  1. Great post.

Something I'm sure many of us players agree on is that the GM/captain gets way too little credit. Trying to scramble together a lineup of 6 guys with different schedules is hard enough, but then you have to match the schedules with your opponent on top of that. I'm surely not envious of that assignment. Not only scheduling, but trying to keep all the guys happy and finding the proper roles for everyone is a huge hassle as well.

What I wanted to say is hats off to all GMs/Captains. This league wouldn't work without the 98 capable captains (and their assistants).

  2. Hey, I'm having trouble reporting our games from tonight. (1-0 aF, 7-0 aF)

The first game doesn't show up at all in the selection menu when reporting games. Attached is a screenshot of the view I have.

    https://nhlgamer.com/match.php?matchID=6977
The last game we disconnected and I used the old tool in the reporting. When I finished the report, I got a warning about some goals "already being added". The report is fine otherwise, but after the 3rd goal (disconnected at 3-0) the goals I added are not visible except for a goal at 40:00 in the second period which is wrong.
Correct scoresheet for the rest of the game:

    3rd Period:

    04:28 S.Deby (N.Stoo, O.Vainio)
    09:00 O.Vainio (N.Stoo)
    10:04 S.Deby (N.Stoo, J.Jaha)
    16:41 S.Deby (N.Stoo, -.-)

It's not a slap to their face if they do not get free pass to Pro, which they did not deserve by playing. They should take responsibility for their performance last season and prove they belong to Pro and get that promotion by playing.

Open Pro spots should be open by application for everyone, new or old team. Team that finished strong in Lite last season would still have pretty good chances to get a spot.

Obviously I agree that open pro sport should be open by application for everyone.

In my post I didn't really refer to the subject of who should be promoted. I might have gotten a bit of tunnel-vision as I didn't realize that the actual problem is that there are empty spots in pro that have to be filled.

In the situation you are referring to I completely agree that if a lite team didn't qualify for pro last season it's just too bad. They should indeed be at the same line with other applicants for the pro spot.

  4. The Cup idea sounds awesome! It will give lower-tier teams a chance to show their skill and higher-tier teams maybe an opportunity to give backup players some icetime.
I think it also would make a larger part of the community more engaged.

Regarding the discussion about placement of new teams. I think that if there even needs to be a discussion the new team should be placed in lite. I'm not advocating for ex. a stacked team being placed in lite and wrecking everyone. But if we look at Fat cats I don't think they have proven such dominance that they should be allowed to skip Lite. There is a huge skill difference in that division and I believe that at least top teams will not be giving Fat cats a free pass. It's just a slap in the face for players trying to grind their way to the big stages. I feel the pain for established players who have to step back to Lite for a season, but if you're really on the level you say, it'll be an easy promotion.

Yet again - not saying teams shouldn't be given pro/elite spots, but I just think it's unnecessary to consider if there even needs to be a discussion about it.

  5. Playboys HC is looking for players for ECL 5!

We are a newly formed club with players that have previous experience in competitive 6v6 hockey.
During the summer we are hoping to finalize a roster for the next ECL as early as possible. Most likely as a new club we will be participating in the lite division in our first season. The goal is immediate promotion to pro, as we feel that this will approximately be our competitive level at the moment.

What we need is 1 winger, 1 center and 1 defenseman. If you are the one we are looking for playtime is guaranteed. Preferably we will have set positions during the season with as little shuffling as possible, however it is a plus if you can play multiple positions.

    The optimal player for us:

    - One of the positions mentioned above
    - Flexible, plays multiple positions
    - Available most days
    - Previous ECL experience (not mandatory)
    - 18 years or older (not mandatory)

It is also nice if you would be Finnish, but we are also open to playing with players of different nationalities.

If you’re looking for a team with chill atmosphere and good environment to develop your game, don’t hesitate to contact us:

  6. RD/LW still looking for team for the upcoming ECL season.

No previous ECL experience but a very experienced nhl/eashl player. I've been playing eashl for some decent teams and now I'm looking to play competitive again.

Fairly recently got into this community so that's why I haven't played ECL before.

Strengths are a calm breakout and solid defensive play. Also a decent powerplay playmaker.

Hit me up at psn jahajaha93 and try me out. I'll surprise you for a newcomer.

    Cheers
