  3. I guess we never say these things when people are still alive but Im proud about Sami and his ECL career. Remember him from I think PS3 times and way back. Gentleman that didnt deserve to go this early. Might go back to playing winger since hes not going to wreck me anymore. All the love to his family and kids. ❤️ Rest Easy, Sami.

  4. NHLGamers, During last week, the quarterfinals of the eSHL were played and with that we're left with the four best Swedish teams, who will match up against each other at Inferno Online in Stockholm over the weekend. We'll start off on Friday with the two semifinal series and continue on Saturday with the culmination point - the finals! Here's a look at both of the semifinal series: (1) Linkoping HC vs Leksands IF (4) REGULAR SEASON RECORD 21-1-0 vs 14-7-1 TOP SCORER @PleeMaker (46+39=85) vs @Isindar (24+26=50) GOALTENDER @ICappeI (25GP, 24W, 85.28SV%, 1.16GAA, 11SO) vs @Rundqviiist (17GP, 10W, 85.22%, 1,76GAA, 3SO) Linkoping HC has expectedly plowed through opposition throughout the season and had no problem getting through to the semifinals in their quarterfinal matchup against the eighth seed HV71. Leksands IF on the other side has proven to be something of the overachiever this season. A playoff run was expected, but a surprisingly consistent push throughout the season put the team in great position for the playoffs, in which they competed a reverse sweep in a convincing comeback against Lulea Hockey. This matchup is going to be fought mainly between the quick witted offense of Linkoping and the defensive unit and goaltender of Leksand. A complete lockdown defense is what worked for Leksand in the quarterfinals, will they be able to continue on that path against one of the worlds most well oiled offensive machines? (2) Malmo Redhawks vs Farjestad BK (3) REGULAR SEASON RECORD 19-3-0 vs 16-4-2 TOP SCORER @FlyerKungen (51+47=98) vs @I-Maise-I (32+44=76) GOALTENDER @Thunborg5 (25GP, 22W, 78,31SV%, 1.44GAA, 7SO) vs @Pippo (6GP, 6W, 76,09SV%, 1,83GAA, 1SO) The Redhawks are currently on a record setting run, as they have not lost a game in their last 18(!) outings and with that are on a real heater into the playoffs. Right winger @FlyerKungen has been by far the most efficient scorer of the league, but the quarterfinals against Djurgarden Hockey showed that secondary scoring is no problem and to be fair that wasn't a concern to begin with. The talking point of this series will definitely be the matchup between HAVU Gaming players @Dominointi & @FlyerKungen on Malmos side and @willekunq & @Nassustelija representing Farjestad. In the regular season matchup, Malmos offense prevailed. We should see slightly higher scoring in this series, as we have two very offensively talented teams on the ice, but it is also notable that statistically goaltending and defense hasn't been as strong as in the other semifinal series. When/where to watch? Friday, 28th of February Semifinals starting 17:00 CET at Sportbladet Saturday, 29th of February Finals starting 12:00 CET at Sportbladet Your dynamic duo of Fredrik "JAEGARNS" Andersson & Adam @esdor Ericson will cast all the action! If you're in the Stockholm area, you can also come see the action live at Inferno Online Odenplan. Who do you think will win?

  11. It was shock for me and i had no words at all. But now I want to say, it was really nice guy, with great humour and unshakable love of life. My goaltendijg story started only because of Sami, i played nowhere in europe, but he trusted me and we played some seasons together... He was always dont mind about names and status, Sami always looked at you as an equal, so it’s not surprising how many great players (and incredible persons) were on his team. Sami was a brave guy in all ways in his life, job, family, nhl, great fkn attitude. Good bye my speedy brother, I love you

  17. NHLGamers, We have received the devastating news that a beloved member of the community - Sami @Ampuhaukka Luoma passed away at the young age of 41 this past Friday. Sami was a family man and a long-time community member, who enjoyed spending his pastime playing the NHL series in good company. Over the years several of us had the privilege to play alongside this man and he touched many of our lives in one way or another. To honor Sami's memory, some of his past teammates and friends have shared some of their memories below: - @Tzon93 - @l-Furyan-l - @Lamsa A word from @Kenu on behalf of NHLGamer: I would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Sami in this tragic loss. I was in touch with Sami in early January and he spoke about his plans to build a team together with @pelimies80 and he had some questions around the upcoming season. It's hard to accept that that discussion was the last chance I got to talk to him. I didn't know Sami well, but I did talk a lot of ECL with him throughout the years and also remember trying out for his team back in the day. He was always polite, positive and fun to talk to and I he will be missed. During his career of 227 games as a right defenseman in the ECL Sami racked up 26 goals and 125 assists, totalling 151 points. Aside from the the ECL, he was also active in a lot of our other leagues. You can see his full career stats below. The staff at NHLGamer extends our heartfelt condolences to everyone touched by Sami during his lifetime. Please also share your memory in the comment section if you wish to do so.

  20. Remember playing against Ampuhaukka a lot, there was a time when it felt like our clubs met at least once every week, good battles were rolling down the left meant you were going to get hit - always a fan of his playing style. Sometimes we played game or two together in the same team, always supportive when my good old stone hands failed to bring desired results. Even shared ECL team for a brief time back in the day. Sad news, really sad. All the best to the family and friends, Rip Ampuhaukka

About NHLGamer NHLGamer.com first saw the light of day over a decade ago, somewhere around 2004. What started as a website platform for friends to arrange NHL leagues against each other has since grown exponentially into what is today the largest community for NHL gamers in Europe. In late 2015, NHLGamer launched a new platform for a larger audience by introducing the first-ever European Championship League (ECL) - a league where all the best European NHL gamers create teams and compete against each other in the game mode EASHL (6vs6) for the title of Best EASHL Team in Europe. We took another big step forward by launching the NACL and welcoming North American teams into a league hosted on our site. This launch was also a monumental step in bringing together all the best NHL gamers on one platform. Our new found venture into the North American NHL gaming scene is looking to follow in the footsteps of what we have done with the ECL. While proud of our achievements and the success we've had in creating and maintaining such a great community of talented gamers, we are not done yet. Our long-term goals include growing the community, hosting larger leagues with larger prize pools and working together with organizations at the cutting edge of gaming and esports. Remember to stay up to speed with all our leagues by following our Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. You can find our broadcasts on our Twitch channel.
