Open Qualifiers for the eFutisliiga Start in January and February!   The Veikkausliiga and the Finnish Football Association are once again hosting Finland’s official EA SPORTS FC™ eFootball tournament, the eFutisliiga. The fourth season of the tournament will take place on February 20–21, 2025, at the Winter Assembly event in Helsinki’s Messukeskus Expo and Convention Centre.   The tournament winner will earn a spot in the prestigious eChampions League, scheduled to take place later this spring.   Now, all EA SPORTS FC players aged 16 or older have the chance to compete in this celebrated tournament! In collaboration with SportsGamer, the Finnish Football Association will organize open online qualifiers across two consecutive weekends at the turn of January and February. The top two players from each qualifier will secure their place in the eFutisliiga finals. SportsGamers, Over the course of the years, we've set a high standard for NHL and other esports competitions with our leagues, tournaments, and content production around them. We have a lot of great people working behind the scenes, but in order to keep up with all the necessary tasks with greater efficiency, we are reaching out to you for help.   We are recruiting staff for several different positions and are looking for new staff members to work both with our leagues and tournaments. Most importantly, we are reaching out to our community to recruit a new Editor to take our written content production to the next level. As an Editor at SportsGamer.GG, your main responsibilities will revolve around all written content published on social media, our website, or even communicated through our partners' channels in various circumstances. You will also be expected e to generate your own content and have a vision of how to develop our content creation moving forward. There are possibilities to expand the role once you get comfortable in your position.  Editor:  Collaborate with content creators to refine and polish written and visual content for publication. Craft and develop the SportsGamer brand voice, style guidelines, and quality standards. Stay updated on industry trends in order to improve our content strategy.  Mandatory skills include an excellent understanding of the English language, and the ability to produce coherent text in English by yourself. Additional Nordic languages, especially Finnish and Swedish are very useful in the position, even if not a requirement. As you will be working with content on our social media platforms, an understanding of Instagram, Threads, X, TikTok and Facebook would be beneficial. You will also benefit from understanding SEO at least on a basic level.  Writers: Stay up to date with our leagues, tournaments and the latest industry news while creating interesting written content revolving around these. Have a knack for storytelling and finding the right ones to tell. Brainstorm ideas and content planning together with the Editor and other Writers. Mandatory skills include good proficiency in the English language and the ability to produce coherent text in English by yourself. We expect you to be able to work independently and meet deadlines set together with the Editor. As a SportsGamer writer, you'll have the freedom to pitch ideas and influence the content generated on our platform.   Please send in a portfolio of your previous work as a reference. League Administrative Announcement: Disqualification of Unwanted from ECL Elite SportsGamer has recently become aware of a publicly posted image originating from Unwanted’s team WhatsApp group. The image contained racist content. Following a thorough investigation, we confirmed that the content was authentic (i.e., not altered) and found that several players from Unwanted attempted to deceive and obstruct the League Administration (LA) during this process. Members of the team even went so far as to create fake screenshots, falsely claiming these were the original conversations that had been Photoshopped. Such behavior carries significant penalties. Decision and Implications Given these findings, and after thorough deliberation among LA members, we have decided to disqualify Unwanted from the ongoing ECL Elite season. For the purposes of relegation and standings, the season will proceed as though it was played with 16 teams, with Unwanted finishing in 16th place. Player Suspensions In addition to the team disqualification, individual players from Unwanted have received suspensions. These suspensions, effective immediately, will apply to all SportsGamer tournaments as follows: @Snus97_: Suspended until December 2nd, 2025 @Suth98_: Suspended until June 17th, 2025. Cover Gamer status has been revoked. @bystrom___ & @LaxenHD: Suspended until the April 5th, 2025 @Johansson-37: Suspended until the February 21st, 2025 The remaining roster is allowed to go, join, and play for another team this season (providing the usual transfer rules are satisfied, of course). Resetting Community Standards LA has previously received feedback that our responses to similar incidents were insufficient. Moving forward, we are resetting the standard for player conduct. Any player found engaging in racist behavior will face strict disciplinary action, including severe bans. This decision reflects our intent to provide an opportunity for players to learn and improve. We also discourage witch hunts targeting historical incidents, such as old screenshots or videos, as this detracts from fostering a positive and forward-looking community. Supporting Positive Growth To support this vision, SportsGamer will establish an initiative providing a safe and supportive space where players can seek advice from vetted peers (players). This effort aims to reduce the toxicity currently pervasive in the community. Players should be able to grow both on and off the ice without being subjected to insults or bullying from more established players. While details are still being finalized, we are committed to creating a more inclusive, welcoming environment for all participants.

We have launched a dedicated form to collect detailed information from players experiencing online connectivity issues in NHL 25. This initiative aims to gather comprehensive data to assist EA SPORTS in identifying and resolving these problems.   Purpose of the Form: Players have reported difficulties accessing online modes, such as receiving error messages like “failed to retrieve data” or being unable to join dressing rooms in World of Chel (WOC). The form seeks to collect specific details about these issues, including: Platform: PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S/X. PSN ID/Gamertag: The account experiencing the issue. Location: Europe or North America. Nature of the Issue: Inability to enter online modes or join dressing rooms, among others. Error Codes: Any specific error messages encountered. Affected Game Modes: HUT, Online Versus, World of Chel (EASHL). Frequency: How often the issue occurs. EASHL Club Details: Club name and player visibility in Club Options. Cross-Platform Play: Presence of both PlayStation and Xbox players on the team.   How to Participate: Players experiencing these issues are encouraged to complete the form with accurate and detailed information. This data will be instrumental in assisting EA SPORTS to diagnose and address the connectivity problems affecting the community. We understand this is a frustrating issue, but this temporary fix allows affected players to continue participating in games while awaiting an official resolution from EA SPORTS. Note: using a second account is not a requirement and we offer it only as a temporary solution for those who want to keep playing while we wait for the issue to be resolved.

A serious situation has arisen concerning the ECL '25: Winter - Elite team "Unwanted" and their members. As such, to allow LA adequate time to come to a decision and not potentially waste the team's opponent's time LA has come to the agreement to suspend Unwanted (the team and its players) until further notice.
