  1. "Before that me, Poliskontroll, Juizki and Tacklecontrol played mostly 4s in NHL 12 under a different team name" Little did we know, this group would end up playing on the level it currently plays on. 😎 Also, I think we all know foppa is like wine; he just gets better with time.

Sign up for ECL 7 now!

There's a huge problem here: we would either have to make elite a must-pay-division, or scrap the whole idea of buy-ins. Otherwise it really wouldn't make any sense that just one team would be enough to ruin this possibility for everyone. But I'm (kinda) with you on why #3 and #4 should get a part of the money: I mean after all, all you get is your money back. But that's not an issue in my opinion, whatever the community wants to do with this. Anyhow, great addition!
  3. I steal this and I'll use it to describe architecture... some day when I'm famous and stuff. JÄLKIHIKI! -JParola
  4. NHL Ones: Nice arcade hockey. Great addition! NHL THREES Drop-In (Arcade Threes): Great way to bring this game mode more alive. It was quite forgotten game mode for me last year. Even though it was nice variety for so serious 6v6s, playing alone against one opponent and two AIs wasn't very tempting in the long-run. Now I might even play this around the year. EASHL Club 6s: It's pretty much just the way it should be. Deflections could be tuned down a bit, but other than that it seems to be the best 6v6 so far. Customization: Player Classes + Traits/Specializations: This is really balanced and a nice addition. I was pretty sceptic about the feature when I heard about it, as I was worried it would result into unbalanced and overpowered builds just like last-gen NHL games had, but this works really well. Customization: Gear (Casual + Pro gear + Gear Bags): Not something I would extremely pay attention to, but it's fun to have more equipment and more personalized characters in the game. Some of the equipment is pretty goofy, but that's fine. If there's something I'd hope EA would add, it would be editable goalie masks: possibility to edit the color of the helmet and the grill, edit the surface type/material (matte - glossy), and maybe add some logos etc. on the helmet (why not text as well, assuming it goes through profanity filter). I'm still waiting for a chance to wear matte black helmet Human Goalies in EASHL: Feels great! Finally the goalie feel responsive and doesn't get stuck into animations as much as it used to.
  5. Kiinnittäny huomiota ihan samaan asiaan. En tiedä onko joukkueet muuttanu pelityyliä, vai muutettiinko pelissä jotain. Kiekko pyörii slotissa todella paljon; laukaukset kimpoilee ympäriinsä, ohjautuu jaloista, syötöt pomppii miljoonan lavan kautta jne.

  7. Still available. I'll be around a lot during the beta, looking forward to play as many games as possible.
  8. Awesome stuff! 😂
  9. Now with the Summer Cup being finished on my part, I should be around quite a lot for potential try-outs. I'm a goalie looking for an elite club (or high contender in pro) + a team for eSM as well. Willing to play as a starter, a backup or share games about 50-50 with another goalie (with the better one playing the potential playoff games). Been around for quite a while now, and I've had a privilege to be part of great teams such as Finnish Roosters, Checkmate, Northern Ascendancy and Evolution. I can speak fluent Finnish and English. Will most likely be very active on NHL 19! My biggest motivator to play this game series? Winning! Obviously You can contact me on NHLGamer or on PSN (PSN ID: Juizki).
  10. Had amazing time with amazing people. Thanks to staff and the community for making this event what it was!
  11. Ehdottomasti! Pitäiskö tähän laittaa poll (englanniksi?), jossa ois muutama eri ajankohta vaihtoehdoiksi ja kohteet "Helsinki - Tallinna, Helsinki - Tukholma, kumpi vain"?
  12. Just to make sure: you do use LAN cable right, not wifi?
  13. Free G Looking for team that plays in elite or team that's competitive (contender in) pro for ECL 6.
  14. From goalie's perspective: I was really hoping (like I've done for years now) that EA would take this game in the direction where goalies get rewarded really well for being in position (and maybe even knowing when to go into butterfly and when to standup),but in meantime goalies would get punished unforgivenly for being out of position. Instead, we see goalies making huge saves while being out of position, maybe even on the wrong side of the net. In addition, goalies who are squared off to the shooter and actually take away the shot angles are getting beat by snipes, deflections, sloppy ass shots and all that great stuff. I think it's just those few things EA should do and it'd change the goalies' game dramatically and we could see real difference on the skill level of the goalies. Instead of having goalies that are bad and who are good, we could actually classify goalies horrible, bad, decent, good, incredible. But as of right now, it's really hard to standout as a goalie in this game and have some recognition unless you play for a top notch team. Plus the goalies' game book is still the same: find that one thing that works and abuse it. Whether it is about sitting in a butterly 24/7 or standing up the whole game, for the past 3-5 NHL games it's been all about finding that one stupid trick to be a top level goalie instead of actually learning how to use your goalie's skill set. And yes goalies do have a skill set, it might be quite limited but it really exists, it's just not needed in the game as it's either about standup only or butterfly only.
  15. Goalie looking for a competitive ECL team for NHL 18. I've played in multiple ECL (and EHL) tournaments as a goalie, in teams such as Finnish Roosters and (for the past few seasons) Checkmate. As for communication: I can speak Finnish and English. You can contact me either on NHLGamer or PSN. PSN ID: Juizki
  16. Just to clear things up a bit: When we noticed Kefleri was playing for SSG, we contacted SSG saying they're (most likely) not allowed to play with Kefleri on their lineup. We also tried to contact The_Alpha_Furyan to get a confirmation the captain rule still applies. We did not get a reply from The_Alpha_Furyan before our games were supposed begin, but we got a message from SSG saying that the rule has changed and it's ok for them to play these games. Since we had no confirmation we had to play against SSG, simply due to a fact that if we happened to be wrong SSG would've (most likely) requested a WO wins over us. SSG: you guys know the rules. I think it's quite hypocritical to blame us for this situation after you tried to misslead us saying rules have changed, you are the ones who broke the rules AND you completely neglected our warning that your roster might not be eligible to play.
  17. HC Checkmate is looking for active D and G. The team will play in ECL Pro for the upcoming season 4 of the ECL. With the new ECL divisions we knew lots of players and teams would have to decide between staying with their current team or finding a new one. After the season 3 ended on our part, we decided to build a team for the future with long(er)-term process. Our goal is to build our team through few additions into our lineup and improving our game to the level that we will advance to ECL Elite and have a solid chance of success in the Elite-division. Language: Finnish, English If interested, you can contact: @Juizki (PSN: Juizki), @TackleControl (PSN: TackleControl), @Gandalf (PSN: IYoushallnotpass)
  18. I thought you guys might have been planning something similar, but you I thought I should bring this up since we have not had that site up yet. And yeah, I think it would be cool if there was the kind of system you described. I gave a very rough idea since it'd be something that would require very little time to create and update, since I know you guys are quite busy with the site anyways. Some code or algorithm which would gather information automatically would be always up to date, but requires time to create (or that's what I'd imagine, I've only created simple websites not codes). Anyway, it'd just be great to have a place where all the ECL winners' names would be represented without people having to navigate through team or player profiles.
  19. This is an idea I had back in the day when EHL was still around. I've thought about requesting it to NHL Gamer but have always kinda "forgotten" it. Anyway, the idea is having ECL championships (and individual awards if wanted) listed on NHL Gamer under a web page of their own. This would make it easier for everybody to see which team has won which championship without having to memorize it (which might turn out to be quite tricky after multiple ECL seasons have been played) or go through the news feed. This wouldn't just be a nice little "tool" for the community, but would also give more prestige to the championship itself, as the champions would get a showcase of their own. This would also guarantee championship victory will never be forgotten - at least as long as the ECL is running. The showcase of championships would be fairly easy to be put together. The site itself could just list ECL champions season by season from newest to oldest (or vice versa). For Example: ECL 3 (NHL 17, PS4) - ECL 3 Champion ECL 2 (NHL 16, PS4) - Mukimiehet ECL 1 (NHL 16, PS4) - Nordic Blizzard So the list would show the (number of) ECL season, the game and console that season was played on, and the name of the winning team. The console/platform won't be mandatory as long as there is no ECL being played on Xbox One (or later on on PS5 etc). Also, every column (for example "ECL 1 (NHL16, PS4) - Nordic Blizzard") should have a link which leads you to a page which is showcasing the names of all the players who were part of that winning team. Names of the players could be shown in a format of "PSN ID - NHL Gamer name", or only with NHL Gamer name. Every player name would also include a link to the player's personal NHL Gamer profile. There could also be extra information on these sites if wanted, but I thought I'd just give you a rough example. With the new divisional system coming, it would be up to NHL Gamer Staff to decide whether they would like to list Pro and Amateur champions as well, but of course it would be a nice touch, I'd say. I feel this would be a great tool for the NHL Gamer community to follow which teams have won the ECL title before, and who are the players who've been part of that team during that time. It would be a great way to showcase NHL Gamer's greatest prize. It would be great to be able to check who've won the ECL Championship, instead of just relying on what you remember or what people tell you. What do you guys think? Would it be a cool new feature or a totally lame idea?
  20. PSN Name: Juizki Tell us about you: 23 years old Finn who's played (pretty much nothing else but) goalie since NHL 14 (on which I played for Northern Spirit and Finnish Roosters in EHL). I played for Checkmate in the first season of the ECL on NHL 16, didn't participate in season two. Can speak both Finnish and English.
  21. Name: Checkmate (http://nhlgamer.com/community/topic/89-checkmate/) Wants: Defenseman Other Info: We're a Finnish team looking for a defenseman, preferably Finnish but other options aren't ruled out either, who would want to play for our team in ECL tournament. You can contact me via personal message on NHLGamer or on PSN (PSN ID: Juizki).
  22. I'm really torn between one day and two days per week schedules. I know there are lots of people out there who want to play way more, but at the same time there are lots of people, like me, who don't have that much spare time in their hands right now. Of course I can find at least two spare days during a week but, as we know, scheduling games (especially with some teams) isn't always as easy at it sounds like. If I'm allowed, I'd like to recommend the kind of system (assuming there will be lots of teams) where there will be at least two divisions (or more, depending on how many teams participate) where the teams play only against the teams in their division, just to avoid the regular season going on for too long. Not sure how other people feel about this but I, personally, prefer shorter regular season. It would also be more likely to have more (or maybe all) teams to play and complete the whole regular season as the teams won't have to be in a situation where they realize they have bunch of games yet to be played but no chance at even qualifying for the playoffs. And about selecting teams for the tournament: if there are way too many teams, then yes of course, there have to be teams that get cut, but rather pick all the teams (if possible) and make more divisions/groups etc. I'm just saying this because there are plenty of new teams due to players switching from Xbox to PlayStation and vice versa.
