    13.3
Teams are allowed to release a player from their roster, provided this doesn’t violate the roster size rule. If a player is released or transferred to another team and thus the roster size is temporarily below the limit mentioned in 2.2, the team has 24 hours to invite a new player to the team to meet the rule again, otherwise it will be disqualified. Released players cannot go back to the team that released them and their next move is considered a transfer from the team that released them.

Team captains are not allowed to be transferred during a league/tournament. Team assistant captains are allowed to transfer in case the team captain agrees to a transfer. In case the team captain disagrees, an assistant captain is not allowed to be transferred to another team. This paragraph also applies if a team is not able to finish the tournament for whatever reason.

In this situation, is it possible that KingOfApes_ could have released everybody from Radical except himself within a 24 hour period and been the only one to face punishment?

  2. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think EASHL and HUT are in opposite situations right now - EASHL is a mess when it comes to menus, lobbies, but really great when you actually play, whereas HUT offers lots to do off the ice, but the games (at least at the highest level) are already getting boring because all you do is skate around looking for a one-timer on offence and stay as close to the net as possible on defence 🙃

  3. Good answers from Rammer imo. While most of them had a similar structure and a restricted "game developer" kind of feel to them, he did really well to get across the point that while we as serious NHL players want to see things like the goalie controlling the 6th man and practice mode, most of the actual player base of the NHL series will feel indifferent about those changes -> not worth it for them to spend a lot of time and resources on that. "Brand new World of Chel" is simply a better marketing tool than "Captains and assistant captains in EASHL". Hopefully, some of the features do actually come post-launch 9_9

  4. Most of these questions will get the same old, boring, generic answers somewhat like these:

-"Why hasn't the NHL series switched to the Frostbite engine yet?"

-"You know, we always want to improve the game for our fans in any way possible, including upgrading to a newer engine. However, we want to make sure everything runs smoothly before we make such a drastic change to the series. We will certainly discuss this with the team in the future"

-"When can we import our own logos?"

-"We've heard a lot of fans saying they want an import feature in the game. While we agree with them and the feature would make for a better experience, this particular item wasn't at the top of our priorities. That being said, the team is always looking to add new and exciting things but unfortunately, it's not in this year's game."

One genuine question I would like to hear the producers answer is: In NHL 18 we had our first major tournament, being the NHL GWC, which was played in a 1v1 format. However, most people agree that a 6v6 format would make for a more entertaining and authentic viewing and playing experience. Which route would the EA Sports NHL team prefer to see the esports side of NHL go? (And which will they push/endorse with competitions, tournaments etc.)

  5. 20. Other: I don't know if this intends to stay the same, but this year the speed of getting from one match to the next is worse than last year because after each game you get kicked out of the dressing room completely (and that's even with no errors, desyncs, bugs, glitches, blue screens). Would like to see them copy from FIFA pro clubs and make it so you can search for your next match right after finishing a game. Also, a quick swap handedness button in the match room would be good for those of us that don't choose one specific position.

Since this is being passed on to EA, here's a couple more small things:

    • The animation when you pass to a guy who is close to the offside line and he skates in before the puck and gets called offside (in versus).
    • Quick, instant and responsive menus like we haven't seen since last gen (when pressing "Advance/Back" or using the d-pad to move left/right/up/down)
    • Forehand stick lift face-off sometimes doesn't work, puck stays on the dot even though you've won the faceoff.
    • Drop-ins often got confusing when both teams' jackets/jerseys had similar colours.
    • New drop-in select position system is an improvement, but there are many players that play weird positions like only RD and C. What I would suggest is just having the six position options there and you highlight which ones you prefer to play.
    • In Ones I experienced a bug a few times where the overlay that shows the players' names and one stat (X goals, Y hits, Z wins, first game, etc) would stay there for the entire match.
    • Skating backwards with the puck into the offensive zone should be an offside.sorry everybody looks like I dont know hockey rules
    • Search for clubs with friends option was broken again.
    • Player who got a penalty came out of the bench not the box after the PK was over.
    • (Personal opinion) The player who controls the goalie should come on as the 6th player instead of a bot.

Gameplay feels really good. At this point I don't really see what major thing they could add in next year that would greatly improve the game. *cough* GM connected *cough*

  6. Don't understand all the hype for the Frostbite engine, it is great for large-map shooter games like battlefield but not so much for sports titles. The visuals are greatly improved, but in NHL they are almost irrelevant, especially using the overhead camera. You never know how it might change the gameplay that is not even amazing at this point (many people blame the engine for ruining the fun and arcadey style of FIFA games of the past). If midway through the dev cycle they find out they can't make Frostbite work, we might end up getting another NHL 15. But if it makes the game better, I'm all for it.

I thought so too, but there was a special limited Subban version of the NHL 13 cover:

Assuming EA knows their own history, it should not be him then. :D

I don't think they'll count him as already being on it since the NHL 13 "limited edition" Subban cover doesn't look too official. I saw on Reddit that every Canadian team did their version of the cover for the midnight release that year. Also, looks like they were just handing these out to people who preferred Montreal over the Flyers.

If the black silhouette is actually the cover photo, it will be pretty boring in comparison to the epic action shot covers from the previous 3 years.

They also removed goalie stats from HUT game intros. Finally.

The only thing that's needed now is an auto-kick for VS players who just stop playing after being behind on the scoreboard so they still receive pucks for completion.

fifa put it in this year so they can share the highly advanced technology from there. probably someone will still just put controller on its front side so the stick just moves in one direction constantly.
