  3. BiggestEight - Free Agent (FA) ECL Hidden Gems is a concept that was created by @The_Alpha_Furyan and @pnordetun (patovic). The idea evolved out of discussions concerning what type of content patovic himself would like to see more of at NHLGamer.com and what kind of texts he'd be most interested in writing. Hidden Gems, for the purposes of this feature, means players that the author feels haven't quite gotten their time to shine at NHLGamer or players that aren't getting full credit for the skill they bring to the table. This is the third edition in a six-part series that patovic has written so do enjoy the witty writing of "pato" and leave a comment with your thoughts on the piece. Alex Ovechkin, Teemu Selänne, BiggestEight… There’s a number of "big eights” in the hockey world but virtually, we’re talking about the best one right here today. The gamer we’ll be taking a look at for the third edition of Hidden Gems is BiggestEight, aka @selänne8. The great BiggestEight really caught fire and put his name up on the boards during his two seasons with HC Checkmate in ECL 3 and 4, scoring an amazing total of 81 and 96 points respectively. ECL 5 saw him repeat a nice point-total of 76 points, albeit now representing Baltic Sea Eagles. At this point, I think it’s safe to say that he is living up to the name that his PSN-ID is suggestive of. In the group stage of ECL 4 Pro he finished 2nd in points behind Tapparafan - and was 1st in goals, GWG and shots on goal with a full 49 shots (!) more than the next player. This is surely a feat that isn’t all too far-fetched for the real-life counterpart of Alexander the Great either. In the all-time leaderboard BiggestEight can be found at 5th in points and 3rd in goals with only PleeMaker and Joukki pacing him in the goals-column. Always dangerous in the offensive zone and especially from his office at the left faceoff circle from where he lets the one-timers rip. Word on the street is that he lives by the motto: “the top corner is always open.” BiggestEight has yet to succeeded come playoff time, though. The reason could obviously be the high level of competitiveness at the tournaments hosted here at NHLGamer but BiggestEight has yet to make it past the first round in the playoffs. Once again we find similarities between him and the real-life counterpart on the Washington Capitals. However, it appears possible that ECL 6 is the time and place where this promising offensive juggernaut could be seen sniping top-cheese deep into the playoffs. It all depends on which team is able to snag this Hidden Gem before the registrations close. In the end, maybe it’s just a matter of trying a new stick manufacturer or applying a different tapejob to his stick - all will be revealed in ECL 6 so stay tuned for more goals from BiggestEight. 7. Somehow it just doesnt figure out with my former team because dedication is really lacking so I put back on my mask and look for offers (Pro/Elite). Very experienced 20 years old goalie (5 years and almost 500 6vs6 games this year). I am active almost every day. As its close to ECL I take a backup spot if it´s the right team too. Can also play C/RW on very high level if needed. https://nhlgamer.com/player.php?playerID=470 still looking

  8. Hi guys, Hopefully you enjoyed my recent ECL 5 Elite Season Report. If you didn't, thats cool too. I've always approached the topics I've written about here at NHLGamer with a "what would I be interested in reading"-mindset. Usually that lines up pretty well with what y'all are interested in - we do share quite a particular interest in 'EASHL 6v6 gaming' - but sometimes it doesn't and that is just fine. Trying to please everyone is pretty much an impossible task, so in the end you just do your best and hope people enjoy your work. I have been writing for NHLGamer for about 18 months (this was my first feature) which actually doesn't sound like a lot, but to me it feels like it has been quite some time. Now, if you feel like this is starting to sound like an eulogy - that is not my intent. I am not dying nor am I giving up writing for NHLGamer com. What I will say is that you probably won't see any major stories or features like the Elite Season Report on NHLGamer from me for a while... To most of you, a statement like that probably doesn't matter. Again, completely understandable. From the perspective of the average NHLGamer "consumer" - as long as the light stays on and new stories containing the proper information is released, all is good. It makes sense. However, I'd like to think that some of you out there have come to enjoy my particular approach to writing. I know I have certainly appreciated all the feedback I have received from you all during these 18 months - both public and in PM, both positive and negative. So, why am I opening up to tell you all of this? Well, the reason I won't have as much time to dedicate towards writing about virtual hockey is that I am trying my hand at writing about actual hockey. About two months ago, I quit my regular 9 to 5-job to start my own business and try to make it as a hockey writer. To be honest, making that leap scared the living shit out of me and every day since I made the decision has been a solid mixture of "what the hell am I doing" and "this might actually work". We'll have to wait and see which side of that particular coin ends up on top. I got to be honest though, writing "for" you guys here at NHLGamer and listening to all of your feedback is what inspired me to believe I was capable of making this journey and I will always be thankful for that. For that reason, I would really love it if I could have you join me on this thing I am attempting - to have you keep reading the stuff I am writing. Should you find the material interesting of course, that is! In my current situation - every Twitter follow, re-tweet or direct click on a particular story is huge. Every uplifting word or constructive criticism on something I wrote, a valuable lesson! Anyway, enough talking, here's where you'll find me: Twitter [regular updates on any stories I write as they are released]: @TheAlphaFuryan Eliteprospects.com [14 articles so far, here are three of them - in English]: http://www.eliteprospects.com/article.php?id=35 http://www.eliteprospects.com/article.php?id=149 http://www.eliteprospects.com/article.php?id=163 NHL.com/sv [2 articles so far, more to come in the following month - in Swedish] https://www.nhl.com/sv/news/capitals-nodvandiga-forlust/c-294314572 Pro Hockey Magazine [5 WJC stories in December edition, 2 feature length NHL stories in January edition - in Swedish] https://scontent-arn2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/25550576_10155704240985781_1918622112284507151_n.png?oh=c416d8ef8a50c4dd26e04933cc7bef09&oe=5AC90379 SHL.se/eshl [regular articles and videos about NHL 18, HUT and SHL - in Swedish] http://www.shl.se/eshl If you've made it all the way down this lengthy post, I'd like to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read it. 15. Hi! 26 year old swede here who's searching for a team to play competitive hockey with and at the same time have an awesome time! Back in the day I used to play Xbox (Gamertag: Spousaljake) and NHL on a quite regular basis, playing with some really good players and of course 6vs6-hockey. You could therefore say that I'm used to the 6vs6-style of play since I have alot of playing hours with that format. Right now I just want to get back into 6vs6-bubble, getting familiar with the high tempo and play against the top players. I would say that I could play at every position except goaltender. C and RD would be my preferred position. Even though, as I claimed earlier, I'm very allround as a player. Formalities: - Live in Sweden (CET +1) - Can play almost every night - Wears headset (Discord, WhatsApp ex) Playing style: - A playmaker. Likes to keep things simple. Defensively sound. Deadline is coming up. I'm interested in a tryout! My Gamercard: https://nhlgamer.com/player.php?playerID=2240 I know I can play. Give me a chance! PSN: BeastBenn14 /Fredrik

  18. Shameful Knights is looking for a defender or an all around player for ECL 6 (ECL Pro)! Our RD is currently getting some high tier military training, so it's time we add another strong knight to our round table. We are primarily looking for an RD/LD, but if you are able to uphold a consistent good level of play on any position we will certainly see that as a huge plus. Requirements: -Be active. We try to play everyday to have and keep our team play in it's peak -Previous ECL experience is necessary! -You need to own a mic because communication on the ice is the key to success. We also have a WhatsApp chat where we handle all the general things such as when to play and who plays etc. -You're able to give quick passes which help forward our game - You have a good game sense that allows you to make quick and safe decisions but also lets you get creative when needed. (We are not looking for a robot like player) Contact on PSN for a tryout: Wirtsuuu, Ollizhki or Migo_boo99. (Or anyone you know from our team :D)
