Registered members are expected to treat each other with respect by not diverting to overly abusive language. This applies to all league/tournament related conversations conducted on NHLGamer.com, or direct communication between players on external sources if proof can be provided that also includes the context of the conversation.

People can talk about respect for the league and respect for the game all they want, and how it is ridiculous that LA gives out WO’s at this stage in a ”competitive eSports league”, but respect for the league is a two-way street - you and me, as players, should respect the league enough to have the games played within the allocated time period.

Enforcer defenceman: Pros - decent speed Cons - very slow So which one is it? Never a bad thing to get more material here, though!

Very much agreed! I’ve played with him a couple of times, and he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing! I haven’t really ever played with Lämsä, so I can’t say anything about being on the same side but the points do seem to keep coming. Nice work, I like reading these articles.

I think a week is more than enough to play 4-7 games. If you’re not able to field your best lineup, that’s on you I think.

How many times per second will you exactly be able to go down with L1? -
I don't see a point in placing obviously stacked in lite only to destroy the teams, as it goes completely against the idea of the divisions in the first place. I know the staff underlined the desire for a certain type of longevity with teams, but I see that as merely limiting the competitiveness of the game. However, in order for this type of system to be possible, there has to be a specific way to rate teams and their level. There are various different ways to do that, but the simplest way would be to assign personal ratings to players and when a certain threshold is reached when the player ratings are added up, the team is granted access to Pro if there is room. Say, playing x games in elite the previous season grants a player y rating. On top of that, if he's a forward and finishes in the, say, top-20 in points, he gets z points on top of that. Have rules like this for every position, where the player ratings are in black and white, something tangible to judge a team's ability objectively. This is obviously just a rough example to give you an idea of how a team rating could be achieved through personal performance. I do understand that some players in lite would actually relish the challenge of facing excellent teams in the lowest tier, so their voices should obviously be heard as well.

I like the introduction. That way I know if the podcast will even interest me. Should definitely keep it in my opinion. As for the actual podcast, regurgitating the stats and/or games played isn't very captivating to the listener. Needs some meat on the bones. Keep it up, though!

I've only played the game for three days, EASHL mainly, but I do like the changes they have made. It feels like the "bubble" is gone when you're stickhandling. Last year, if you got behind the defender with the puck, there was no way he could come back from it as you could just protect the puck away from him at a slower speed than the defender was going. The stickhandling is a lot slower, and could maybe be a bit faster, but I don't think it's that bad of a thing if it stays this way. Way less one-man show puck protection non-sense to find an open passing lane. Practice mode will definitely come in handy once the full game comes out to memorize the new dekes. The way the game plays currently promotes a teamplay oriented approach to the game, especially with the chop being nerfed. You can actually use saucer passes more, especially in the neutral zone, which is good and allows for a more creative approach. L1 is ridiculous and something has to be done to remedy that. I wonder if it's used by the NA teams, or if it's a EU thing.

New Player, New Team searching for Danish players.

Thanks for clarifying, Jimbo! I'm surprised such a dumb person knew something like that. -

There are three league levels; Lite, Pro and Elite. Lite and Pro are free to join. If your team wishes to play in ECL Elite, you have to earn promotion through ECL Pro. ECL Lite is meant for the more casual gamers - to have fun and get a taste of ECL action ECL Pro is the league with the most participants, featuring a wide variety of teams, with some of them getting promoted to ECL Elite at the end of this season. ECL Elite features the 16 best teams of the previous season. The last tournament for NHL 17 is ongoing, but the first tournament for NHL 18 usually starts around October. The registration page will appear on this forum around late Sept/early Oct. Once you have registered, the league administration will come up with a schedule and you will complete the games through the Challenge Club -feature in EASHL and report the stats on this site. -
I don't know enough about the Synergy-SSG case to really comment and it seems like the staff was between a rock and a hard place with the decision. The Christmas holidays are definitely a tricky time to schedule any kind of games, let alone ECL playoffs where people understandably want to play with their best 6. However, there was a case in the Rynnäkköviikset-SIKA -series where SIKA's goalie froze up during a Rynnäkköviikset attack. RV tried their damnest to score on him but couldn't capitalize on it. I think later on RV's goalie froze and SIKA capitalized on it. Where's the outrage? Another thing to keep in mind is, is it commonplace enough to add a rule about it? If there was a rule on it, people could hypothetically fake a glitch during the last minute of the game to gain immunity against a late minute attack. I don't really whether rule or no rule is the right call, and I'm glad we have a staff to decide on that.
