  1. I'm perhaps one of the few people that wanted ECL 3 to be played like this one more time, so you're thoughts on me are far away from being true. I've enjoyed this but we dont have to do it three times per year. We've seen it already.

"Kill the competetiveness" by adding more meaningful games? This is something I just dont get. We have two very different opinions on this, that is all.

    Like I said, we'll see. B|

  2. So lets have two big divisions, just because of midtable teams wouldn't create their own league and have bigger chance to win real (easier) championship? Nah, sounds boring.

This is the way to make NHL-gaming (EASHL) go next level. To make this matter, to make this more competetive and real what it has never been before. Why should we basically do the same stuff over and over again - and get nowhere with it. I guess we know what happened to Consoleblogspothockey?

No more conference bs - you know, as we split the one big league to half and have zero chance to play ECL against other elite or good midtable teams. Making Divisions work is not easy. It's not only making two/three different groups of teams and let them play between eachother.

What you guys scare in playing more big games? Isn't it the point of eSports? To play as competetive as we can.

I'm not gonna carry on with this conversation as I have already told what I want and wish from NHLGamer now and in the future. Just my opinions, and hopefully Gamer's as well.

    We'll see it tonight.

About the divisions. Two divisions, not three. More divisions than two will kill this community and destroy the possibility of new teams forming. Not the way to go!

30 in Div1 (ECL) might not be quite competetive enough as there would still be too big skill diffeferences between top and "ok" teams. And if there was 16 in Div1, and all the rest in Div2, it would be the same but in Div2 that time and I think with three divisions, the game will be more fun for everybody.

I like the idea that teams should play against their own level teams - for an example: "Elite team" playing against "possible quitter team" or just literally "amateur team" is not fun or competetive to any team. And lets be honest here - we can divide our community's skill easily to three divisions by just looking at our teams right now. We have top teams, midtable teams and teams that take it in the ass even from midtable teams. Just being realistic and saying it like this so everyone here understands what's the point of Divisions.

Personally I think that NHLGamer will take huge steps for NHL-scene with their new, fixed Division-system.

Ask anyone who seriously respects the competetiviness big time, and meanwhile also looks to the future - not just next season.

  4. First episode's name is Pilot. Just like I wrote earlier, our guests will be Plee and Janbo. Btw, Janbo said that he can translate the episode and make some kind of summary from the most important subjects etc.

Episodes will be shared in different part of subjects. Pilot, for example, will be built like this:

    - Cast; talking little bit of ourselves and our teams
    - What is Truth of Hockey?
    - NHLGamer generally
    - ECL 3
    - Divisions and discussion around it
    - Questions & Answer

...and maybe something else as well. Pilot will be our first and probably the longest episode ever, so there will be lots of discussion. I want to add that even though we talk on divisions etc. in the Pilot, we will talk about these things later with other guests as well, as we want to hear what people think on these subjects.

    Questions?

If you want your questions to be answered in the Pilot, send them to me privately in NHLGamer. If you're not finnish, we will discuss the question in finnish and have shorter answers in english here, on this topic. We will list every question before the show starts, but you can ask them as well in the stream chat while we're doing the show. Spider will be participating with the chat during the show.

  5. Truth of Hockey is our brand new talkshow program. This topic will work as its information- and discussion topic. Language we speak is going to be finnish, but if we decide to have european guest(s), we will have english episodes as well.

ToH will be hosted by me, and other regular faces in it will be @Anbtbl and @SpiderRoyal. We will have two guests per episode, and Pilot episode's guests are going to be @plee999 and @janbonator

Program will be streamed on SIKA's Twitch channel, and we will upload every episode to our Youtube channel as well. Length of one episode will be from 45 minutes to two hours. First season is supposes to be five episodes long, but we dont have any certain schedule atleast for now, in publishing the episodes.

Point of doing this is basically to create something new to our community and wake up some discussion. Things will be said straight, but we will try to keep it clean but I cant promise anything. If someone has - lets say questionable or rough - opinion on some object we're discussing, he can say it. I repeat, things will be said straight. Finally, we want to make clear that this is SIKA's show but we still act as individuals.

Any questions, feedback and ideas are very welcome.

     Season 1:

    #1. Pilot (finnish)
    #2. ECL3 Playoffs: Round 1 (finnish)
    #3. ECL3 Playoffs: Round 2 (finnish)
    #4. English please (english)
    #5. Recap & Future - 5/2/2017 (english)

    Season 2 starts on late-February.

  6. Here are my personal thoughts and wishes on the future of NHLGamer and ECL. It's more like bunch of notes than wall of text, but anyways here it is.

    ECL Wishlist

    1. Get comments back to game reports. I know it's not that big deal but I'd say that our community would like to have it back.

    2. Using whole time period of NHL-game, like the other competetive sites do with their leagues and games. Yeah, it might sound too much now but after all it would be best for the community to play this game a lot, and hey, after all there would be only two leagues per year, with two shorter Cups.

--> 2x Elite ECL leagues per year (+ divisions)
--> 1x Euro Cup, big tournament with every team who wants to play > as much as possible groups, about 6 teams per group which would keep the Cup short. Just like Football and Hockey has their short tournaments before/during/after their real seasons.
--> 1x Summer Cup in July-August, snake draft teams etc.

    3. Bigger Staff. To make this whole thing really work, NHLGamer needs to have strong and active Staff. I'm not saying there should be over 20 guys deciding what to do or anything but more people, with different tasks and responsibilities would definitely be better than handful of guys. And after this, create new topic or site where is every Staff member, their introductions, what their main tasks are and how to contact them. Community needs to know about our Staff.

    --> site-admins: big bosses, all-arounders
--> moderators: league maintenance, news, articles, interviews
--> country captains: this is something new I've had in my mind for some weeks now and the meaning of this would be basically to have certain guys representing their countries team captains. For an example, one finnish, one swedish, one russian and one "european" person, and their only task would be to keep things clear between our captains and Staff. If this sounds stupid, then get bigger group of moderators who have their own responsibilites (certain guys taking care of certain groups/countries).
-->team captains: I guess everybody knows what this means. But I just wanna say if someone really wants to be captain of their team, and gets his team to the ECL for example: respect the rules, staff and your opponents.

    4. Profile-info in the forum, which people would see when we write here. Just a little subtile add to forum, not much. Example:

    5. Bring us wild cards! For an example, if there's 30 teams in ECL, 15 per group, lets have wild card spots. Six best teams go straight to the playoffs, 7th-10th teams battle for remaining two playoff-spots. Teams that dont make playoffs (11-15th placed teams in both groups), would battle in elimination round for their next seasons ECL ticket. Five losers from these five pairs get eliminated.

Hope here's something what you guys could even consider to do in the future of NHLGamer.

I live in Switzerland ! During the day I haven't any problems and in the evening impossible to play under 70 ping...

This is just a theory based stuff, but @Snapster (King of Dynasty) told me that he has the NA version of this game, and when he is the captain in dressing room, they find only NA teams. Didnt say anything about lagging tho.

@Givystar, do you have euro version of the game?

The summercup first overall draftpick is back already? Sooo this retirement thing was just a gimmick to get more sales to Seppälä and Dressman??

More like imosi being drama queen ;). We're still having the ceremony on this weekend though.

Here's one pic we all could learn from. We call it team defense.

@SpiderRoyal managed to save this somehow.

No no no... Stars go to Dressman and seppälä, superstars and legends go to Halpa-halli and tokmanni! I'm not quite there yet so i have to use Zalando

Exactly. We're talking about imosi, not an superstar. More like Jere Lehtinen, or Antti Miettinen some might say.

  10. Imosi's retirement weekend on 4th-5th of November. Greatest forward in Xbox's history will have his #93 retired on first weekend of next month. You dont want to miss that.

Whole event is going to be streamed. Hockey, wine and cheese. Come witness imosi's last EASHL-games.

  12. Aftermath starts here! I think SC was great add to summer for people who likes to play NHL during summer.

It would be nice if we could get some opinions here that what was good in the whole Summer Cup and then again what Staff could do better next summer.

About the Draft-system: it was good. Main reason to have this tournament was to get players from other teams together, and IMO we nailed it.

Only thing I would want to fix in next SC, is the amount of games. I mean, people played NHL16 ALOT during summer and people mostly enjoyed playing SC so why not to play against every team in the tournament, and not just half. Maybe the main reason for having split league was the time, I dont know, but next time if theres like 10-15 teams, lets play bigger regular season.

Nothing else from me. I think SC was succees, and it should be played next year as well. Thanks to everyone who made the whole SC happen.

  15. EAT. SLEEP. PLAY. REPEAT.

Playing thousands of games, in a nutshell. EASHL, Versus, HUT and Be a GM. There's literally no elite player who plays once a week, especially nowadays as there's +50-60 teams trying to win the ultimate prize of hockey, ECL championship. For me example, I've really had my hardest games ever on NHL16 thanks to Finnish Defence Forces. Fucking shit took 9 months away from my hockey career and I've been really rusty. I've never been this shit and it pisses me off every time when I play against players like @Joonas Paatiala(Patz), @debi_85, @Joukki or @Dominointi. Oh my God, even @Basstian23 is sneaky for me these days... Before back then, on NHL14, only forward I had problems to D against (even tho it was fun as hell) was @Foppatofflan, who's btw still greatest forward Europe has seen by far. But there's one cure which helps for this issue: playing daily.

Before, lets say like on NHL14, I played +2500 EASHL/drop-in games combined, 50-100 versus games + HUT so yeah, more than 100 versus-games and that's nothing compared to guys like @plee999 or @Dominointi(seppo). And those guys dominate the leaderboards. So after EASHL and Vs., there's like lets say 2750 games played. Then there's Be a GM what I like to play, a lot. I'm not lying when I say that during NHL14, I played more than 10 different careers, atleast 2-3 seasons per career. Of course I simulated lots of games but also I played much. Even though it was just offline, you always learn when you play. So lets put it this way; who'll know more about the game, player A who plays only EASHL or player B, who plays hundreds or in some situations even thousands of games more than player A. And now on NHL16 I've played under 1000 6vs6-games, no more than 100 offline-games and couple 1vs1-games and you can clearly see it on the ice.

That's it. Of course there's this thing called "hockey IQ" which you cant study. Either you have it, or you dont. That's why there's mainly the same teams or guys dominating the EASHL-leaderboards or 1vs1-boards.

Hope so this helps to realize the importance of playing the game, a lot.

  16. SIKA is looking for elite RD.

We need experienced, defensive-minded but still producive player to our blueline. By that, we mean that you have played tight EHL/ECL games before and basicly know how to play the game even when heat is on, defensively and offensively. 1st lineup spot guaranteed if you got what it takes to be #1 RD in team which is aiming to win ECL on NHL17.

And as a team, we offer good team spirit and environment where you dont have to be afraid of people speaking bullshit behind your back etc. If there's something to say, we say it. Me and @imosi are responsible for that and everything else as we are SIKA's captains. Oh and we play daily 20-23fin so you have to be active as well.

If you have any questions on our team, contact me on PSN.
