I completely agree with the points about the tools available for defensemen—it’s really tough to be effective on defense right now. If you get too close, you risk getting reverse-hit and leaving open space behind you, or the forward can quickly flick and burn you on the other side. On the other hand, if your player is too big, they’re usually too slow and can easily get walked around by a forward with Wheels. All situational ofcourse. If you don’t have Wheels as a defenseman, you’ll get burned almost every time by a forward with Wheels and full stamina on the counterattack—unless you position yourself very early, and even then it’s tough. Playing as a defenseman is extremely punishing, while playing as a forward doesn’t seem nearly as costly. Even if you manage to steer the forward to the outside and into the corner, you’ll still have trouble blocking passing lanes. A forward with 85 passing can force a pass through you, even if you have 90+ defensive awareness and position yourself face forward towards the puck carrier. Stick lifting has been nerfed into the ground and even removed as a trait this year. Stick checking has also been nerfed; even if you get your stick on the puck, a speedy forward will almost always recover it. You have to swing your stick to poke the puck away, but that’s also very difficult. I found that Elite No Contest is pretty strong, atleast it gives you a chance to win the puck. Still, a forward with Big Rig or Unstoppable makes life even harder. I haven’t tried the Quick Pick trait enough to give a solid opinion.3 points

Exactly my thoughts. At least truculence needs to be banned, you don't even need to anything to totally crush your opponents with this perk and you won't get any penalties. And if wheels is allowed, basically everyone needs to have it so banning it would be good for the versatile perspective.1 point

News story in Finnish / Uutinen suomeksi: https://ence.gg/article/maailman-suurin-nhl-2v2-turnaus-jarjestetaan-jalleen-lokakuussa/ Last year, the inaugural Voittamattomat Änäris tournament took the NHL community by storm, and now the event is back with a refreshed format. Registration is officially open, and the grand finals will be played on Saturday, October 11th at the stunning Finnkino Tennispalatsi LUXE theater in Helsinki. The qualifiers and finals will be broadcast live on the EkiTammenpaa YouTube channel, and fans will also be able to attend the finals on-site. Seating in the LUXE theater is limited to around 50 spectators. Register for Competitive Division Qualifier #1 (Oct 4) 🇫🇮 Register for Competitive Division Qualifier #2 (Oct 5) 🇫🇮 Register for Amateur Division Qualifier (Oct 4) 🇫🇮 This year’s tournament comes with a few key changes. Unlike last year, where some finalist pairs received direct invitations, every player – including the tournament’s headliner Erik @Eki Tammenpää – will need to battle through the qualifiers to earn their place. Another highly requested addition is the brand-new Amateur Division, offering a lower-barrier path for more casual players to join the action. “After last year’s success, we were excited to team up with ENCE again to take this tournament to the next level. The 2v2 format is truly unique in NHL – you won’t see it anywhere else at this scale. We’ve partnered with amazing sponsors who make this all possible. Nikke and I are ready to defend our title – come challenge us if you dare!” said tournament ambassador and reigning champion, Eki. Tournament Format Open Division Qualifiers: Saturday, Oct 4 & Sunday, Oct 5 Amateur Division Qualifiers: Saturday, Oct 4 Format: Single Elimination, Best-of-1 Advancement: Top 2 pairs from each qualifier move on to the finals Finals Lineup: 4 Open Division pairs + 2 Amateur Division pairs Geographical limitations: This tournament is open to players living in Finland. 🇫🇮 Prize Pool Competitive Division: 5 000 € total – with 3 000 € awarded to the champions Amateur Division: Product prize packages provided by tournament partners Participation Prizes: Just signing up gives you a chance to win! Among all entrants, we’ll raffle out 2x pairs of tickets to a Liiga game of choice and 2x ENCE product packages. Hi! Experienced player looking for a team ecl and ithl. Preferred playing positions are either wing. I can handle both hands. I feel like I'm a good team player and it's important for me to balance the game as well. Preferably Lite/Core/Neo Preferably a Finnish team, but others will also be considered.
