  7. Cmon man) as a goalie you have to find ways to stop shots no matter what. From goalie perspective Tippers are the most fearsome thing. It was previously mentioned that it could be stopped before with stick lift at least, but now guy can tip no matter what. Also you say you can defend it by crowding the guy and then complain about one tee, which can be covered with the same approach really, but the thing is - tipper can’t be really stopped with that and also with good goalie positioning. also, main thing about tipper is that it encourage teams to play shitty hockey - that’s the problem mainly. and CQ is really not a thing if you position good. I dare you - Lxndstrom for example, will penetrate you on close up without this perk anyway)))) that’s just skill not perks. And also I agree that stick em up is the new go to perk, which also kills hitting, making everyone go for the vicious poke checks all the time. But even this is not that lame as abusing tipper. and ofc every C will use it if it would be legit. Cause it’s an option you can’t go by just because you feel yourself as an honorable knight in shiny armor 😂 at the end of the day - you have to use the build which will give you the best chance to win.

  8. Our decision to place Oljefondet in a higher division in the warmup tournament than 'they want to play in' is due to us wanting to preserve and uphold the competitive integrity of the ECL. Oljefondet finished first in their ECL Neo group last season, progressing all the way to the semi finals, before losing to the eventual champion of ECL Neo (ECL Neo during this season had 50+ teams). Since then, Oljefondet has at the very least carried forward a roster of equal skill level to their previous season, and so we do not feel that ECL Neo would be an appropriate place for them to play, especially as ECL Neo is meant to be a place where players and teams wholly new to the game can play without matching up against opponents who are in a completely different skill bracket. This has been outlined in the past whenever the issue of competitive integrity regarding ECL Neo has come up and we have remained consistent when applying said principle. Furthermore, we would like to remind teams that ultimately playing in SportsGamer hosted tournaments is a privilege, not a right. Nobody has the right to play in ECL Neo just because they want to if they would then upset the skill balance within the division. Similarly, on the opposite end of the spectrum, no one has the right to play in ECL Elite just because they are nominally good but haven't earned the chance to play in the division. Therefore, while we appreciate that it is annoying to potentially get 'pushed' into a situation that isn't comfortable, please understand that we are doing this (and again, we have done so in the past with other teams who we deemed to not be an appropriate fit for ECL Neo) to promote competitiveness and push players, and teams, to be the very best that they can be - nothing more, nothing less. Finally, to close this post off, we would like to pay particular attention to a couple of Oljefondet's claims. One, the claim that this decision was last minute and 'not okay'. The decision meant that they were placed into a different division in the free-to-play warmup tournament, which is one month away from the start of the upcoming ECL. As such, while we appreciate the frustration from the decision coming so close to the start of the warmup tournament and will look to make more of an effort at being more proactive at releasing important information sooner in future. We also feel it's a good moment for a bit of perspective as ultimately the warmup tournament is an elective competition that no team is forced to sign up for, carries no sign-up fee, and is meant to be something for teams to use first and foremost as practice against similarly ranked opponents. Two, the claim that this move was motivated by money (license fees). While there is no denying finances and keeping SportsGamer going is important, as without some money being injected into the operations we wouldn’t be able to provide the level of tournament quality that we currently offer, the decision to move Oljefondet up a division was 100% based on maintaining competitive integrity. We have asked teams to move / change divisions in the past and a non-insignificant amount of them have been asked to drop down a division (and therefore pay a lower amount to SportsGamer), as such we feel that this argument put forth by Oljefondet is not a fair conclusion to arrive to. - LA

  16. Maybe you think you’re done but we are not. That was a lot of words to cover up your own mistake - not giving us an option just one day ahead of puck drop. We signed up as soon it opened up. Thats several weeks ago - and thats where the low level of handling this starts. It seems to end with Sg not being able to aknowledge the fact that youre not consistent. You’re bumping us up to a higher division after one successfull run. Other teams, better than us which have been a part of the neo-division for several years without being threated this way. When we founded our team we didnt think it would end because SG decided to alter the possibilities for us to continue. Core or lite demand a lot more of time and organizing - in addition to a higher level. It’s a strange thing that isnt a factor when you guys decide which teams should be on a higher level.

  17. I was mostly kidding, mirroring the words you used, haha 😊 I just disagree with you, is all. Big Tipper is the only attribute worth banning and it is not even close, IMO. If I were forced to add another attribute to that list, I'd be Stick 'Em Up. If you were to look at all the opposing players you face in an evening, the one trait (Silver or Gold) that would used by more than 90% of the players (defenders and forwards) it wouldn't be BT, QC, OT, TRUC or UF... It would be SEU. And that includes 3/5 players on my team, we use it too. The amount of errant poke- and stick checks that players get away with right now is hilarious. But still not worth banning, IMO.

  18. Agree with essentially all of this, except the last sentence. UF and Truc (or any of the other abilities in 25, for that matter) aren't game-breaking enough to be banned, IMO, and shouldn't be lumped in with Big Tipper "just because". But that's almost exactly what you said, so 😄 However, I have come around fully on banning Big Tipper. It does change the entire dynamic of the game and it does rely almost solely on RNG. If LA were to compromise and change their "No Ban"-stance to "No Bans, except BT", I don't think anyone would shed any tears.

  19. I definitely agree that Big Tipper should be banned. It's hard to defend against because tying up sticks in front of the net isn't as effective as it used to be. However, I don’t understand the reasoning behind banning the other two. Do you really think UF is overpowered? Bumping seems really ineffective, and everyone is just using stick checking on defense. Why would people waste an ability spot on UF if nobody is relying on body checking? Also, Trucu has already been nerfed, and I don’t think it’s overpowered anymore. There are better abilities available than that. It feels like people are demanding the UF ban just because it used to be too strong, but in my opinion, that’s not the case anymore. That said, if I had to choose between banning all three or banning nothing, I’d choose to ban all three, because the Big Tipper ban is absolutely necessary.

  20. SG and Kenu have their own agenda. That does not seem to include listening to their players. How this case has been handled is totally amateur-level. One (1) day before puckdrop we got the news of this - ONE day! No chance of any discussions or say in the matter what so ever! A large part of the swedish NHL gaming-community has been updated and support from the bigger names and teams in Sweden will hopefully come in the future since Kenu and SG are operating more like a economically driven scam instead of a community every player and team can thrive in based on their own level and ambition. //Oljefondet

  23. It sucks big time that you guys are forcing Oljefondet to play in a higher division than they feel they belong in. And the result of this is that they decided to not play at all in the pre-cup. My team is actually having a vote if we should withdraw before we play any games to show support for Oljefondet. I know we are unknown players in my team but maybe more teams will follow. I know that we will get punished if we do but what you guys do is wrong.

  37. ECL ’25: Winter Sign-Ups Open – The Stage is Set for Europe’s Finest With the start of another thrilling season in European NHL esports fast approaching, the ECL ’25: Winter season opens its doors to a new wave of competitors. Since its inception in 2015, the European Championship League (ECL) has established itself as the pinnacle of eHockey, where top players from across the continent face off in a 6v6 format that leaves no margin for error. Every position on the ice—forward, defense, and even the goalies—is controlled by human players, creating a uniquely competitive environment. With divisions ranging from elite to entry-level, the ECL provides a platform for all skill levels to prove themselves. This winter, the stakes are higher than ever. As teams finalize their rosters and strategies, the countdown begins: who will rise to the challenge and who will fall short? With registration now open, the road to eHockey glory starts here. With a total prize pool of 24,000 EUR on the line—spread across both 6v6 and 1v1 formats—the stage is set for the most competitive season yet in European NHL esports. The ECL is the pinnacle of European NHL esports. The abbreviation stands for the European Championship League and it features NHL 6v6 esports in five divisions aimed at various skill levels. Every player, including the goalies, is controlled by a human. League games are played in the EASHL mode and the platform is PlayStation and Xbox. ECL has been played since 2015, so the upcoming season is already the 17th. The latest addition to the ECL product family is a 1v1 tournament, where Europe's best solo players fight for the championship. ECL 1v1 has been played since the ECL '23 Winter season. Basic information/requirements of ECL: Regional restrictions: ECL is a European tournament format, however, we do not necessarily exclude players located in North America or Asia. A European server will always be used. We reserve the right to exclude teams or players in case of severe connection issues. Individual requirements: Each player needs to have an account at SportsGamer.GG and create their personal player card. ECL licenses: Teams in ECL Elite & ECL Pro, ECL Lite, and ECL Core will require their respective ECL ‘25: Winter team licenses in order to play. In addition, every player in the above-mentioned divisions needs to have a valid ECL ‘25: Player License or ECL ‘25: Winter Player License before taking the ice. Players in ECL Neo require only an ECL '25: Winter Neo Player License. The ECL '25 Pre-Season tournament does not require the license, but purchasing the license early on is recommended for faster processing. Rules: The ECL '25 rulebook will be published closer to the season, you can check out last season's rules here. Team looking for additions to your roster? If you are a free agent looking to be picked up, please head over here. If you are representing a team looking for players, please head over here. Need more help, check out the below article! Early Bird Offer on Player and Team Licenses Below you’ll find the pricing of the team and player licenses for ECL ‘25. You can pick up the ECL ‘25: Winter Team license and the ECL ‘25: Player License (Winter + Spring) for the Early Bird pricing listed below. After that, we will offer a slightly elevated regular pricing from October 20th onward. PURCHASE YOUR ECL '25 LICENSES HERE For those of you participating in the qualifiers and unsure which division your team will play in for the ECL ‘25: Winter season, you can still take advantage of this offer; Purchase the Super Early Bird license for the division you are qualifying for and if your team is unsuccessful in the mission, we will refund you the difference to the Super Early Bird price for the division your team ends up in. For example, if you enter the qualifiers for the Lite division, purchase the Super Early Bird Lite license. If your team doesn’t qualify for the Lite division, you will play in the Core division and we will refund you the difference - in this example: 100 EUR. The ECL Neo division does not require a team license, however, we are introducing an ECL Neo Player license at the cost of 10 EUR per season. This will enable us to improve our coverage of the division, cover the finals broadcast and offer access to the two formats: the ECL Cup & the 4v4 tournament. Read more about them below. Please refer to this ECL Ranking in order to understand which teams are eligible to sign up for each division. Introducing two new formats - ECL Cup & ECL 4v4 We've been cooking up some extra fun to be had during the season and we can't take all the credit, as there have definitely been suggestions coming in from the community. ECL Cup is a knock-out type tournament that is played with your ECL 6v6 team. The Cup is played as a single elimination bracket populated by ECL teams from all divisions. The bracket is played at a slower pace and the action will go on for weeks, but if you lose - you're out! A bit dramatic perhaps, but oh boy are we expecting some drama! ECL 4v4 is exactly what it sounds like - a tournament played in the 4v4 mode of the game. All positions are to be filled with human-controlled players. We understand this game mode might not be for everyone, so the 4v4 tournament will not be a requirement for anyone to enter. ECL 1v1 is also back and we're excited to announce that we will be seeing some structural changes for the upcoming season, which we'll tell you more about in the near future. We'll have more info about all of these fun events in the coming weeks, but you may absolutely feel free to speculate and come with your wishes in the comments below, as there could still be time for adjustments! New License perks We're excited to share that we will be able to offer the following perks to ECL '25 license owners: Assembly Winter 2025 Tickets Limited Time Offer: Get a free ticket to Assembly Winter 2025 for Thursday, February 20th! Introducing the ECL Social Program – designed to spotlight the best content from around the league and reward those who go the extra mile. While we’ll be focusing on video content, exceptional overall social media coverage is also appreciated. Stay tuned for more details and specifics on how you can get involved! Rule Changes & Community Opinion We would like to raise two items up for a community vote and open up the floor for discussion. Zone & Superstar Abilities - Yay or nay? For the ECL ‘24: Spring season we decided to ban a selection of Zone & Superstar Abilities. As NHL 25 is a new release, and we haven't had a chance to test it out yet, our initial instinct is to start with a clean slate and not ban any abilities until the community gets to know the new game and has a chance to make up its mind about whether the abilities are working or not. While we have preliminarily set our minds on not banning any abilities for the first season, we welcome the discussion and would love to hear your opinion. You can discuss player abilities here. Are there some rule-related changes we’ve missed? Now is your chance to discuss and suggest what type of changes you would like to see in the rulebook. PLEASE NOTE: ECL '25: WINTER 1v1 SIGNUPS WILL LAUNCH LATER Sign up NOW for the ECL '25: Pre-season tournament and stay tuned for the official kick-off of the ECL ’25: Winter Signups, launching mid-September!

  38. Hi! This post is regarding my services of commentating games in Finnish. This is why the rest of the post is in Finnish. Oletko joskus lähettänyt ECL-pelejä Twitchiin? Kaipaatko niihin lisää tunnetta? Harmittaako, kun vodit eivät jää talteen? Moi, Mkine tässä! Selostin viime kaudella Almost Famousin pelejä Twitchin puolella, ja osa teistä varmaan kävi katsomassa lähetyksiä – iso kiitos siitä! Pelejä yhdelle joukkueelle tulee harvakseltaan, joten tulevalla kaudella voisin ottaa lisää selostuksia, vaikka juuri sinun joukkueeltasi! Tasolla ei ole väliä, kunhan netti kestää ja lähetys pysyy ylhäällä. Hinta selostuksille? Huokea 0€! Kiinnostuitko? Laita yksityisviestiä, niin katsotaan, miten aikataulut saadaan sovitettua. Jos useampi joukkue haluaa selostuksia samalle päivälle, arpakone ratkaisee, minkä niistä valitsen. Selostukset tulevat suomeksi ja minun kanavalleni. Aikaisempia matseja voi käydä katsomassa täällä: https://www.youtube.com/@Mkinee Olkaa rohkeasti yhteydessä! Edit: Discord: .kalervo X: @twitchmkine
