@The_Alpha_Furyan how about next; captain interviews? Ask about draft, like for example what kind of team Captain @Basstian23 wanted to build and how he feels about his team after he have played with it. And to get some content into interview, why not to ask about captain's NHL16 ECL-succees, summer-plans and future-plans with NHL17 and so on. I'm pretty sure you could handle this. Every article, interview etc. would be good, now and in the future! And good job with the review.

Stream was great! Obviously it was almost 100% sure thing that there will be issues with the new draft-tool, which was nice add and easy to use btw. Nhlgamer needs more "having fun" kind of streams, and ofc. having more event based streams, like the Draft was, cant be bad. It seriously gives a lot to the basic fans and teams, when the site has real faces and personalities behind your usernames and you're not afraid to show yourselves to this community. Respect. Draft itself was fun, and I enjoyed it even though it really was nerve-racking with the waiting and thinking that will the next captain pick the exact guy I really want to be part of my team. Luckily I survived, as I'm very very happy with the team I have at the moment (thanks for the 1st overall boys btw). I was actually pretty shocked to get players like @Isidor1891(Terrorsenko) and @poliskontroll as my 2nd and 3rd round picks, not still forgetting about my later picks that we really wanted to get (@jtorro1233 and @Nikge). After these picks the other part started as we didnt know rest of our picks that well but still after scouting and talking with them, I feel good from those picks as well! After all it was really fun event, as in real life they are drafting prospects and in game world you cant do that so this Summer Cup Draft was really good substitute for real NHL draft. Exactly something what this community needs when the real games are not been played. And greatest part is this: lets play hockey! Should we call this "pre-season" or "after-season" as official offseason has ended... Good job guys!

EU Clubs looking for players - PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S
vSilenttio replied to Robsom's topic in EASHL Teams
Team: SIKA Contract: Summer try-out (for now) We are looking for finnish all-around LW. C/RD/G-ability is also something we want from you, but it's not that important if you smash it in the offense. Contact: vSilenttio @PSN or Silenttio @Skype EDIT: Abort the mission!! We've already found one. -
PSN name: vSilenttio Oh I'll tell you something!: Glad that you guys decided to try this tournament so soon after all! This way we can see what to do better next summer and how this really works and most importantly - do we have enough summer players in our community. I'm 20 years old finn, LD-only, originally Xbox-gamer. Eashl on since NHL11. I've played five years or so in SIKA and on PS4 I've spent last two seasons in Dynasty, and now I'm back in SIKA again. I would like to be captain in this tournament, and far as I know I've done my job well during my C/A-years in SIKA. Also I'm pretty sure that I could get my team working so everyone would have fun during this tournament, no matter what kind of team. Anyways, blahblahblah... Edit: Ps. I can play with people who can communicate somehow (sorry russians). Thank you.

Very interesting match ups! Looking forward to see what happens to our community's most traditional Xbox teams such as NOS, SIKA, Roosters, Kattiboys and Sjukstugan. These teams are always special on my list, good luck guys! Then again in the other hand it's very interesting to see what happens to our "new" teams; is the grass greener on the other side of the fence? We'll see. Anyone having any interest on making playoffs predictions this year?

Yes it seriously could be EASHL logo so like @The_Alpha_Furyan said, customization is back after they got the game itself rolling on its own wheels. Now when/if they'll bring the customization back, I hope it concerns whole EASHL and not just only arenas or what kind of shoulder pads your player has on. I kind of like this NHL 16's player creating, with player builds built in already, but then again it's all about being creative and so on. Would be great if these built in player builds had some flexibility, like how big/strong your playmaker is or how good or bad your offensive d-man is in the own zone. But if I had to choose from built in builds or create-a-player, my money goes to creating your own player with certain attributes that your build gives to you. But then again there should never be some "fake" or "hidden" attributes that are there, but you dont really need them in EASHL. If someone doesnt know what I'm talking about; I've heard lots of stuff about wrist shot accuracy, agility, balance, acceleration, stick checking, deking and so on, that does it really matter that if your acceleration is 90 or 75, for example. As a 110% D-man I really hope that tie-ups in front of the net are a) back and b) they work!! Sucks that you cant keep your own guy in front, when your #1 job is to keep your net clean and no, all you can do in this game is block the shot, stick check or body check if you have the guts... Five months of waiting ahead... oh boy, oh boy.

Guess this is other hockey videogame. Staff can delete/move this topic if/when they make official topic.

Future of the ECL seasons
vSilenttio replied to vSilenttio's topic in SportsGamer Feedback & Questions
Alright, this is perhaps the best one so far! I would change the bottom-4 to bottom-8 and they battle against Div1's top-8. Div1's #1 team faces Elite's 24th, 8th faces Elite's 17th and so on. Div1's teams gets the home advance in relegation battle. -
Future of the ECL seasons
vSilenttio replied to vSilenttio's topic in SportsGamer Feedback & Questions
Good stuff and I'm glad that active bloodhound like you agrees with stuff I wrote. Now some words on things that I underlined from your text. If you're talking about top teams by saying "you guys", okay good point but these days there's a lot more tough teams to compete against compared to NHL 13/14 times. Atleast that's what I think. Of course it depends where you draw the line but if we're talking about top teams, I could name handful (5-8) of teams that are going seriously after the championship this year and then there's like 15-20 teams I could call dark horses out there -> brings me 20-25 teams. So 12-team Elite league could have worked before but now as there's ~50 teams competing and people are learning a lot from top teams, so only four team chaning in Elite would be nothing in bigger picture (or more, but dont know if there's any sense changing every team except semifinal-teams or so). So I dont know about that smashing-part, but I share your opinion with the other underlined part. 30 teams is a lot, and if 16-26 teams stay on the Elite, it's maybe too much again. Yes, that's valid argument from Chimera, but has it's dark side like I said. Respect to "mid-table" teams that are competing very hard these days. Feels good on behalf of community that we are having +20 teams that you cant beat in best-of-7 series if you play half-assed, on thinking level. Compared to old times when it was way more easier. I'm not going to mention any names on who are these mid-table teams on my papers at the moment, but Silver Sword Boys, Ace Boys, Tiki Boys, Breaking Boys, Nightmare Boys, Refusing Boys, Nordic Sta.. Boys, Muro Boys, Raakkel Boys, Coal Boys, Dynamo Boys and the list goes on... And dont get me wrong, being a mid-table team these days is more like being a dark horse than shitty shitbag team (what we dont even have these days). So no need to get mad if you are (or you're not) on that list, just a little demonstration on how many good teams we really have after "top-dogs". -
Hello people! Now as there is discussion topic already about league system and then other one about divisions, I decided to throw another one out here 'cause I couldn't find any other good topic for this. I was just wondering the length of this season as it appeared be the theme of our conversation in PS4 party. During respectful Consolehockey's Xbox era there used to be always one longer tournament where we played against lots of teams (50% or 100% of opponents) with no matter of how many teams we had in the league, and then we had tournaments with same amount of teams shared into many groups. Everyone knows this, right? Two seasons per one game (NHL 13 etc). So far it have worked well but why not to add one, and make them little bit different? And reason why I'm writing about this is that we play this game a lot from September to May so that makes like 8-9 months per game. I'll get to the point. I've had couple things/questions on my mind about this so I'm going to do this by the old classy way. So, about the seasons! What is NHLGamers plan/word on this? Have there been discussion about this? I'm pretty sure that yes, but it would be fun to hear some of it as an NHL-gamer myself! Let us know. People's opinion which is big part of the conversation overall - what you guys think? Should there be two seasons on NHL game just like before, or maybe one or even two more? Personally I would add one more season because it would make those 8-9 months really matter, instead of having longer breaks from the league gaming which is the biggest reason we play this game! Would (lets say) three seasons per one NHL game make winning the championship way more meaningless? After all, it would always be Elite championship even though there would be three seasons for example. Instead of two champions on one game, how about three as there's time for it. If not, does people enjoy these league gaming breaks? Sometimes you wait couple weeks for the next season, and then sometimes it's a month and especially during Autumn it can be 2-3 months without single tournament game! So, here are my thoughts on this in case people wants more league gaming during nine months. From now on, I'm talking about well-known 30-team Elite league. If you're already pissed off or there's already something wrong very badly, please stop reading and let me know! Well, after all this is all my imagination, so no need to get mad... IMO, there should be three seasons. These should be all smaller seasons where you play against 50% of the Elite teams, so two conferences -> 8 teams per conference continue their road after regular season. Simple. So shorter regular season would last about 5 weeks, add the playoffs and you have 9 weeks combined which is little bit over 2 months with the shorter season. Playful demonstration where we know the exact level of our Elite teams, so it might sound funny. First season starts on 15th/October/2016. That gives about 30 days to play next game before ECL starts so about four weeks before anything serious starts. Players/teams might be little bit shaken after long summer etc. but shorter time to play around with your team and so on, could bring little bit stability and seriousness into this community through the year. Atleast that's what I want, and perhaps the Staff too? Okay so lets add those two months and we have new champions on 1st/January/2017, christmas break counted in. Little break here, lets say couple weeks. 16th/January/2017 is a new season opener time, new elite teams risen and some of the former Elite's bottom teams fallen. And lets add 9 weeks again -> we have new champions on 19th/March/2017. I know, it sounds very tight but thats why your team has +8 players, right?! Get it all going on again on 3rd/April/2017 and add those 9 weeks again -> we have this year's third champions on 4th/June/2017. Wow, let the offseason begin finally as we would have three wanted Elite Trophies shared on one year! Or then just make smaller Elite league (like 16/24 teams, 8 makes the playoffs) and so on, this way it wouldn't be that tight. Ugh, I dont know. Any opinions about anything I wrote? And damn this might be very crazy topic opening after all but I hope this wakes up people to discuss this "how many seasons per year" thing. Well, I dont know if it's a thing or not but surely something when you think the future of ECL. I know that playing three +2 month seasons might be crazy between Autumn and beginning of the Summer. With smaller Elite leagues, you could do many, many seasons during one year. So everything here is pure speculation, no need to get mad! Again all this is just creation of midnight talking and I'm sure that NHLGamer has their plans already (about the divisions etc etc etc) but still, it's forum so... Comments? Anyone?

Okay, thanks @Kenu! As you can see, I added poll so we can see the numbers.

I dont know how to do this better than this, so here it goes. Here's regular players thoughts: Max. two different levels of playing. Elite division and then rest - thats it As long as we (teams and players) dont get paid from playing this game overall + ECL, this wont work. People with not that much time to play, cant be as good as those ones are who play alot and I mean, alot! PS4 has now like ~50 teams and yeah, it could be split into divisions but hell no for three different levels. It would definitely break the community somehow, as there would be "those elite guys" and then basic boys and rest who dont have enough time/skill/interest-combo in their hands. I'd rather have healthy and competitive community than just competitive community. Personally I dont see people sticking into their teams just because of this. Yeah, there's some teams who have been there for years with same name and same core (more on Xbox, less on PS?) but its like 15-25% of teams. Working division system would need serious jump from 20% to 80%, for example. And then these "new" teams start from the championship just like the real new teams, if they want to split up for some reason. Offtopic: I dont get this team hopping thing. I've played now like 5-6 years and so far I've been in two teams (when you dont count the "lock-out season during NHL15). ELITE: 30 teams -> 16 playoff-teams. I dont know how it could work, just an idea that jumped in my head right now; bottom-8 teams fights playout games and four teams that lose their playout round (best of 5 or 7), goes to Championship level and then four best teams rise from Championship. I like the playout idea, because that would bring the same danger from dropping out to 22th/30 team that what it brings to 28th/30 team for example. 22th battles 30th team in a playout series and by winning that series, you secure your team in Elite. Thoughts or just too difficult/strange to make it happen? Sorry if it's hard to understand my points.

Yeah this seems to be the most common opinion what comes to summer gaming. Great that Staff are open to this kind of discussion and support people. Gives me as an regular ECL player good feeling about management and future even though this might not be this summer's plan. About schedule and pace of it, I'm absolutely voting for full regular season with not that tight schedule. I mean c'mon, offseason stats on June or somewhere there and next game will be released on mid-September so there's like three months time to play one tournament. Not so bad. @BUM3R red my mind about sharing 16 teams, well done. Then again on playoffs, they could be best-of-3 or best-of-5 instead of best-of-7 where you usually need two different nights to get longer series played. With best of 5, only one night should be enough as five games per night is not that much and takes like two hours, so one playoff round wouldn't be that hard to get over with in 7-9 days. How many teams would be enough? Minimum should be like 10 teams, 8 into playoffs and thats it. @Billy44205's idea about playoffs that everyone should be in, I'm not comfy with it. I do understand though the point in it; #summergaming #offseason #play4fun #mixedteams #playwithbilly but still, it's a fight about Summer Cup! Well, lets ask this way; who wants to give free wins to Oodap and his henchmen? NOT ME! Well, perhaps not the best example but hope so you get the point. Should there be some kind of language wall in the lottery? Lets say if there's two teams; A-team with well known guys from Sweden and Finland plus one swiss - and then B-team with four russians, couple french guys and one finnish brunkalainen. No offense but shouldn't this be fun? Like you can talk with people and stuff... Dont get me wrong people. OFFTOPIC: @Kenu - have you guys thought about sharing your future plans to community? For example how many moderators you are going to add, what kind of tournaments you are going to have (1vs1, 2vs2?), possible awards and so on. Or are these kind of things too fragile to publish? Would be fun to read about your plans, even though you couldn't tell that much about them.

Well it's good to see atleast that we have some interest on the topic! I'm pretty sure that whole Summer Cup as an new idea could be too early for this summer but in the future having certain moderators, rules and pre-registered summer players/teams ready in lets say, uh May, this could work. Right? Good idea from Billy, about mixing teams up. Throw every player's name into lottery and lets see what happens! Would be more interesting than having same teams or certain groups playing together, but I'll go both ways in this one. Also I'm with Heksa in that part where ESC should kept easy as possible, just like summer is! You dont want to cause stress with tight schedule or have pain in the ass about who's gonna make it and when etc. Btw, Skype groups should be a must in this one, to keep more "random" groups together. And like you guys said, ESC would be great opportunity to get experience with new people and even better players. Billy wrote well about Summer Inc and I'm with you on that, gave me atleast good experience even though there wasnt anything serious on the line except our names... Maybe I'm too late with this when you think about upcoming summer, but having whole next year, building something new and fresh for this community, could be worth it if we get right and interested people working on it. Nice to hear something from Staff too, even though I changed couple words with Janbo before I started this topic here as he said just go ahead and write about it and so I did. I'm going to add poll later about this that could we have bigger interest on this from whole community, hope so people just gives their voices on it. Also I'm going to write about it's regular season and playoffs, but now I dont have enough time for that. Later and keep them words coming if there's something left!

Hello gamers! I've been wondering this whole summer thing here and there sometimes, since we had some very tight hockey played on NHL14's offseason mostly between HC Sika and OODAP's Summer Inc, months before NHL15 was released. This also happened on NHL13's offseason but in smaller scale (less players to take part). Could there be official cup/league gaming played during official hockey offseason? How easy it would be to make it work, by this I mean amount of admins etc. needed. Would people be interested? How many teams there would/should be? Obviously summer is great time to get some fresh air from whole hockey genre (watching/playing/living it). But I love playing NHL, plus I was in the military service from 2015's July till March 16th so yeah, personally I have missed alot compared to you guys! But surely this is topic to talk about, right? Lots of questionmarks tells pretty much about the whole summergaming, that could it work etc. About the whole Cup, amount of games and so on, I'm just going to throw something here what could be talked about... How interested NHLGamer's staff see this whole Summer gaming? Any interest at all from the management? Secondly, how many NHLGamer's moderators it could need. Obviously you can always have new assistants for this, but still. Which would be better; longer basic kind of league (regular season + playoffs) or Cup format (play through brackets, step by step)? Make sure that ESC (or ESL) is totally different thing than original ECL, but still have something to motivate players. Dont know how to say this better than this but hey; it's not shame to win official league even though it would be just summer gaming and there wouldn't be that many teams to take part. Pace. How many games per week? 2-3, or just "get these 10 games played in next 3 weeks, and then we'll have playoffs", for example. Perhaps most important thing; is our community interested to play some hockey during summer against friendly, well-known teams/players? I know that time to talk about this is not perhaps the most great one, but atleast I got it out from my mind so community can discuss about it. Sorry if there's some mistakes, I'm trying! Have a great spring and even better ECL!

Always a pleasure to have new faces around, welcome! See you soon on the ice as we play against each other in the group stage this week

Cmon boys, join ECL!!
