Since both teams, SIKA and Murohoki is claiming to be oldest active team, I would want to see some clarification on the subject -
I wish that more teams would go in the direction that SIKA is going. They have top notch stream, very good podcasts (maybe in english later). Maybe more content to facebook site?

Hey, Kattiautomaatti is looking for a LD/RD. Right now we have 2 defensemen in our roster and we need 3 defensemen in our roster as soon as possible. We are planning to share D playing time in EASHL and ECL evenly between 3 defencemen. Player handness does not matter, playing performance is first priority. But being able to play both LD and RD is a big plus. Nationality does not matter. All players in the team are from Finland, we speak finnish and english. We can offer a team with long history, most of our team's players have played together since NHL09/10. We think we did not play at our own level last season and we are now making changes in our team to get us back in elite playoffs. I'm not saying that unknown shouldnt be let in. Ofc they should but these things cant be decided by few people behind closed walls. There has to be rules. Is it enough that you have 1 player that has won the cup? 2 players from runner up? 4 players from semi-finalists? And in what time span? I have won 1 EHL championship in 2012(?) and if we would re-form exact same team would you let us in? I wouldnt since the game has gone a long way since then.

Exceptional team status. Exceptional. Wondering how this will work. Now after this tournament you have 16 teams for elite division and 16 for pro division yet you have unknown coming in with exceptional team status. You have set elite and pro division to have 16 teams each, teams has fought hard for these spots for over 40 games. Are you going to drop one of these teams for unknown? I reckon similar things are bound to happen alot. Whole exceptional team status is kind of controversy. Where you are going to draw a line? Who gets accepted and who doesnt?

Well it took only about 10 posts that somebody could give me a valid reason why the auto relegation is a good thing. Thanks for that and maybe 1 spot would do the trick? I haven't thought it that way

I exited this conversation already but i have to ask, what makes you think that #17 and #18 belongs with big dogs more? Because thats what they are. Pro division 1 and 2 really are just #17 and #18 unless proven otherwise = relegation series. But now, please dont quote me on subject. It's harder than i thought to stop arguing this and to be honest its not even that big of a deal if theres straight promotions or not. And i agree with you, 3 divisions is too many at this current state of the community. Maybe in future.

I'm not going to argue on this subject anymore since i feel that we are not going anywhere in this conversation. I'm sure everybody got my point and i understand your point so i guess we just have to agree to disagree. Once more, its stupid

Unfair? Is it fair to #15 and #16 teams that they go straight to lower division without the chance to prove that they are infact better and more suitable to elite division than pro division #1 and #2? If you cant win the damn series your team doesnt belong with the big dogs.

I still cant see how it would be different if teams get promoted straight or through series? I get your point and i agree with you but this has nothing to do with my posts whatsoever.

Some of "top players" seem to create team after every tournament, either way.

This is something i can agree with you. And by the way if we would put those 12 "elite" teams in regular season, there would still be few punching bags who would most likely finish the tournament only with few wins.

For example i wouldnt. I play in a team with full of players i want to play with. If we get promoted to elite division i wouldnt change a thing and to be honest, who would? Isnt that sign of good players and team play if you manage to reach the elite division? But maybe that is difference between me and you, you like to sell your friends for "succes". And is it any different if they get promoted straight or through series?

This is not real life where teams has player budget and shit. This doesnt apply in this community.

So instead you want that next season, 2 of elite category teams destroy pro division and 2 pro division teams are punchbags in elite division? I for example dont believe that would be the case since #15-#18 teams skill gap isnt that wide but you seem to think so?

It's far from closed division since every team still will have a chance to get promoted to elite division. If they are not good enough to beat #15 and #16 in relegation series then they are not good enough to play in elite division. It's really simple and im actually amazed that somebody will talk about "competitive" divisions and still leaves a chance that actually elite division does not have the top 16 teams in there.

Why there is 2 guaranteed promotion and relegation spots? IMO there should always be promotion/relegation series. If theres guarenteed promotions then there is huge chance that there is NOT 16 best teams in elite division. Just plain stupid.

How do you seed teams? By group standings or by points? Example: do you seed teams like best group winner is seed 1, second best group winner seed 2 etc. Or most points seed 1, second most points seed 2 etc. Which one it is? -

Has there been announcement about staff members? If so, i have missed it and i dont even know rest of the staff. Either way, that doesnt change the situation and in the end of the day, kenu and lurkins are the ones in the charge. -

As much as i like kenu and lurkins, i have to admit that they have not been able to manage this tournament as they should. First they banned whole circus team by actions of one and now they are letting teams to push tournament longer and bend the rules. Whole dropping from OT if it was case like you described should be penalizied. -
Banning whole team for actions of one is truly a shame.
