This is the result of what Kenu has been working on for the last 12 months and the reason staff was so conservative all this time when it came to prize money etc... in the end, it paid off
Congrats, Mr. Lehtinen!

All this talk about some Swedish hockey club that a total of 7 people in Germany have heard of.
And no love at all for the new ECL logotype.

- ECL Elite license: Teams in ECL Elite will be required to pay for an ECL Elite license in order to play for the prize pool (more details to follow).
I assume this means the license is still voluntary?

Apparently the latest feature is to turn off people's vibration and pass assist entirely even though they didn't even leave the dressing room in between games. Why is this not mentioned in the changelog?
Also, players being spawned as Joe NHL and countless resets throughout games.
It's not just the fact that the gameplay has changed for the worse, they also break countless other things along the way. And it's starting to get annoying to a point that I actively question myself if I wanna turn on the console at all.

The joining into a dressing room of a team that you're not a part of is a feature.
Joining private clubs without approval is NOT a feature. I repeat: NOT A FEATURE. It's bad design.

I think that's a popular opinion actually. The gameplay changes are definitely centered around EASHL, and turn out a little less awesome in HUT/VS as of right now.

I agree. He really sounds like he cares about the community a lot, even though he's being fired at for years now (although that's something that just comes along with being a video game producer I guess). I'd like to know if he is such a chill guy internally as well!

Will add that, thanks!

Congratulations. Well deserved. Interesting backstory behind the organisation as well.
I'm just curious. Is there any content creator or streamer that can make a living out of playing NHL?
Nasher was already mentioned and @Eki at least made a year's living already, which is not a bad start

I think another reason for the situation is the fact that people have been exploiting the literal shit out of the timeout feature in the past to cause various game breaking bugs, and they might have trouble figuring out exactly why these things were happening. Not sure though.

EA should hire @MartindalexC just to write changelogs for all their games.

That was pretty much already the case in the beta version, outside of a few isolated cases.

There was no challenge room in the NHL 18 beta either, so no reason to worry? Most of the stuff is removed for these builds to keep file size and complexity low.

It's a small thing but I love that they removed broken sticks from online play. Some will argue that such random mishaps are a part of real hockey and aught to be included, but I'm all for decreased randomness and any shift toward a purely skill-based game.
Agreed! Something that I was planning to point out as well. Less RNG in online games is only a good thing.

Where is Frostbite though?

Never had a doubt Europe would win. Especially with Eki playing on a whole other level currently.
Congratulations!!!

Versus was the easy way to build and I do think that there is not much soace to grow for it anymore. It is just not interesting enough.
Oh, I promise it can be far more interesting than a single game elimination system with 1024 players (yes, looking at you, NHL). It's right there in our drawers.
Their system proves nothing, as you only face a ridiculously small amount of participants. And have I talked about the fact that playing brackets is so 1990?
Anyway, I think both 1 vs. 1 and 6 vs. 6 need to be tackled with the same priority. And we're working on it.

Go and find out what's the usual ruling in sports when a team have finished 2/3 of the season and then talk about what's fair. This is an amateur ruling and stinks of lack of experience.
So you think it's fair to have some teams profit off this decision, while others that previously lost are just shit out of luck?
No. I have to disagree as well.

Using Google Translate with German is about as pointless as using it with Russian. You'll end up with complete garbage most of the time.
