In my opinion saying that it takes too long for new teams to get to Elite from, say the new "Semi-Pro", is a weak argument. Why should we give new teams to do so much less work to earn a spot with the best? We should put some value on those teams who have been together for long periods of time and working their asses off to get there. If you want to start a new team, you should not get everything on a golden platter. I would be okay if I'd form a new team, to start from the lowest division of the possible 4. And for individuals, everyone should recognize the hard work there too. If you got the skills and the eye for the game, good teams and good captains will notice. Just work your butt off to get a spot for a tryout and show what you got. Somebody said earlier in the thread: " Nothing worth having comes easy". Look at HAVU, Flyerkungen has bust his balls off to make that dream come true, it did not come in a matter of couple of months. And I am pretty sure that last year when Eki won it all, he put in the work there.13 points

My opinions: ECL Elite: 16 teams ECL Pro: 16 teams ECL ''Semi Pro'': 32 teams or more ECL Lite: Rest 3 ECL tournaments per NHL If 4 divisions system happens in future, I want to see only 16 teams in Pro. That would of course give much more tight matchups than it does now and it could develop those teams more who gets promoted to Elite.9 points

Like i said before. Vesa Pompa is not a good example for you guys. First of all, they didn`t even raise to PRO on their first season. At their first season in ECL Lite they played with team name Lehmannen Badboyz and managed to gain 19 points in 16 games. Second season they gained 36 points in 26 games. Is this the team that should have start in Elite or what? They have got better during this time, but when they started... they were not clearly better than some Lite teams. In fact my team played both of those seasons in same group with those guys and during that time my team gained more points. Just because some team has Elite level player or two does not mean that the team is Elite level. Can i ask, how would you evaluate who should start in Lite/Pro/Elite? E: and if the problem is that there is too many good players playing at lower levels, shouldnt we talk about taking more teams to Pro and Elite?6 points

This is it - the organizing. And to answer your real question; there should be time for that! I know that the people who run this shit (Kenu & friends) are not doing this for big money or anything like that, but NHL19 was pretty succesful what it comes to possibility to play competitive hockey in NHLGamer. However, we haven't seen any ECL hockey since March and that fucking sucks. For me this has always been a problem: the last big tourney of an NHL game ends around March, and the next major level tournament starts six months later in late October, and then we have six months (with breaks included) to play those two tournaments. This is not KHL. If there's never going to be three ECL's which some people want here - we should keep these two current main leagues far away from each other. What I'm saying is that if we start the first ECL in October, the next ECL after that should definitely start in the next March - not end there. Like, how about if we keep those blahblah (Spring League.. never again pls) and these native (FCL, SCL) tourneys between these two major tourneys, or/and during the summer. Spring League -> Summer League and if/when the Summer Cup has to be there too, keep that shit shorter instead of important leagues. For me atleast it would be cool as hell to start and end the NHL gaming year with ECL. Also maybe that's how the gamers would stay more motivated during the long year. For an example, even though your team do shit in the first ECL and then in the native tourney you do little bit better but still fail, you still have the third shot in the Spring time ECL. Oops, little offtopic but I got nothing better to do so whatever...6 points

I dont understand why the "easy way to the top" is the main subject here right now. Like, no one has said that the "new teams" should get promoted asap. They still need to win games and qualify from Pro to Elite. All I'm saying is like @iSvamp said, requiring like over one year to compete in the highest level, is just nonsense when we are talking about as small scene as we have in our hands. How about the opinions on the actual matter of subject? Four divisions or three, and how many seasons per year if there would be four. After all I like the current system but it won't hurt to fix it as it needs to be fixed at some point, as the current system was builded like four years ago when NHLGamer had under 80 teams playing ECL. And how many we have right now? Exactly... A lot more than that.6 points

I don't really care about amount of ECL Divisions, but the wise amount of ECL tournaments per NHL depends so much how many other Leagues Mr @Kenu is going to host in NHL 20. Ofc as many as possible, but I am still that type of player who wants to participate to every money tournament out there & playing ECL/FCL/SCL tournaments at the same time is not an option, imo. Those tournaments needs their own value & LAN events. At least 2x ECL Elite, FCL, SCL, IS Cup (?), any possible new Leagues with prizes? With good organizing, three ECL tourneys is possible for sure, but the real question is, is there really time for that in NHL 20? I don't have any inside news about amount of the different Leagues in NHL 20, but from what I've heard, NHLGamer is going to keep us as active as possible in future. 😎4 points

Exactly. Main point is number of divisions... Last season there were about 80 teams just in Lite. So size of Lite is about the same than what was whole ECL when community decided to split it in three divisions. 80-100 teams division makes no sense...at least not at its current form. I have seen 0 good speach of why there should be just 3 divisions. If we want that Elite dudes can join straight to Pro or Elite with new club, we can do so no matter is there four or even five divisions.4 points

4 divisions imo, there is just too many teams in lite atm and because of that the top teams are way much better than the bottom teams and thats one reason why so many team loses their motivation and might quit before the season ends. And there will be just more and more teams in future so 4 divisions would solve this issue for now atleast 👍4 points

NHL20 and ECL9 are coming closer quickly so let's get this thing up. Cheers Hockey (PRO) are looking for a one Defender (LD/RD) to get our roster ready for the new NHL and upcoming season(s). Our roster at the moment is 2 Goalies, 2 Defenders and 4 Forwards so otherwise we are ready! What we are looking from Defender: Finnish Nationality required. We are all finnish so we feel like it's best solution for communication and connection etc. It's a big plus if you can play both 'hands' and LD/RD, that gives us more chances and opportunities in roster rotation. We hope you have previous experience from Pro and/or Elite, but we will look for 'rising stars' players aswell! What we as a team can offer to you: We are still quite a new team (since December 2018), and in our first ECL season we played ourselves to ECL8 Lite's TOP 4, and that gave us promotion to Pro. We have still lot of potential out there to prove our game, even tho we developed a lot as a team in a short time. Teamplay is our biggest strenght, that's why it's easy to jump in to our team and strategies! Results from Spring League and practise games showed that we are ready to play in Pro and our only goal is to play for Pro's top spots right in the first season. So, if you want to wear these hot Orange & Black colours and be a part of team that is ready to play and fight for Pro's top spot and aims for Elite in the future, this is your chance! If interested, you can contact me here or PSN: @Borjendahlen2 points

I don't see the problem, why is it required to reach the top division in one NHL game if you start out in the lowest division? If you play the game for fun, then you play with your friends no matter which division you're in. If you play the game to reach the top, either fight for a spot in a team already at the top or get into a lower division team and prove that you are worth it. If you want to see YOUR team reach the top, start from the lowest division and build the best team you can of players that will accept to play in lower divisions. This is a challenge as it should be, nothing worth having comes easy. Edit: Since I'm ECL Staff, I'd like to point out that this is my personal opinion.2 points

There was some talk of this topic at the end of last year. I and many others think that there is too many teams in ECL for just 3 divisions. Huge number of Lite teams causes too short regular season and too long play-offs. And not to forget huge cap on skill level as well. I personally think that NHL Gamer should not waste any more time on this decision. It should be made before ECL9. Time is short. Please be fast to share your opinion on this case and also remember to vote. I think there should be 4 divisions ECL ELITE (16 teams) ECL PRO (32 teams) ECL SEMI PRO (32 teams) ECL LITE (rest of the teams)1 point

Why is that a problem? If your statement is true (I'm not so sure about that), the top lite teams and the top pro level teams would end up in the same division for the next tournament. Sounds pretty good to me. As one of the original Divisions creators, assuming the main goal is to shrink Lite in size, I have a different suggestion: Increase ECL Pro to 48 teams and keep the existing structure.1 point

Read Jesus answer. It's not legit to wait for 18-24 months to even be able to play in the highest division if you admins want to call this an eSport. Nuff said1 point
