After a few days of reflection... I decided as former captain to recreate the team that won the ECL 23 CORE vs Ismon Valinta FRENCH EAGLES is back. since I played various tournaments with foreigners whether ECL, ITHL, or others.. with players level from LITE, PRO and ELITE. Really enjoying the constructive nature of the posts in recent days. Good conversations - keep it up! While I completely understand this suggestion and have thought about it myself, I do think it creates some issues where moving between divisions could be problematic for teams and players. Of course, moving up to a higher level might make you need to study your game and make changes, but if the rules of the games are too different, maybe your playing style from a lower division doesn't apply at all, because you lose or gain some aspects of the game that weren't there before your promotion. This especially applies to the promotion/relegation battle between Pro and Elite. For this reason, it is much easier to apply the same principles as widely as possible between divisions. That being said, if this was an approach that a clear majority agrees to and wants, of course, it can be discussed. I just don't think it's the right approach for the above-mentioned reasons.1 point

You know what would be fun ? Arrange a poll before every season in every division to decide how to play the season. That way all the teams can vote what to ban in that division for the season. If neo division wants to play with nothing banned but lite wants trucu and tipper banned , it doesnt affect other ddivisions way to play 🤷1 point

I have played the game since the first iteration of EASHL in NHL 09, and I can honestly say the EASHL side of things, gameplay wise, is the best it has been in a long time. I would even go as far as saying it's the best it has been in the PS4/PS5 era. We have finally moved away from the god awful pakota vaan (force) meta, and can score from plays farther out from the net. When someone scores a golden one-tee goal against us, I feel like we have made a mistake in our coverage, as opposed to a forced pass getting through in front of the net, which can go through even if it's "covered". I think teams should be punished for breakdowns in coverage and the game feels rewarding both offensively and defensively that way. Obviously I have dropped down divisions this year, moved to the wing and use golden 1T, so my opinion might be a bit biased, but I've played with and against Elite teams enough in this version as well to confidently say the meta is way better than it used to be. I am 100% in favor of leaving things as they are with only Big Tipper being banned. I fear an XF ban would move the meta back towards forcing, net scrambles and broken plays in front of the net, which is both boring to play and boring to watch. Even with sniper builds on wings. EDIT: Another thing to note is having to cover the 1T/CQ makes the defence more active and opens up space in other areas of the ice, as teams can't just collapse to the slot and play passively on defence.1 point

Our first champion has been crowned in the ECL '25: Winter season with Blackbirds defeating SSK Esports 4-0 in the finals of the Pro Division. With their championship, they clinch their spot in Elite in the upcoming ECL '25: Spring season whereas SSK will have to fight for their spot in the qualifiers. The core of the Blackbird squad goes all the way back to the ECL '22: Spring season but they really got going in the ECL '23: Spring Lite season with the xBOTS squad and earned a spot in Pro. After a very short-lived stint in the Pro Division, they got their original squad back together for another season in Lite. After that season they made some key changes in the lineup, acquiring their new goaltender and attacker who would end up being their top-scorer of their Championship season. Interestingly enough, prior to this season the team had never made it past the second round of the playoffs. The Blackbirds squad started their season in the Pro Qualifiers, which they went through in the second stage. After an up-and-down regular season, they found themselves in fifth place in Group 1 heading into the playoffs. In the postseason we saw a total turnaround from the team as they crushed opponents one after another, losing only two games on their road to the Championship. We got to see some great offense from the team as each of their attackers scored over a goal per game in the playoffs as well as one of the best goalie performances to remember. Following the footsteps of the Almost Famous team from the ECL '24: Spring season, they're now the second team to win a Championship in the Pro Division straight after being promoted. We got a chance to interview Blackbirds' captain and right winger Lauri @sopulii04 Enström after clinching the title, where he spoke about their season and the dominant playoff run.
