 9. I thought there was a little bit too much effects going on in the beginning, but apart from that: Oh wow! In my opinion you did an amazing job at making the video interesting and entertaining; good clips, good camera angles, good cutting etc! Very enjoyable! Loved the delay of game penalty! I was playing in that game and it was truly confusing! Please share more of these clips! I would love to feature these at the nhlgamer.com main page in the future.
  10. Exciting news NHL Gamers! EA Sports has released a teaser for their upcoming NHL 17 title. While the short clip is as much a teaser as it can be and doesn't really reveal anything about the game, you'll be excited to learn that we should be seeing the first bits of information about the game early next week; Tuesday the 26th of April, to be exact. We will keep you up to date on the subject, but note that EA also wants you to become an NHL Insider and sign up for their newsletter. I hope you are as excited as we are! Tuesday can't come soon enough!
  11. Absolutely something we will fix. Thanks!
  12. Absolutely have thought about it and will do that in the future, but I hate to disappoint people, so I'd rather work out an internal time-line before going public about the plans. 1vs1 and 2vs2 are definitely in the works and should technically be easier to pull off than the 6vs6 stuff. We love the 6vs6 community and the passion we all share for the EASHL and gaming as teams, so we want to make sure we get that working smoothly before moving on to the "smaller" stuff. The 6vs6 stuff is working quite well at the moment, but as you may have noticed, there are still some bugs to fix here and there. We had to cut some corners in order to get the first tournament running on time and some of the functionality wasn't created with more than one season in mind. This is why you might notice some weird stuff going on in some parts of the website. We are working through these kinks and once we get those polished, we are confident that starting a third season - whenever that is - should be much smoother of a ride. Very happy about the bug reports we've received, as we've been able to squish quite a few bugs before the became a problem for more users.
  13. I like the idea proposed here and we've tossed around the idea of a Summer Cup of some sort before. Like @gzell60 said, our understanding is that people don't want anything too serious in the summer at least, so we didn't have anything planned. Depending on player interest it could definitely be done. I agree with the concept that it needs to be more relaxed than your average tournament and due to the summer it could indeed be a good idea to mix things up with different rosters than during the regular ECL. Keep voicing your ideas and thoughts and we'll see what you guys think.
  14. Welcome to the community @JokerSerious - glad to have you! I hope you enjoy the league!
  15. The groups should be fixed now (thanks @Lurkins). We expect to get the player stats up soon (not tonight). We fixed the season 1 stats today with the new code and it just needs to be automated for season 2. Thanks for the feedback!
  16. Can you link us to these pages, please. Thanks!
  17. Thanks for the feedback - we'll be sure to look into this! Thanks for the feedback! I know @Lurkins has been working with this today and +/- was a tricky one. Not sure if he fixed it yet, but of course it is a priority to get that fixed. We redid the stats printing in order to make it lighter for the server, as some of you might remember the stats was a reason for our site getting shut down a couple times during last season. This should take care of that issue.
  18. Thanks to everyone (100+ people!) who joined the spontaneous stream while we did the lottery. There are a total of 48 teams, divided into 8 groups. 32 teams make the playoffs, meaning 4 teams out of each group. Groups 1-4 will be on the left side of the playoff tree and 5-8 on the right-hand side. More info will be available shortly, but for now, here are the groups: GROUP 1 Dynasty Beniserna Nordic Lightning ORIGINS Inter Iceland Nupurin Haukka GROUP 2 Sjukstugan Ace Holes HC Kattiautomaatti Vastaanottokeskus A la Carte Nordic Hockey Tigers GROUP 3 Nordic Nightmare Breaking Records TIKI TALK Victorious Secret HC Fat Cats Kontoret GROUP 4 Nordic Blizzard No Guts No Glory Refuse To Lose SIKA HC Aurinko Rising Force GROUP 5 Synergy Hockey Aapon Taikasauva The Unstoppable Warriors Written In The Stars Hc IceTigers KiekkoVesa GROUP 6 UKnightedHC Infinity Nordic Stars Silver Sword Griffins Freaky Friday LEBKOUNG MAFIA GROUP 7 Northern Stars Anahaim Ducks Finnish Panthers murohoki Helter Skelter Raakkelin Liekit GROUP 8 MUKIMIEHET Falun Coal Miners Rising Phantoms HC The Beagle Boyz Dynamo Swiss HC Shameful Knights Please note that you are not supposed to be able to join a team, nor invite players to a team at this stage. This will be made available on Sunday. On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff,
  19. Rules for season 2 are now visible - bumping thread.
  20. Hey All, I'm looking for a (mature-ish) team to play with in the EASHL and ECL. I have played OTP since 08 and EASHL since 09 and play for the team, not for personal success. I prefer the RW position, but could be interested in other positions as well. I speak fluent Finnish, Swedish (Moomin) and English. You may contact me on the forums with a private message, or: PSN: KenuFHR Skype: Kenu-fhr
  21. Small update: Please include a link to the logo of your team, if available.
  22. Hey everyone, The first ECL season on PS4 is completed and we would like to thank everyone who participated in making it as interesting of a season as it was! We are currently working on improving the experience for everyone before we head into the next season. Midway through the last season, we came up with an idea of collecting feedback anonymously in one central place, to encourage you to give us your impressions, opinions and suggestions without having to fear some sort of community 'backlash'. Discussions on the forums can heat up from time to time, with very different opinions on different questions, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it makes it hard to follow though, and we also understand that some of you simply do not have the time or passion to jump into these discussions. That's why we decided to take a more analytical approach, which also makes it easier for us staff members to keep track of what you - the community - really value. This feedback process will later include a general survey, but for now, we have created the following tool: New Feedback user account We have created a new user account called @Feedback which will be administrated by @gzell60. He will take care of all the submissions and add them to an Excel workbook, to evaluate your input accordingly. To give you an impression, here are a few things we take a look at: - Input per category (will be explained below) for priority reasons - Status tracking (all feedback will be evaluated by our staff, and we will also keep track of what has been implemented) - Participation rate So, how do you submit your feedback? Simply create a new private message, use the PM title to add a category, and send it to @Feedback. Choose one of the 3 categories: - ECL: All suggestions regarding the ECL tournament (e.g. format, rules…) - Website: All suggestions regarding the NHLGamer.com website (e.g. layout, features…) - Community: All suggestions regarding the community (e.g. staff, community interaction) Please note: We are bringing back the individual stats, so there is no need to make requests on that. We love them as much as you do. Here are a few hints on what your submission should look like: - Make your point, but keep it brief! Do not cover multiple topics in one message. Feel free to write as much as you want, but stick to one topic per message. - If you want to suggest a rule change, please copy the existing quote from the rulebook (click here for season 1 rules) and then highlight the change. - If you are missing a website feature, describe it as good as possible or give examples from other sites. - If you want to give the staff advice, please stay objective and do not attack anyone. ‘I did not like how rules were changed while the last tournament was in progess’ is excellent feedback, while ‘xxx sucks and should be banned’ is not and will also not be tolerated. You can submit as much feedback as you like, and whenever you want. Just make sure you ALWAYS send a new private message, and adjust the PM title accordingly. Please note that we mean a completely new private message - not a reply to your previous message. Why? We're expecting a lot of feedback and we don't want to miss any due to them being lost in processed threads. During the evaluation, your answers and suggestions will be separated from your username, which means all opinions are weighed equal and worth the same. Please use this chance whenever you feel the need to, it is very important to us. NHLGamer would not exist without every single one of you, and we rely on you to make it an even better place! On behalf of the NHL Gamer staff,
