Hey everyone! I've always been bothered how the ECL is called the "European Championship League", But there's always 2 winning teams per year? Doesn't quite feel that much like a European championship, at least for me. I've talked about this for many years but I feel like the community is getting bigger and naming 1 European Champion per year would be smart thing to do, for the players + for the people watching. My suggestion: - 1 ECL every NHL. But make the season last 2x longer. So For Elite let's change the 30 games to 60 etc etc.. - In the middle of the season: Have the same promotion/relegation system in place as we do now, so It still takes the same time to get promoted/relegated between divisions. - After the promotions/relegations let's have a cup type tournament for every division, let's call this the "ECL Cup". Where we have a BO5 playoffs for each divisions playoff teams at that moment to determine the "ECL Cup" winner for each division. OR this "Cup" could also be split into 2, so combined playoff bracket from let's say Elite/Pro divisions best teams and making 1 big playoff bracket (of course more teams from the higher divisions would be added). and 1 cup for lite/neo/core (you could go into a lot of different directions with this). - After we have the "ECL Cup" winners, all the standings in the divisions are reset, and the divisions continue the same as we have now. And at the end of it all, we have all the divisions champions in place for that NHL, Elite's winner can call themselves the European Champion. Similar system is in place in Finland's junior leagues (without the cup thing) 😀 Let me know what you think. Would love to get feedback + opinions.30 points

NHLGamers, Many - including our writing crew in our Finals Preview - doubted FILADEPHIA’s chances tonight after witnessing hREDS’s dominating performance in the ECL 12 Elite Finals a couple months ago. But FILADELPHIA would not budge, and successfully defended their Finnish Championship title with an overwhelming performance. Despite the finals ending in a sweep, the games were very even with game 1 being decided in overtime and the decisive game 3 seeing a game winning goal in the dying minutes of the game. Game 1: hREDS - FILADELPHIA 1-2 OT Game 2: FILADELPHIA - hREDS 4-1 Game 3: hREDS - FILADELPHIA 1-2 FILADELPHIA's s road to the championship: Invited straight to the Playoffs as the reigning champion Round 1: vs Bruise Brothers (64) 3-0 Round 2: vs Shameful Knights (47) 3-0 Round 3: vs Conquer Gaming (23) 3-1 Quarterfinals: vs Otukset eSports (16) 3-0 Semifinals: vs KOVA Esports (10) 3-0 Finals: vs hREDS (2) 3-0 The winning roster: GOALTENDERS #72 Casper @ICappeI Lundgren DEFENSEMEN #3 Teemu @Xteemuz Polttila #27 Aleksi @loimmu Loimuvirta FORWARDS #25 Erik @EkiTammenpää #44 Paul @PleeMaker Arontie #86 Joonas @Patzlaf Paatiala Photo credit: Topias Uusiheimo / SEUL The top 3 teams of FCL 6v6 are: 🥇 FILADELPHIA 🥈 hREDS 🥉 GOONS Congratulations to the champions on behalf of the entire community, and a warm thank you to all participants!26 points

HAVU GAMING Lets keep this short. Now when "Puantso" left us in good agreement, we obviously are at least in need of LW for upcoming NHL 22 and ECL. Possible try-outs starts when NHL 22 comes out. We want to know what kind of options we have. We prefer Elite and high-level experienced right-handed players who are hungry and really motivated to improve their game, grind the game and take the feedback from us. We wanna be fresh and active team in next NHL. That's what we have agreed for. We still have what it takes to be the best team out there and with our players and experience we think we can offer you the best possible circumstances to improve yourself. NHLGamers, After a long Friday night with a lot of 1v1 action, we are able to present to you - STILL the Finnish 1v1 NHL Champion, Arttu @Artuzio Mustila! This is his second consecutive Finnish Championship. How you commentate your finals against xDoumi tonight? "We have played even games with xDoumi along the year and there was no room for mistakes tonight. However, I managed to get the job done. I played the best and most relaxed game of all year today and this came in the best possible place. " NHLGamer would like to congratulate Artuzio on a tremendous tournament and the championship! Please tune in for the FCL 6v6 Finals on Saturday at 17 CEST: https://www.twitch.tv/NHLGamer Photo: Pekka Nummela / SEUL Let's take a look back at @Artuzio's road to the championship: Group stage record: Invited straight to the finals stage Finals group stage record: 5-0-1 (#5 seed) RO16 vs @Kemppane_ 3-2 Quarterfinals vs @OsquuG 3-0 Semifinals vs @NikkeDangles2-0 Finals vs @xDoumi 2-0 The top 3 of FCL 1vs1 are: 🥇 Arttu @Artuzio Mustila 🥈 Aaro @xDoumi Ruuhinen 🥉 Niklas @NikkeDangles Tukiainen Photo: Pekka Nummela / SEUL Photo: Pekka Nummela / SEUL5 points

I think the thought itself (having one champion per year) is a good one, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to go about it. I'm not familiar with the Finnish junior league system, so all I have to go off is the description you've provided here, but at first glance it seems like it's pretty much what already happens with the exception that the first ECL of the game's cycle is renamed to give it less meaning/value? Seems to me like if you have one long season with a halfway point that includes a promotion/relegation series, divisional playoffs for the top teams, resetting of the standings after said playoffs, presumably re-opening of the transfer window, etc., then isn't that what we have currently? As mentioned before, it would certainly mean a lot more if there was only one champion per year, and that would also resemble the system that takes place in most traditional sports leagues, but my guess is that it would be hard to fully make the transition to a single, year-round tournament due to the nature of nhl 6v6 esports. Some of the reasons being that teams are formed by the players themselves, which tend to change rosters/ownership at much higher rates; some teams being in a division that does not match their level, thus causing the need for somewhat frequent promotions/relegations; the fact that this is just a casual pastime for the vast majority and not everyone can or should be forced to engage in something like that for a whole year. Perhaps there is a way to make it work, though, and I would definitely be interested to see how that works out.4 points

RoKi Esports NHL 22 is soon here and it's time to focus already for the another ECL season in Lite division. Our main roster hasn't changed from what it was at FCL, but it's necessary to get some new faces to the team as there are always some variables along the way. We are looking for Starter/Back-up Goalie. You can be experienced or rookie, it doesn't matter. We need you to be active and your performances at try-out & pre-season affects your playing time. There's also open spot for Right Wing as our current RW may not be able to play as much as we need. Priority for player which is looking to be a starter, but we are open for back-ups also. It's always a advantage if you can play other positions also. We are always aiming to get players to be part of our team as an long-time players and our success has been upward in every tournament. We hope that this trend continues and we can get our team to the next level and hopefully we could manage to get players which help us to achieve this level. Our former seasons so far: ECL 10, Lite, Did not reach playoffs (Basic Instinct before Roki Esports) ECL 11, Lite, Reached playoffs 1st round (Top 64) ECL 12, Lite, Reached playoffs 1st round (Top 32) FCL 2021, Reached playoffs 1st round (Top 64) Maybe trend continues and we are able to reach top 16 in the next ECL, we'll see Try-outs are starting when NHL 22 is officially released. What about 3 ECL per year. (Make them shorter) Bo5 in the playoffs etc. Most ECL titles -> Champions. If there is 3 teams with 1 title each -> Play a mini-cup --> Winner, new Champ. Or, let's go full CS:GO https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike/Majors1 point

NHLGamers, In 2019 it was HAVU Gaming lifting the trophy. In 2020 FILADELPHIA wrestled it from HAVU's hands. In 2021, hREDS will be trying to do the same to FILA. Will they be successful? Or will FILA manage to become the first Champion to defend their title? Can KOVA finish their underdog success story by snatching the bronze under the noses of the impressive GOONS? And how will the players be effected by finally, finally being back in a LAN enviroment the games kick off at the magnificent Game Cave in Espoo, Finland? Ladies and gentlemen, you'll have your answers tonight. Welcome to the 2021 FCL 6v6 Finals event. Here is the full schedule for the night: 17:00 CEST Broadcast starts -------- 17:20 CEST Bronze - Game 1 17:50 CEST Bronze - Game 2 18:20 CEST Bronze - Game 3 (if necessary) -------- 19:00 CEST Finals intro 19:15 CEST Finals - Game 1 10:45 CEST Finals - Game 2 20:20 CEST Finals - Game 3 20:55 CEST Finals - Game 4 (if necessary) 21:30 CEST Finals - Game 5 (if necessary) (2) hREDS vs (1) FILADELPHIA This is it. Truly your matchup of matchups between the two best teams in not just Finland, but in Europe as well at the moment. Having faced off recently in the ECL 12 Elite Finals, these two teams are intimately familiar with each other - and not a single roster change has taken place since then. While FILA likely feels their true revenge against hREDS lies in re-claiming the coveted ECL Elite trophy, defending their FCL title and becoming the first champion in FCL 6v6 history to do so (Artuzio defended his title in 1v1 just yesterday), would be as good an opportunity as any to re-establish dominance over hREDS. Don't think the hREDS side are likely to just sit back and let that happen, though. Made up exclusively of young guns hungry to continue their winning ways, hREDS will be entering this one brimming with motivation and energy to add a Finnish Championship to their ever-expanding trophy room. The last time these two teams met in competitive circumstances, hREDS seemed to catch FILA off guard with their picture-perfect trap and their well-executed pokechecks. This time, FILA will have seen that trick before and will be prepared to adjust even before first puck drop. Even so, it'll be a tough task for the multi-champs to defend their title against such a hungry pack of wolves. Prediction: 3-1 hREDS (10) KOVA Esports vs (8) GOONS The GOONS have had a strong run since their formation in the ECL 11 Pro division. Losing in the finals and securing a league promotion, they followed that up by making the playoffs right away in the über-competitive Elite division and here they are; top-4 in the FCL after having eliminated 2019 FCL Champions HAVU Gaming among others. Safe to say, GOONS will look to end NHL 21 with a bang, rather than a whimper. They'll face stiff competition from KOVA Esports though, Coming into the FCL with a revamped roster (at least on the ice), KOVA have taken down some big fish like JYP Jyväskylä and POGGERS on their way to this bronze battle. Their quick counter-attacks have been proven lethal before, will they be again versus GOONS? Most of the players in this matchup haven't tasted the LAN enviroment before so seeing how that plays out could add an extra wrinkle to this already exciting matchup. Prediction: 0-2 GOONS Tune in to www.twitch.tv/NHLGamer tonight at 17:00 CEST to find out which team will claim the medals in this exciting LAN finish to the 2021 FCL season.1 point

Hi! 30 yo Finnish player looking for tryout spot in lite or pro team. I have played all forward positions but mostly C & RW. Left winger is also okay for me, but I'm playing with left handed stick. I really appreciate a good and easygoing atmosphere. My best features are at the attacking zone. Game intelligence and reading the game are my strengths with passing skills. Being a playmaker is my clear strength but I can also score goals. Fast passing and puck possession fit my playing style very well. My best features naturally are in the attack area but that doesn’t mean I can’t defend. I'm sure that I have A LOT of unused potential. I am open to offers and tryouts. Contact me and I can tell you more. You can contact me here, psn jalitmane10 or dc jalitmane10#2444 BR, Litti ❤️1 point

Aloha! Hawaii Hockey's roster has free spots ready to be claimed by some skillful player for the upcoming ECL Pro season. We are primarily looking for a C or RW. LD could potentially be of interest as well. Apart from being skilled with the puck, the player we are looking for needs to have the same mindset as us regarding team play. Meaning, we attack as a unit and defend as one. Defenders are to be used very often in the offensive zone. Forwards has the most skill up front but are happy to cover up for an eventual defender breaking up the ice. We want to play a dynamic and entertaining hockey. Our most important goals are not the results or advance to Elite above everything else. This doesn't mean that we don't give a 💩 about the results. We play to win and have high ambitions 💪. But for us, other stuff are more essential. (Hold on, cliché punch slogan incoming) We'd like to keep a chill group of players long term who for real enjoy playing the game together on a level that creates motivation for all 🔥 As we speak English in the party it's good if you can understand and speak the language on a basic level. During off-season we plan to play about 2-3 times a week together as starting lineup. For now we aim to play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays from about 20-21 Swedish time (can be adjustable). There will of course be opportunity to play more but on other days than these, it could be with backup- or guest players as well. Are you interested in trying out with us, contact @AG_Jarl or @MaciPapihere or on PlayStation. /😎🌴1 point
