looking for a team (preferably pro div) that focuses on fast, simple passing style of play.

type of player who can make a between the legs no look bank saucer through 4 guys and around 10 sticks, but will as well pass the puck to a covered teammate when 1-on-1 with the goalie.

contact me either here or on PSN for a quicker response

  2. I had encountered this situation many a time in NHL 19 and did some extensive testing and what I found out is: since the introduction of the Stockholm server, the EU NHL player base is divided into 2 parts: Central Europe (those who are closer to the server in Ireland i.e. players from Germany, Switzerland France, UK, etc.) and Eastern/Northern Europe (those who are closer to the recently introduced Stockholm server i.e. players from Finland, Sweden Norway, Russia, Latvia, etc.) If you play on dedicated servers (HUT/3v3/6v6) then you will mostly get games connecting to the server that the majority of the team is closer to. From my experience, 3 Central EU players and 3 Northern EU players still got matched with Central EU opponents in 6v6. The problem for Central EU players is that there are way less teams from there in comparison to Northern EU so finding games is tough and you might spend the whole night playing the same opponent. For some reason switching the game location to relaxed isn't really a solution since you will match with North Americans more often than not.

I submitted a question in the recent producer tour Q&A if we could get the ability to choose the server we connect to, and the producer replied with something along the lines of: yeah, sure, why not, let's do that. But that likely won't fix the ping issues @Virtual_Saku and others are having.

Two (not all that likely) solutions I see for this are either to introduce a more central server somewhere in the north of Germany or Denmark, or to somehow grow the Central EU player base.

  3. NHL 19 starting 6:

LW - Vilupoika - One of the most lethal forwards in the game. Haven't faced him much this year but the few times I have come up against him, he always finds a way to score. Has exceptional creativity & skill.

    ------------------------

C - Dominointi - This guy has been elite for quite some time now and this year it looks like he's found the right team with the right chemistry and improved his game even more. Always a very tough match-up for any center in the league.

    ------------------------

RW FlyerKungen - So tight between him and Eki (as close to a tie as it gets) but I have to give this to "eKungen" for winning 3 out of the last 4 tournaments he's played in and making many many finals appearances this year. It's not easy to go from elite to the best but I think he did that this year.

    -----------------------

LD - Gzell60 - Maybe an unexpected pick, but for me he's one of the best offensive D-men out there. Near impossible to get the puck off of him and he always finds the open pass for a good scoring chance.

    ------------------------

RD - willekunq - As solid as it gets. Great all-around player with not a lot of weaknesses. Extremely reliable defenseman that doesn't make a lot of mistakes and one that every team would like to have on their roster.

    ------------------------

G - Hansulinho - Just wow. LAN beast. Don't get to play a lot of games against him cause Sky/Havu only play against 💸 opponents but perhaps that's a blessing in disguise cause every game against mr.Burns is bound to be a frustrating night for even the best of forwards.

    Honorable mention:

RW - NikkeDangles - Watch out for this kid...

Ah, yes, wise words. I'll open up my thought process a little to hopefully explain things a bit better (while still vague enough to frustrate some of you 😅)

    • When I say needs a breather and talk about future plans in this case, I'm speaking short term. What in my opinion is the right decision right now. Some criteria that I have to take into account:
      • We've been playing ECL pretty much 5 months straight. I completely agree with what you say about how the pauses should be. The pause before season 8 was much shorter than ideal due to the big steps we were able to take with partnerships and to be able to make the live final.
      • While ECL is our baby and will continue to be the most important of our franchises (along with the NACL that we just announced), we also want to consider other avenues that make the NHLGamer experience fresh and speak to an audience that we're not fully talking to yet.
      • We have to consider our staff's availability and energy levels when making decisions.
        • We have a lot of people listed as ECL staff, but in reality there are a few diamonds that take care of most of the work while a lot of the people are contributing a little or none (which is totally fine as long as the communication is solid).
        • It's hard to explain how much work there really is to make this thing work as well as it is (even with all of its flaws). And in the end I'm the only one working on this full time (currently for free) and it often comes down to me if nobody else is available. 14h+ days are no stranger to me.
          • Not to make things about me, but this then comes down to having to measure my own energy levels. It's no use to the community if I drive myself into a hole and don't have the energy to continue.
            • An example of my esports related projects since the release of NHL 19:
              • IS Cup 3: NHL 19 6vs6 eSM 2018 - Online qualifiers + Live finals in Helsinki
              • IS Cup 3: FIFA 19 1vs1 eSM 2018 - Online qualifiers + Live finals in Seinäjoki
              • IS Cup 3: NHL 19 1vs1 eSM 2018 - Online qualifiers + Local qualifiers in Helsinki + Live finals in Helsinki
              • ECL 7
              • FIFA 19 Finnish Championship -tournament for Palloliitto - Online qualifiers + Head Admin for finals in Helsinki
              • FIFA 19 Nordics Invitational -tournament for Palloliitto - Head Admin for finals in Helsinki
              • ECL 8 - Online + Live finals in Tampere 1st of March 2019
              • NACL
              • GCL 3, RCL 3 & RCL 4 (these guys do a very solid job and I don't have to help them too much outside of start of season and playoffs)
              • All of these projects and others not mentioned demand planning, meetings and and preparing before the actual seasons take place. On top of these, time is needed to plan ahead and look at the big picture and develop future plans and partnerships. Not all of our concepts make it to the public eye.
      • We need to think about what the high-end players want vs what the lower end players want vs what the audience wants vs what the partners want vs what a sponsor might want and make a decision that makes the most sense from all points of view. Sometimes one of these groups might get a bigger weight than at others, but it's important to understand that if we want to grow and succeed, we need to take all of these into account and sometimes that might feel like an odd decision if you're only considering your own position as a team or player.

    • What is the right decision today might not be the right one tomorrow, and vice versa. So just because we have done something in one way in the past doesn't mean we can't add or remove from the experience in the future.

    • One thing that some people might find annoying is the lack of information about things well ahead of time. Some thoughts on that:
      • Yes, first off, we want to communicate things as early as possible and are aware that we can do a better job. However, here's some thoughts on why we do things the way we do:
        • I don't like to promise things that I can't keep. Plans change and we need to adapt quickly. But I'd rather have that be internal than announcing something on a time-period that was previously announced as a safe time to take a vacation etc.
        • In some cases, like for example ahead of ECL 8, some of the info wasn't available and wasn't allowed to be released until it would be communicated by us and our partners.
          • Point being: I'd rather communicate something with the correct information from the start than to for example have people expect a higher prize pool and then have to go back on that. Let's say, hypothetically, that I said previously that the ECL 8 prize pool will probably be 10k and then it turned out to be 5k or 7,5k. It would still have been a great thing and an improvement to the past, but it would have been a disappointment as we set the expectations higher ourselves.

    • Just because we don't comment on something or say something, doesn't mean we're not thinking it or not doing it. 😊

I hope that explains a bit better what our/my process of thinking is. We love your feedback and ideas, so keep them coming.

  5. Real names do look more professional, but I think esports titles should leave that to real sports and try to be more casual and viewer friendly because there's a limit to how professional you can make a game look when you have players crouching down and spinning around (L1),  chopping their stick every time the puck is dumped in, diving on ice in frustration etc. Also, no offence to anybody, but for anyone who's not from northern Europe or a part of this community, something short and sweet like "Eki" is easier to learn/recognize than "Tammenpaa". (I don't know if i spelled that correctly sorry)

Just an wild idea: Lite should be NHLGamers third competitive division. Cut the number of teams to ~30 and make one lower division to teams who wants to play only for fun. Lites bottom 8 will play relegation games against ”casual division” top-8 and boom. Lites regular season has meaning again and you have more games. This is just an idea so don’t judge me :D

It's not a terrible idea, but I think that if there were 4 divisions, it would suck if you were a really good team and had to start in the ''wood'' division, but then you would have to wait until the next NHL game if you want to get to Pro division. + I'm not an expert, but, from what I've seen, the number of teams that "don't want to be promoted to pro" is really little. ECL should always be competitive and a 4th division would be kinda pointless imo. If people want to play competitive and casual at the same time, there should be a different tournament taking place parallel to ECL (like the Magic cup).

The level of skill for most teams against were roughly the same, so you had to earn every goal, win and point in the standings. But the chance to end up into that kind of division in the next ECL is probably pretty slim.

And that is all I'm after in EASHL (&ECL's): Meaningful and hard-fought tight 6-vs-6 games, not blowout losses or easy wins.

Also, this level of competitiveness and equality among teams, I think, is almost impossible to achieve for Lite, because every season you get a few teams in Lite that don't know how to skate/shoot/pass and some that could even play with the big boys up in Elite.

The amount of playoff teams is another question we have to tackle every season. There was some criticism above towards almost all (64/75) Lite teams making the playoffs last season - which is understandable. Then again, 32 would - in my opinion - be way too little, considering the amount of teams and the whole ideology behind the Lite division

Right now ECL Lite is kind of in the middle between being a lower-level, yet competitive or just a plain, casual league. I think the tournament organizers should decide which one they want it to be and fully go for that. I'm all for lowering the number of teams that make the playoffs to 32, because, as everyone has asked for, that gives the teams more meaning to their games and also one less playoff round (6 was a bit too much). And yeah, I get that there will be more teams that quit mid-way during the season, but if a team has the mentality of quitting, then that team isn't what this league needed anyway.

Proeficient veteran looking for club in Elite or high tier Pro (NHL19)

After finding NHL19 to be a game where I can use 4-6hours daily, I've decided to make one more effort to look for spot in the top. I'm ready to commit for this game and exited at fighting starting positions in high tier teams.

    Positions: LD/LW/RD/C

I've made my "name" as smart and tranquil defenceman, but I'm not bad at offense either. Good at positioning and patient to look for that good spot, not just throwing saucer to impossible slots

    Handedness: Right and Left

Learned my trait for both sides, rightey being my stronger side, but only by a margin

Pros and Cons: Patience, positioning and stickhandling

Patience is a virtue. I rather slow the game down than make bad pass forward to lose possession. I do know how to breakout quickly, and how to make fast paced passes thou. I know where to put myself in different situations. With me you won't get a skillstick god, but I can handle the puck and get around players, my way.

What I'm looking for and for what I'm ready:

I'm looking for chance to fight as a starter in Elite or high tier Pro clubs. My preference would be finnish teams as I'm also interested at coming eSM tournament.

I have proper headset for VOIP, mentality to keep training and training and fighting spirit. I don't ragequit games and I always demand the best from myself.

If you've read this far and think I might be a great additions to your club feel free PM me here, or directly in PSN, and arrange a tryout when next iteration of NHL comes out.

    Cheers

    MovaaN

With an application like this you could probably get into Harvard 😃
