    SIKA

We're now on Facebook (Team SIKA) as well - go give us a like. SIKA's Twitch has reached almost 600 followers now. We had about 60-70 foll's last June and we thought it would be cool to get couple hundred more before 2017. Christmas day #600hype -stream starts later today, around 15:00CET. Spider (our main host) plays some hockey, listens good music and drinks good old finnish booze. What could go wrong? Our ECL 3 journey continues tomorrow or on tuesday against Rynnäkköviikset. Big, big week ahead. Merry Xmas peeps!

  4. I knew this was unclear in the first place, excuse for that. So even though you dont guess correct winner, but your result has right numbers in it, you get one point for having the numbers correct. Nothing else.
  5. What the title says! I wanna see if this could work here. Lets get our playoff predictions listed here, round by round. Because we like tl compete on lots of stuff, for every guess - you get points. Correct winner and correct result: three points Correct winner: two points Correct result: one point (wrong winner but numbers match) So to be clear here - you can get max. 3 points per one pair. If nothing's right, no points. If you get right numbers, but wrong winner, you'll have one point. Having only the winner right, you get two points out of three and then both being correct (winner team and the result) gives you three points. Copy & paste from here so it's easier to check our results later. FIRST ROUND RESULTS: Northern Stars - Free From Rodents 4-2 Written In The Stars - Nosebleed 4-0 X Factor - Kattiautomatti 4-0 Finnish Roosters - Alliance HT 4-0 Nordic Blizzard - murohoki 4-0 Dynasty - Knight Aces HC 4-1 Refuse To Lose - TIKI TALK 3-4 Fat Cats - Inter Iceland 4-0 White Trash - Northern Ascendancy 2-4 WoKongo - Nordic Nightmare 0-4 HC Checkmate - MUKIMIEHET 0-4 Sjukstugan - Nordic Lightning 0-4 Rynnäkköviikset - SIKA 3-4 Silver Sword Griffins - Synergy 3-4 FCMiners - Aapon Taikasauva 1-4 No Guts No Glory - Laser HT 0-4 Let the games begin. 6. SIKA presents: Truth of Hockey S1E2 - Lets Talk Playoffs Tuesday 18:00FIN, 20/12/2016. Our guests this time are @Dominointi (Laser HT) and @Elmeri7 (Nordic Nightmare). Me, @SpiderRoyal and @Anbtbl will represent SIKA. Our main subject is only playoffs this time as we will talk about other stuff next time - on our third episode of ToH. Yes, and we know - all of our members play in Group 2 but we will try our best! In our third episode (coming in January) - we will have @tbnantti and @Dominointi as our guests - third guest spot is still under work. @imosi will replace Anbtbl in SIKA's side of the table. Subjects of third episode are going to be ECL 3 playoffs, ECL 4, general NHLGamer stuff (what is going on?) and some specific cases that we will announce later. Also, we will have story time (atleast I hope so) as we are more than interested to hear and share stories of Imosi, Seppo and Antti. Cheers boys!

  8. SIKA presents: Truth of Hockey - S1E1 (Youtube.com) Here it is, in finnish. We would like to get some feedback as well so feel free to share your thoughts on the podcast in this topic. We had +60 live viewers from start to beginning, and at one point we reached 72 viewers so it went pretty good. We're glad you guys came to listen the truth of hockey. Thanks to viewers, for your comments, questions and everyone who participated in the podcast itself. Next episode will be streamed on January 15th(ish) at latest, where we will have SpiderRoyal using his computer and Elgato to make the show more entertaining for the live viewers. In the second episode we will talk mostly about the playoffs and everything else what is going on in NHLGamer.com. I hope we would receice some kind of feedback now, to make it better for the next episode - word is free.

  11. Plymalkin Previous team: Drop Zone New team: SIKA We needed third active solid Dman to share D's responsibilities and we asked our new guy to play with us before the ECL 3 so it's not totally new contact for us. Malkin wanted to move forward, and who knows if he has big future in SIKA as well. You never know. Welcome, @plymalkin!
  12. Gigantic rosters? Just because they would have chance to part of Elite team's roster, with playing 0 games? 8-10 is normal roster, what is gigantic? The problem here is not that huge. It'll be just like it is today. Feels like the problem is that you (or other bottom teams) dont have easy road no more to the Top league, to play in the league where everyone wants to play. Most of your arguments around your point of view (low tier team) dont convince me at all. @Jnmxxx has a fair point here but I think playing 30 regular season games (5 week time period) would be enough to solve that where you belong to. @cHIIMEERa said it well: that would bring Divisions more closed than they will be with this system. This brings more hunger and victory feeling to teams who go far in Div2 & Div3 playoffs. I mean seriously, if you're last in 30-game season, it's time to give someone else the chance. For an example, if SIKA plays very bad Elite season and Sjukstugan plays big in Div2 by winning the whole Pro league, I'd say they deserve the place in the Elite and we would need to shake things up to be better next season.
  13. I hope we could get some new opinions here. C'mon everyone, now it's your time to say something if you're not happy with things that NHLGamer is doing.
  14. @Jesus, I get it mostly, but how it's going to be different with top players playing only in top divisions. When this have happened before? When some superstar player has just decided to get some low tier team to the playoffs, or anything like that? Unknown did it with NOR but Unknown didn't have full team that season, and "half" of them got NOR to next level. Cool story but not the one we're looking for here. They could still make stories like this happen though. When I think these things, I always think how this and that guy from that team would feel about this. I just see big opportunity here to other teams earn their spots with the big boys, and make name for themselves by playing. Building the team - if they're new - learning the game and still playing against better teams in EASHL. That's how you get better, that's how you practice. Playing two league-games per season against some good teams is nothing compared to grinding EASHL - odds are pretty bad for the new team anyways if they would play in the Div2 with second biggest dogs in the world. C'mon guys. For once, try to think three divisions positively. These days there are so many good teams around that there will be tough teams and players in Div2 next season, for sure. Why we shouldn't have everybody abroad? I cant see the big problem here. Sure, bad teams will play in Div3, okay, so what, thats logical right? If/when some "good" team gets relegated to 3div, I think they are in the right spot then as some other more hungry teams have battled for spot in the 2div, and earned it. Less scaring of things changing and more competing. Period. And @cHIIMEERa, I think they have amateur leagues, teams and players in real life as well and they're not mad about what their called of. How about Platinum, Gold and Silver championships? I know right...
  15. Wait. There's big chance to earn your place in the better league - not only once a year but three times per one NHL-game and you use word "closed". Uhh... Dont get me wrong. I understand your point of view here but these arguments you're trying to build around it are not matching with the ultimate point. Great news for our growing community. C'mon boys!
  16. This is valid point, for sure. It's all on how community takes the divisions. If people take it with good, hungry attitude, I see no problems. And to be honest, med/low tier teams play much more EASHL on top teams, and then face them once in ECL. So wouldn't be that big change after all, they just would play more meaningful games on teams that battle from the same spots as they do. Divisions will share the big, rising community of ours to different levels anyways. Having only two would be less in my opinion, and if we would have two, the Top division should have 24 teams at maximum as otherwise it wouldn't be "Elite". Three then, it depends on how people takes it so yeah, I understand, a lot more risky business. Lots of interesting points there from @Jesus and @tbnantti, but personally I would just love to have real Top league. And then if I'd play in Div2, I would like to keep it more like Top league is (not facing 80% of the community as in the end we dont need 50 games to solve who's the best). And @Tuukka.R, who's fighting here? Pls. It's called discussion.
  17. I'm perhaps one of the few people that wanted ECL 3 to be played like this one more time, so you're thoughts on me are far away from being true. I've enjoyed this but we dont have to do it three times per year. We've seen it already. "Kill the competetiveness" by adding more meaningful games? This is something I just dont get. We have two very different opinions on this, that is all. Like I said, we'll see.
  18. So lets have two big divisions, just because of midtable teams wouldn't create their own league and have bigger chance to win real (easier) championship? Nah, sounds boring. This is the way to make NHL-gaming (EASHL) go next level. To make this matter, to make this more competetive and real what it has never been before. Why should we basically do the same stuff over and over again - and get nowhere with it. I guess we know what happened to Consoleblogspothockey? No more conference bs - you know, as we split the one big league to half and have zero chance to play ECL against other elite or good midtable teams. Making Divisions work is not easy. It's not only making two/three different groups of teams and let them play between eachother. What you guys scare in playing more big games? Isn't it the point of eSports? To play as competetive as we can. I'm not gonna carry on with this conversation as I have already told what I want and wish from NHLGamer now and in the future. Just my opinions, and hopefully Gamer's as well. We'll see it tonight.
  19. 30 in Div1 (ECL) might not be quite competetive enough as there would still be too big skill diffeferences between top and "ok" teams. And if there was 16 in Div1, and all the rest in Div2, it would be the same but in Div2 that time and I think with three divisions, the game will be more fun for everybody. I like the idea that teams should play against their own level teams - for an example: "Elite team" playing against "possible quitter team" or just literally "amateur team" is not fun or competetive to any team. And lets be honest here - we can divide our community's skill easily to three divisions by just looking at our teams right now. We have top teams, midtable teams and teams that take it in the ass even from midtable teams. Just being realistic and saying it like this so everyone here understands what's the point of Divisions. Personally I think that NHLGamer will take huge steps for NHL-scene with their new, fixed Division-system. Ask anyone who seriously respects the competetiviness big time, and meanwhile also looks to the future - not just next season.

    SIKA

ECL Post-game: SIKA vs. Synergy Hockey 4/12/2016
  21. First episode's name is Pilot. Just like I wrote earlier, our guests will be Plee and Janbo. Btw, Janbo said that he can translate the episode and make some kind of summary from the most important subjects etc. Episodes will be shared in different part of subjects. Pilot, for example, will be built like this: - Cast; talking little bit of ourselves and our teams - What is Truth of Hockey? - NHLGamer generally - ECL 3 - Divisions and discussion around it - Questions & Answer ...and maybe something else as well. Pilot will be our first and probably the longest episode ever, so there will be lots of discussion. I want to add that even though we talk on divisions etc. in the Pilot, we will talk about these things later with other guests as well, as we want to hear what people think on these subjects. Questions? If you want your questions to be answered in the Pilot, send them to me privately in NHLGamer. If you're not finnish, we will discuss the question in finnish and have shorter answers in english here, on this topic. We will list every question before the show starts, but you can ask them as well in the stream chat while we're doing the show. Spider will be participating with the chat during the show.
  22. Truth of Hockey is our brand new talkshow program. This topic will work as its information- and discussion topic. Language we speak is going to be finnish, but if we decide to have european guest(s), we will have english episodes as well. ToH will be hosted by me, and other regular faces in it will be @Anbtbl and @SpiderRoyal. We will have two guests per episode, and Pilot episode's guests are going to be @plee999 and @janbonator. Program will be streamed on SIKA's Twitch channel, and we will upload every episode to our Youtube channel as well. Length of one episode will be from 45 minutes to two hours. First season is supposes to be five episodes long, but we dont have any certain schedule atleast for now, in publishing the episodes. Point of doing this is basically to create something new to our community and wake up some discussion. Things will be said straight, but we will try to keep it clean but I cant promise anything. If someone has - lets say questionable or rough - opinion on some object we're discussing, he can say it. I repeat, things will be said straight. Finally, we want to make clear that this is SIKA's show but we still act as individuals. Any questions, feedback and ideas are very welcome. Season 1: #1. Pilot (finnish) #2. ECL3 Playoffs: Round 1 (finnish) #3. ECL3 Playoffs: Round 2 (finnish) #4. English please (english) #5. Recap & Future - 5/2/2017 (english) Season 2 starts on late-February.
  23. I guess not at the moment. First thing you could do, is list your team members here and tell us something about it, like what is your goal and so on. Good luck in the future - gotta dig your name!
  24. This is something what Staff could really work on. Guys, make it happen. Bring him back. "Saint, Sinner, Spirit - OODAP"
