It has nothing to do with the fact that you as a LA should stand for LA decisions and not blame your fellow LA-colleagues. You can still motivate decisions without excusing yourself. I know, cause I too have been tgma. You can ask @iSvamp if I stood by the rules and decisions or not.

So if I understand you correctly...you had no answer and no arguments to my post, except trying to undermine my credibility by bringing up last playoffs (where you are dead wrong...but I won't baited into a lengthy discussion about that, except I told LA weeks before the situation and got the go ahead which was then retracted) and also declaring I have done nothing for the community?

I see Kenus quality control when bringing in new LAs hade taken a dive lately :/

I would join...but only if some of you leave.

It is honestly very sad to read this kind of stuff (mostly from a very few selected people as well).

First of all, if anyone ever backed LA decisions during this tournament it is @OxtreeLAT, even when his very own team was affected by them. Also, I don't see how he blamed me and the other members here by saying his own opinion differs from the team's decision. Opinions - how do they work?

As he pointed out already, there are a couple of aspects to this game that will always lead to controversial discussions, because we are not able to cover and resolve them in a way that makes all people happy.

I really appreciate that personal attack of yours against everyone involved in the website though, as it finally reveals you're only here to cause damage. It takes more than witty comments to run the project besides all the full-time jobs we carry out. My personal opinion: You would not be able to perform your tasks as a Staff member for more than 2 weeks.

    Best wishes.

So our goalie play aggressive and its our goalies fault that he frozed ? This decision is a joke. Sry LA but are you really that stupid with all respect ofc ? LA made easy and WRONG decision. NL scored goal because goalie was frozed for while. Thats a fact. Whats comes to fair play rule obviously thats not fair. So LA mates if u feel rules arent important then plz leave. Peace and love

I can understand you are not happy with the decision as it affects your team, but I can assure you we don't take decisions like these lightly, because they are the most difficult ones to make. Basically, we need to figure out what precedent each possible decision sets for the future, and which one causes less harm. Tell me: Do you think the comment section would be less energetic if we went the other route?

Sometimes I wish people were able to turn down their initial anger and reflect on all the other things that belong to these decisions first, before starting to post personal attacks just because they are not pleased.

This. Attention-seeking and pathetic provocation from Crazy Taxi aka Huora_Turppa. So you can do that (?) and if target owns too explosive personality, he get punished. 10 games for Totalii is a joke in this case. Cmon and relax staff. Me and myself are just saying straight our feelings to you. Army or not, I defend our skaters. Peace.

@ADETIKKI Our SKY needs us! Go with the flow with the mornings bro! <3

We felt like the video was in line with the typical amount of "banter" on this website (no drastic content, titanic soundtrack - nothing exceptional). I think all of you know the chatbox very well now, and so far we were very forgiving with everything that was written in there. As long as we are able to see some humor in the things that are posted, we are okay with it. Nobody likes total censorship.

However this time, by accusing someone of being mentally disabled in addition to posting a personal image without asking for permission has crossed this line by a mile. It was a rude, unreflected attack with no humor whatsoever. If anyone of you thinks this sort of offense is fine, I'd ask you to please leave the website for an indefinite amount of time.

This is something that not a single one of the staff members will ever tolerate and we will continue to hand out draconic penalties for this behaviour in the future.

    Thank you.

This does not work at all. Never trust EA-servers. I think things like this should be done in off-season and test them throughout.
I´m too old and confused for changes in mid-season :(((

The thing is, when we did a few test runs, we never ran into the issues we are seeing currently. At some point you have to open it up to the public, and that's where you usually uncover more issues (just like in this case) :) If you feel like you can't get it done correctly at the moment, please wait before submitting anything and see if the situation improves.

Awesome addition! With how the in-game stats work in NHL 17, would it ever be possible for the API to automatically extract the goal scoring and penalty details as well? To me, those are more laborious to report than the individual stats. This is already a nice timesaver, though.

From what we gathered, there is a difference between what stats are offered in-game, and what stats are offered by this API we are using here. At this point, there is just no way to extract timestamps and so on from this API.

However, we plan to reach out to EA and hand over this feedback. I agree, it's not the 100% solution we were hoping for at this stage, but it's a good starting point and I think there is a realistic chance of improvements on EA's side.

  5. I understand some of the concern in here, however I want to add to two of the points mentioned here:

    3 instead of 2 divisions

It is an important factor when it comes to timing. In my opinion (which does not represent the whole staff), it is important to create a dynamic environment which can only be achieved if it is possible to make noticeable leaps within one year (here: go from Div 3 to Div 1 within one year). With 2 divisions, I'm not sure if we meet the purpose of a division system. It would be no different to the current system if we break it down to the basics.

    Player base / available players

32 teams in Div 1/2 will not bloat their roster with an infinite amount of players (it does not work). In fact, if we compare the amount of players (32 x 10 = 320) with the amount of registered members, we end up with lots of free agents. On top of that, I have a feeling the general EASHL player base grew slightly compared to last year. Also, don't underestimate the effect we as a community can have to draw existing NHL players into the EASHL mode if we do exciting stuff.

Were are not even a close of those biggames like CS:GO, etc.  and still you trying to make this something like that in this system. its not possiple with this community side.

I agree about the community size so far, but what is your alternative? Wait and see until it's crumbling down?

I'm not that kind of guy. And I know Kenu and the other staff guys aren't either. Let's just act and do new things instead of shutting down, eh?

How is the team thing gonna work. I guess "private drop in" means Chicago vs San Jose etc?

No, we are using EASHL drop in games (I think they are called "Quick Play", but I'm not sure... never used English language in the game before) where you can invite players to a private lobby. I think I can put up a short tutorial before the tournament starts. This way we avoid balancing issues with players like Crosby, Stamkos etc.

Are those questions for real? In what way can it be better to draft a worse player than you could? What is "a solid base"? How are average players more "solid" than elite players?

Yes they are for real. You assume that only our hardcore base participates in this Draft version, but when you take a look at the registrations, this is definitely not the case.

Would you play with 3 top attackers but 2 unknown defenders who never played a single ECL game before? It's definitely possible, but I doubt that will be more effective than having an average attacking line and an average defense. I'm certain there will be a few interesting picks.

And as last year, this is the very first time a Draft ECL takes place. If it turns out to be different, there will be adjustments for next time

I wrote that rule. The default game day and time is first and foremost a deadline before which teams had to schedule their game, and in the event that the game would never be scheduled, it would be assumed that teams were gonna play at default game time. And since it is primarily a deadline, it is defined by an instant, not a time window. Teams were always free to play one week before default game time, or one week after if they scheduled it. Please explain to me what part of the rule I got wrong.

This was true for Season 1, but scheduling rules had been changed for Season 2.

Now... What happens after teams haven't played their game  after the last day of their default week? Isn't the end of that week effectively doing the same thing as the old default game time? I argue that there is no more freedom with that default week thing as there was before, you just warn team a week in advance that the deadline is in a week. Which is better, mind you, but only needed because people did not fully understand the flexibility of the old rule in the first place.

In comparison to the changes we made in Season 2, this will be more relaxed. Also, keep in mind this Draft ECL is aimed to be finished until the NHL 17 demo - so a certain schedule will have to be in place.

1 ) Can you explain the reasoning behind the rule "All signed up players will be seeded into teams with a size of 8 players" ? Like, why did you choose to have the smallest size of team possible in a tournament where players might not be very available? Also, doesn't the smaller team size contradict the goal of playing with various players ? Or was that not one of the goals of this tournament ?

There will be some sort of mechanic to ensure that all players of a roster play a certain amount of games (because we want to get newcomers 'into the game'), and by keeping the roster size low we want to increase the importance of the draft:

    - Does it make sense to pick the overall best players in the beginning as there will be a chance you end up with unknown / less experienced players in your roster (which are required to play)?

    - Does it make sense to pick average players from the beginning which will result in a roster without stars / newcomers, but instead a solid base?

These are the questions that team captains will have to answer for themselves :) Of course it is possible we will adjust the roster size according to the number of registrations, but this is what we aim for now.

2 ) Can you explain how the rule "There will be default game weeks instead of default game days -> more freedom" will actually give more freedom? From my understanding the default game day/time was just the deadline to Schedule the game, and you had a 2 week window to play it. It just seems to me like you turned "default game day" into "last day of the default game week". I don't see the point, so can you explain why this leads to more freedom?

Last ECL season we increased the importance of our default game days, to the point where we had to hand out walkover losses when one team could not play on these days even though they would be available on other days. This time it won't be as strict, so every day is a default day. I think you got the concept of 'default game days' wrong here.
