Update: Due to the fact that one ECL Lite group was having an empty slot, we decided to accept a late registation by J P T J. Furthermore we decided to merge two ECL Lite groups into one (per lottery), so we end up with the same conferences as ECL Pro. All changes are reflected below. Hey NHL Gamers, First of all, some of you have been asking for an ECL 4 kick-off date already, and we can confirm we will be starting on Monday, the 20th of February. Secondly, all of us here in the NHLGamer Staff are overwhelmed by the amount of registrations for the new division format: 79 teams in total! Back when we were discussing the framework for divisions, the following quote was dropped in the Staff chat: "Expecting 80 or more teams is likely ridiculous". Turns out we were quite wrong about it. The community has never been more alive, and we are incredibly happy about this. Having said that, the Staff had to make a couple of decisions. Unfortunately, Fat Cats, which were nominated for the Elite division, decided to withdraw from ECL 4. According to the announced tie-breakers (most playoff wins -> best regular season PPG average), Rynnäkköviikset will join ECL Elite and fill up spot #16. This is the final ECL Elite lineup: Unknown (previously Northern Ascendancy) Dynasty Synergy (previously Synergy Hockey) Written in the Stars Northern Stars Laser HT SIKA Limitless (previously X Factor) MUKIMIEHET TIKI TALK Aapon Taikasauva Nordic Lightning Refuse To Lose Nordic Nightmare Finnish Roosters Rynnäkköviikset For ECL Pro, we received a total of 44 registrations for 32 spots, which means we needed to move 12 teams to ECL Lite. Some choices were more obvious than others, but in the end, we believe we made the right decisions. As announced earlier, we have taken ECL and EASHL records, as well as team/player reputation and consistency into account, and ran a lottery with 10 pre-seeded teams (Nordic Stars, Carlsberg HC, Germany's Finest, HC Checkmate, Kattiautomaatti, murohoki, Rusty Blades, Silver Sword Griffins, Sjukstugan, White Trash) - followed up by another lottery with the 22 remaining teams. Here are both ECL Pro conferences for ECL 4: ECL Pro A Sjukstugan White Trash Carlsberg HC Rusty Blades murohoki Nocturnal Hunters The Beagle Boys Ace Holes HC HC Magic Zone The Lights Out (previously Lunatic Lions) Shameful Knights Bare Knuckles Hockey Origins Free From Rodents Unlucky Boys HC Baltic Sea Eagles ECL Pro B Silver Sword Griffins Germany's Finest (previously UKnighted HC) Nordic Stars Kattiautomaatti HC Checkmate Company of Geeks Bellizzi Pata Hellalla Inter Iceland Showtime Royal Club Nemesis (previously Voodoo People) Huppati HC Thunder Tigers Alliance HT AK 47 All remaining 32 teams will join ECL Lite and compete in two conferences with 16 teams each. These are the ECL Lite conferences: ECL Lite A Ice Phoenix Pohjoista Voimaa HC Scorpions Vemppaosasto Lavetten Banterfield Battallion HC Palosaari Clowns On Ice Anonymous HC Elämäm Kiekko Die TwitchProleten Dynamo Danglers GHETTO FIREBIRDS Papat Bone Breakers A Dream Valhalla ECL Lite B Wolfsrudel EV Duisburg Prometheus HC Ancient Warriors Pungbrock HC Falun Coal Miners Teletapit DEAD END KINGS EN HUND PSHL Roadrunners The Youngsters Last Kings Hawks Hockey Club iNF4M0US Blues HC J P T J What do you think about the conferences? Let us know in the comments below! NHLGamer.com26 points

79 teams. Wow good job! I do however believe Lite division will be kind of unbalanced. Both Bone Breakers and possibly Dead End Kings could be in the top of pro division. I was never a fan of such broad Lite-division, since I do believe there might be some problems in the future with teams losing interest. Time will tell. And a message to pro teams. Company of Geeks will crush every single one of you.6 points

Bone Breakers was top tier team in Consolehockey tournaments and their captains rotta__roteva and Lupachuk were top players in whole league not forgetting rissanen who was one of the best defensive d-men. My opinion is that BoB should be in Pro Division.4 points

Nice, I guess this puts some pressure on us yeey the team actually have 5 former members from SYN since Headandtail97 also have done several EHL/ECL as Byhkov and 3 members from the Northern Ascendancy squad. We just have to like the situation I guess. I bet there will be some good competition anyway and not like an walk in the park good luck to every team this season / DEK2 points

Hello NHLGamers, Well, that was quite an intense experience wasn't it? Several months of competitive virtual hockey in the bag with more than a few highlight reel goals, slick saucer passes and bone crushing hits along the way. If you are anything like me, the time between ECLs is spent recovering from the emotional rollercoaster of the previous tournament while at the same time anticipating the next one. Judging by the activity in the NHLGamer forums, the amount of new members and teams registered plus the crazy Free Agent season we've seen so far - ECL 4 looks to surpass all previous tournaments in terms of participation and activity. Almost 80 teams registered, that is insane! Thank you all for making this community what it is and making sure we stay on course in building the ultimate gathering place for competitive NHL gamers. Keep up the great activity and know that the next step on the NHLGamer journey, ECL Divisions, is right around the corner. Here is all the information that is available right now concerning ECL 4 and the format it will feature: ECL Divisions FAQ. With 45 teams registered for the Pro division and 15 for Elite, the NHLGamer staff does have some work to do in balancing the divisions and making sure the numbers stay even in terms of division size. Look for an update this week with the finalized division placements, the tournament start date plus the schedule for the season. With that said, before we get started with ECL 4 it is time to properly close the book on our previous tournament. What better way to do that than to celebrate the greatest individual achievements of ECL 3? As you've most likely guessed based on the news story title, it is time for the ECL 3 Regular Season Awards (featuring the Playoff MVP)! In total, there will be 9 individual trophys handed out (6 for skaters, 3 for goalies) for the regular season and 1 for the playoffs. Most of these you might have seen before in this story where we presented the trophys for ECL 1, 2 and Summer Cup. However, you will notice two new additions for this particular tournament. Enjoy! (If someone isn't tagged, it is because I did not know their forum name.) ECL 3 - Regular season: Most Points - @Joukki with 86 goals and 87 assists for 173 points in 42 games. This is joukkis second award for Most Points as he previously snagged the award in ECL 1. Most Goals - Joukki again with his 86 goals; featuring 13 PPG, 1 SHG and 16 GWGs. joukki won this award for ECL 1 as well, so this is his second goal scoring title and fourth individual trophy in total. Most Assists - Puantso, who breaches the 100-plateau with 106 assists in 39 games played. This is the second trophy for most assists by Puantso as he won the title for ECL 1. NEW Most hits - Tanski87 of Rusty Blades delivered a crushing 327 hits in 46 games played. He wins this new award by a margin of more than 70 hits. Most Points by a Defenseman - @Rullstolskalas with a total of 14+63 = 77 in 46 games played. The first defenseman scoring title for longtime Northern Stars defender "Rulle". Best Plus/Minus - This category was completely dominated by Aapon Taikasauva who had the Top 5 spots. Winning the award is @indi969 with +179 in 44 games. Best Save % - Just like before, the requirement to win this title is that the goaltender in question plays at the very least 50% of his teams games. Playing in 24 out of 46 games for Northern Stars, MZK-TrophyHunter qualifies and delivered a commanding 83.71 % in those games. Most Wins by a Goalie - By many considered to be one of the top EASHL goalies in the world, @FinKonna finally manages to snag an goaltending award with his spectacular 37-8-1 record for ECL 3. NEW Most shutouts - @SneakPeaker of X Factor and @SpiderRoyal of SIKA shares this new goaltending award with 9 shutouts each. ECL 3 - Playoffs: As is custom, we only award one individual trophy during the playoffs - the Playoff MVP. This one goes to championship winners X Factors #1 center, @Penatski. With 46 points in 24 playoff games (featuring an impressive 8 points in 4 games during the finals) he finished among the top point scorers for the playoffs and was judged to be the primary X Factor in his teams success. Yes, I know. Sorry. Jokes aside, congratulations to you Penatski - well deserved! To finish this one off, we once again hand the mic over to X Factor captain, @nylanderi, for some choice words about his top playoff producer; "What a player. Great two-way forward, with TOP hockey iq. In the regular season X Factor scored 199 goals... and Penatski had a point in 165 of them. He always found a way to create scoring chances without ever hurting our defense. Although he is really young, he plays a truly mature game. He came through for us in the playoffs with so many crucial OT goals. Penatski deserves this trophy without a doubt" That is all for now. Look for the ECL 4 update this week! Later skaters! And you are doing what? They specifically asked us to comment...and we should...not comment? What is your point? I was not critizing, I made a remark that Club name seem more important than roster. If I should critizise it will go something like this: Letting Unknown take over Northern Ascendancy means any team can go to the elite if they draft the captain of a Elite team. In Unknowns case I still feel its motivated since NA and Unknown are very similar teams with both Anrh and Foppatofflan playing for NA. Howere it does create a precedential case in forthcoming situations that might not fit the glove as well as NA/WHO. Letting NL keep their spot with 1 previous member and a former sacked assistant captain mean I could just add an irl friend who never played the game. Put him as captain and protect the club name. Again...this is not crying but valid input to make the tournaments even better in the future. Im sure such input is more appreciated among admins then "stop crying" remarks! hugs and kisses xoxo1 point

You guys should change name to "Drunken Rebels" now and give back the name to Isindar and Pzu who formed the club 'Synergy' back in the days together with Haligax, Zettan, Kimmo and Supremski. (This was a joke, heh) Dead End Kings - Should be a pro team with so many "Elite-players" from the last tournament. Anyways, good luck everyone!1 point

Yes, some clubs in PRO and Lite should in my opinion as well change places. Elite is quite well structured but other 2 divisions are a small question mark to me.1 point

It surely was little bit weird to play - and felt way too arcade. Ugh, I had high hopes for this game but it's made by Ubisoft - and not only that but their french studio so we'll see how it turns out. Shooting and driving didn't look/feel like it's 2017. But still, gonna give a chance for this because it's Ghost Recon.1 point

I guess the club name is important. 4 ex synergy players form Dead end Kings and get placed in lite. Nordic Lightning has 2 players from their previous team (where 1 of them got kicked) still get to keep their Elite spot. Anyway good luck to everybody1 point
