RAGING MONKEYS vs EV DUISBURG 4 - 2 (3-2, 1-2, 2-4, 7-1, 5-2, 7-2) Raging Monkeys keep going strong in ECL and advanced after 4-2 in matches against EV Duisburg. ALMOST FAMOUS vs SQUAD VILTTIKETJU 4 - 0 (4-0, 8-0, 3-2OT, 3-2) Almost Famous stood as a winner after 4-0 in matches over Squad Vilttiketju, Almost Famous have had a great season so far. RED MACHINE vs FACE WASH HOCKEY 4 - 0 (1-0, 2-0, 1-0, N/A, N/A) Red Machine won their quarter-final series with 4-1 in matches over Face Wash Hockey. Here are the four teams that moved on and qualified for ECL - Pro next season: Nordic Nosebleed Almost Famous Raging Monkeys Red Machine We congratulate these four teams for advancing to ECL - Pro! 6. Well...I don't speak often but sometimes it's unbearable. Let me give you a fitting example. I played with Inter Iceland in the second round of the Pro Playoffs. We could not get our "main formation" set for three of the total six games played in this series. Actually two positions were filled with players who were not a part of the regular season whatsoever. - Did we try to prolong the affected games? No - Did we ask to play another time after starting off with two straight losses? No - was it the reason we lost the series? Probably not Of course this series does not get anywhere near the attention that Elite-Series get. But the rules are the same for Elite, Pro and Lite, aren't they? This is not supposed to be an offending reply. I just think that if you have the chance as a GM to get six players of your team to play, even when it's playoffs and not your best of six ... well just do it. Give some other Player on your team a chance. Winning isn't everything but wanting to win is

  7. Okey. SO, When did you had an important role in an elite-team the last time? I can understand that you guys don't know this Lainville-dude. But that's just because he already had 3 titles before you even started to play. So to say, it's pretty fun when you "superstars" continues with all this "who are you-thing". AND, the answer to your question - He's fucking yoda, and I'm his paddaaawaan. He's the reason why I'm retarded.

  10. Written In The Stars / Elite All-arounder: We are looking for player/players who owns experience from Elite. At least you need to handle LD/RD, but if you can play also LW, C or RW, it's only a PLUS!! Goalie: We are looking for Elite Goalie too. JANURI98 is coming back from Army, but in this situation, we wan't two goalies and fresh battle between them! There is no free tickets or sauna contracts incoming. We don't need to hurry so we prefer TRYOUTs, ofc. Interested? Contact me everywhere you want! Peace & Papayas

  13. Is it? It's christmas and most people haven't made it past prestige 1, trying to search for games during "peak hours" still leaves you searching for ages. This year is giving me NHL 15 flashbacks. Not to mention that i dont remember a team going into the playoffs being as heavy favorites as Aapon was this year.

  14. Found our goalie, but we may be in need of a LW or a LD. A plus if you can play both positions. You have to speak swedish, be a teamplayer and atleast 20 years old.

F: Yes J: Okay, well in that case I'm sentencing you to two years imprisonment for being useless. F: Ohhhh myyyyy godddddddddddd you dumb Judge.... why didn't you ask me this question? I would've told you this information that could've changed your outlook on this situation. J: Are you kidding me? F: No, stop being incompetent and do your job J: ???????????

  21. NHLGamers, In the case that occured between SJK eSports and Written in the Stars in the ECL Elite semi-finals, the following outcome has been agreed on: No extra time will be given. Before the ECL 5 Playoffs, the Staff took heavy criticism for lack of clarity in terms of deadlines. Not only in ECL 5, but in previous ECLs as well. Since the beginning of the ECL 5 playoffs, extra effort has been made to improve the clarity of that information. Therefore, the statement "Each pairing, Elite or Pro, must be finished within 7 days from today, meaning last evening to play games is December xxth. Don't expect any extensions!" has been included whenever possible (including in all Elite playoff news communication). Furthermore, a notification above the chatbox with the exact information of the last day to play has been visible for the past two rounds. We have not seen any valid arguments as to why extra time should be given. Precedent Precedent is a legal term that is defined as "an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances.". In the ECL 5 Playoffs, there is a precedent for this type of case. In the Pro playoff matchup between Gotham Knights and J P T J, Gotham was awarded 2 WO wins due to J P T J not being able to produce a lineup on the assigned day. Ruling to give extra time in this case would suggest that teams are not equal and that the rules do not have the same meaning to all teams. This is not true for the ECL. Both Captains were lacking in communication The fact that LA received this information on the day of the last scheduled playoff date is the reason for this verdict taking so long. Always remember, if you are experiencing trouble scheduling games, getting in touch with LA as early as possible is not only encouraged - it is also expected as these decisions need to be discussed thoroughly before deciding. Availability This is LAs understanding of the availability of both teams: Wednesday: SJK available, SKY unavailable Thursday: SJK available, SKY unavailable Friday: SJK available, SKY unavailable Saturday: SJK available, SKY unavailable Sunday: SJK unavailable, SKY available Monday: SJK available, SKY available - 4 games played Tuesday: SJK available, SKY available - but at different times and could not come to an agreement on starting time This gives a total of SJK available on 6/7 days and SKY available on 3/7 days for the round. If we look at traditionally scheduled game days (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) SJK was available on 3/3 days and SKY on 1/3 days. The LAs understanding of availability is based on official communication from both teams with regards to this case. In the case of SKY, their extended unavailability is also understood to be due to one of their preferred forwards (Bugimir) being away on vacation until Sunday the 3rd of December - information that was communicated to LA at an earlier point when SKY appealed for more time to play their games in the previous round versus Dynasty. Furthermore, FlyerKungen's (SKY captain) very public comments on a previous news story gave the clear impression that SKY were not interested in playing any playoff games without their top 6 lineup and that leniency in the form of extra days should be given to ensure the integrity of the league. In this context the 8-player roster limit, that has been part of the ECL rules since the first season, was questioned as well. LA argues that the integrity of the league is ensured by teams following the deadlines that have been communicated with the utmost clarity throughout the entire playoffs. A key aspect to meeting these deadlines is keeping a healthy roster size, which the vast majority of teams in all divisions have been working on. Running a 6-player core roster accompanied by two "dummy" players turned out to be the main dealbreaker in this case. RULING SJK is awarded 2 WO wins and moves on to the ECL Elite finals. The decision rests heavily on the amount of days both teams were available as that is the only valid parameter this case could possibly be ruled on - once the option of "extra time" was precluded. CONCLUSIONS Walkover wins in the playoffs are never a good thing, no matter what round or division. However, having a League Administration that sticks to rules and announcements and treats all of the teams equally builds trust in the platform. While things still weren't perfect throughout ECL 5, we are adjusting parameters every season to eradicate the remaining hiccups. This means we will need to ask you some questions before the start of ECL 6: Is the 8-player limit a well-deemed rule? Are 7 days enough to complete possibly 7 games in a single playoff round? Do we need to take an entirely different approach to scheduling and enforcing deadlines? An additional post announcing the Elite finals will be released, but finalists Aapon Taikasauva and SJK can start scheduling their games. League Administration

  22. Hey NHLGamers, in case you missed the news, the outcome of the SJK eSports vs. Written in the Stars semi-final was decided by League Administration after the series wasn't finished in time. See the full explanation here: In the other semi-final matchup, Aapon Taikasauva and Northern Stars fought a fierce battle that ended with game 7, in favor of Aapon Taikasauva. For your reading pleasure, here's the official round summary: SJK eSports |4:2| Written in the Stars Aapon Taikasauva |4:3| Northern Stars ECL ELITE FINALS Aapon Taikasauva (1) vs. SJK eSports (3) FINALS FRAMEWORK The finals must be finished within 7 days starting today, thus the last day to play the games is December 12. The finals are to be played in a best-of-7 series, with Aapon Taikasauva starting at home first. Currently, the finals are expected to kick off tomorrow, December 7. Once we know more, we will update you with the exact times as well as information about available live streams. NHLGamer Staff wishes the best luck to both teams! @gzell60 for NHLGamer.com

  24. Finally this year NHL-version have real challenge to every team and nobody can't win for example Elite Division "easy" like early years. Earlier I remember the tough games start in the Finals and there is only 2-3 teams who play very active and this same teams of course battle the championship only. Now finally situation is different and differences between the best teams are very little or there is no real difference and good or bad luck can make the difference who win and who lose. Now this is competitive gaming and here is big challenge to everyone.

  39. Oh well, ggs. I will start by saying that this wasn't in any way Flyerkungen's fault. Guy's getting all the shit thrown at him even though he was busting his ass off trying to get the games played. Did all he could and does not deserve any of this shit. (Martindale, eat shit) I arrived from my infamous trip to Miami on Saturday/Sunday night(was great!) and we were ready to play from Sunday onwards. Btw Johtajavirtanen took my spot on LW against Dynasty. So we missed two potential gamedays in semi-finals first week(Wednesday/Thursday) because come on, no one plays on weekends. TWO DAYS. Then we were available on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. At this point unfortunate scheduling things got into play as SJK:s goalies couldn't play before 22cet on couple nights and we had some workshift problems aswell. Everything was negotiated peacefully and both teams had zero problem on agreeing to play today. I understand that it is over the deadline and a punishable action on some situations. But seriously. In ECL semi-finals, when both teams have no problem with the situation and have ABSOLUTELY no desire for walkovers. This was clearly LA:s attempt to brush their soft imago, which is understandable and NEEDED to get people respect the rules. But in my personal opinion this was not the right circumstance to make that move. Yeah, I can take the blame on myself for missing 2 gamedays while sipping pina coladas. I thought we had appropriate amount of time left to finish the series which was 4 _potential_ gamedays. There's just always unfortunate surprises. I won't argue that this wasn't the right call according to the rulebook. I just believe that this was not the right call according to the circumstances. Good luck SJK

  41. Back-up players? HAR5KI and Januri? First is just Harski who is pure fill player on your roster and Januri is in the army. Cut the bullshit and stop blaming others for your issues. JohtajaVirtanen played in playoffs but sometimes you need more than one guy, or more than 6 players, to play this god damn game. Get real boys.

  42. Good decision. There is rules what need to follow. If LA don't follow the rules why someone is writing the rules then?
    1 point
  43. This probaly wasn't easy call to make and it's never fun handing walkovers in the playoff stage, but I think it had to be done to ensure teams will stick to schedules in the future.
