  2. NHLGamers, The IS Cup has become a tradition and with us stepping into uncharted territory and ramping it up on the 6vs6-side last year, we're now bringing the same, improved concept for the 4th iteration of one of the biggest NHL esports tournaments of the year. IS Cup 4 is presented by NHLGamer and Ilta-Sanomat, sponsored by PlayStation, Prisma Gaming and Alpro. Originally a Finnish tournament, IS Cup breaks new ground with its 4th iteration; expanding the scope of the tournament in allowing all European teams entry to challenge the Finns for the throne. In NHL19 we saw Finnish HAVU Gaming and FILADELPHIA dominate the playing field, but it'll remain to be seen if we can find some new competition this year. The 4th iteration of IS Cup will alike last year, cap off at GameXpo in Helsinki, Finland between the 15th and 16th of November. In the final event, the four best teams will meet to battle it out for a prize pool of 5000 €. Schedule of IS Cup 4: Group stage 14-20.10 Playoffs 28.10-6.11 Semi-finals & Finals @ GameXpo 15-16.11 The prize pool will be divided as follows: 1. 3500€ 2. 1000€ 3. 500€ Prizes are subject to tax as per Finnish law and the tax is withheld before payment Please note: Both the group stage phase and the playoffs will be very intensive and your team will be expected to play almost every day, so while the minimum required players amount is 7, be sure to have a roster big enough to take care of your duties. Teams that make the final four are responsible for their own travel and accommodation The semifinal games on Friday, November 15th will start during daytime Sign ups close on Friday October 11th 12:00 CEST. Gather your team and sign up to challenge last years champions FILADELPHIA! To sign up your team for IS Cup 4: If you're a player looking for a team: If you're a team looking for players: Brief in Finnish / Lyhyesti suomeksi: Ilta-Sanomat ja NHLGamer toteuttavat yhteistyössä IS Cup 4 -turnauksen, jossa etsitään parasta 6vs6-joukkuetta NHL 20 -pelissä. Turnausta sponsoroivat PlayStation, Prisma Gaming ja Alpro. Lue Ilta-Sanomien uutinen tästä. Karsintojen runkosarja pelataan 14.–20.10. ja pudotuspelit reilua viikkoa myöhemmin 28.10.–6.11. Neljä parasta joukkuetta jatkaa finaalitapahtumaan. IS Cupin nettikarsinnat järjestää NHLGamer. Nettikarsintoihin voivat osallistua kaikki halukkaat ympäri Euroopan. 5000 euron palkintopotti jaetaan seuraavasti: 3500 € 1000 € 500 € Huomioittehan ystävällisesti seuraavat asiat: Turnauksen pelitahti on intensiivinen sekä runkosarjan, että pudotuspelien osalta ja pelejä on pelattava lähes päivittäin. Vaikka turnaukseen voi osallistua seitsemän pelaajan rosterilla, varmistattehan, että ilmoittamanne joukkue pystyy pelaamaan aktiivisesti. GameXpoilla pelaavat joukkueet vastaavat itse matkustus- ja yöpymiskuluistaan Semifinaaliottelut perjantaina 15.11. alkavat päiväsaikaan Rekisteröityminen päättyy perjantaina 11.10. kello 13:00 Linkit: Ilmoita joukkueesi IS Cupiin Etsi joukkuetta itsellesi Etsi pelaajia joukkueeseesi
  3. Hi NHLGamers! We want to start by thanking all teams and players for making the hectic group stage as efficient and problem free as it has been! We've seen some great battles within each of the groups and it really was a nail-biter all the way to the last round! As the FCL was wrapped up tonight, a situation has arisen in which tiebreakers will have to be applied. The situation in question is as follows: Butterfly Effect (+43), Dynasty (+25), GHETTO FIREBIRDS (+22), Rusty Blades (+23), Symphony (+41) and TIKI TALK (+15) all finished the season with 12 games played, 9 wins, & 19 points. The numbers in the brackets denote the goal differential for each team. Per the rulebook, in the event of such a tie occurring the following tiebreaks shall be used: Unfortunately, we failed to spot that having ‘head-to-head results’ would lead to some pretty major complications due to the multi-group setup that we are running with the FCL. While it works excellently within the groups or solely involving teams that played each other, it can not be implemented in this case. As such, we have decided that as this tiebreaker is only relevant to some of the teams (GHETTO FIREBIRDS vs Symphony and TIKI TALK vs Butterfly Effect), we will have to disregard it from the tie-breaking process and move straight to goal differential instead. Once again, this error is on us for not spotting the possible discrepancy in the rules, as the tie-break procedure was drawn up to be applied in a tournament setting where there is only one group, such as ECL: Elite, or at the very least a tournament with an even number of groups and cross-seeding in the first round. Ergo, as no teams are tied regarding ‘goal differential’, Butterfly Effect will take #7, followed by #8 Symphony, #9 Dynasty, then Rusty Blades, and finally bringing up the rear of the group we have GHETTO FIREBIRDS at #11 and TIKI TALK at #12.With this out of the way then, we can now give everyone a full rundown of the seeding for the playoffs, which will be shown below. As always, we would like to extend a thanks to everyone for competing thus far, as well as wishing good luck to all of the remaining teams! The first round of playoffs is to be completed and reported by end-of-day Sunday July 21st. Playoffs are played best-of-3 - meaning two wins takes you to the next round. Dynasty (#9) vsSymphony (#8) Rusty Blades (#10) vs Butterfly Effect (#7) GHETTO FIREBIRD (#11) vsRaccoon Rampage (#6) TIKI TALK (#12) vs Almost Famous (#5) POGGERS (#13) vsHAVU Gaming (#4) HC Wildcard (#14) vs Northern Ascendancy (#3) Mockba (#15) vs SOPPAJENGI (#2) Invictus (#16) vs FILADELPHIA (#1) For future leagues/tournaments involving more groups, we believe that defining the head-to-head result being applied only within the group and adding a tie-breaker using the placement within the group (i.e. Dynasty #1 in group 4) as the third tie-breaker would help value the group standings better. Please share your opinion with us in the comments. Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs - we can't wait to see what happens next!

  5. NHLGamers, The SCL is here! As you might have suspected based on the teaser video we launched a couple weeks back, we’re now pleased to be able to bring you the Swedish Championship League! It’s been a long time coming, as the GCL and RCL have been running nicely for a couple of seasons already and the Finns have got to enjoy the eSM and IS Cup organised by us. The 6vs6 portion of SCL is targeted at ambitious Swedish teams looking to enter the competitive 6vs6-scene in their home country and play for the Swedish Championship in eHockey. The 6vs6 league is played on Playstation. As we all know, the Swedish 6’s community is highly developed and therefore we’re aiming to generate a highly competitive experience right off the bat. In order to ensure this extraordinary competitive experience, we’re partnering with Birdie, Esport United and SESF to organise a live finals event to the tournament. The prize pool for the Swedish Championships in 6vs6 will be 50 000 SEK. On top of launching the 6vs6 SCL, we would also like to announce that we are hosting a the Swedish Championships in 1vs1 as well! The 1vs1 will be played in the Versus mode. This event will include an online qualifier out of which the top 16 will make their way to the finals! Both Playstation 4 and Xbox One players will be welcome to participate. The prize pool for the Swedish Championships in 1vs1 will be 15 000 SEK. More info on the schedule and signups for 1vs1 will be released soon. The live finals will take place between the 30th of May and the 1st of June at Birdie LAN in Uppsala, Sweden and will consist of semifinals and the grand final. The action will be live broadcasted over at our Twitch channel as usual, but we highly recommend for all of you to attend the event and wish to meet you there! Eligibility All Swedish citizens are eligible to participate in the SCL. On top of this, all teams are allowed to contain a maximum of three foreign players, out of which one at a time is allowed to be on the playing line-up. However, Norwegian and Danish players are granted exceptional status and will only count towards the foreign player limit as halves - meaning two Norwegian/Danish players can participate on the same team. (Specifications will be published in the rulebook coming next week, see image below for demonstration). Only Swedish citizens are eligible for team captaincy. Swedish and Finnish players are required to have player licenses of their respective countries (valid in all SESF/SEUL tournaments for 2019), we also recommend participants of other nationalities to acquire a player license from their country. Swedish license (free): https://www.sesf.se/licenser Finnish license (5 EUR): http://www.esm.gg/pelaajalisenssi/ SIGN UP FOR SCL SEASON 1 NOW! The first season of the SCL (6vs6) will be kicking off on Tuesday, 16th of April and signups are now open. Click here to sign your team up! Signups will close on Saturday, the 13th of April at 23:59 CEST. A more accurate schedule for the live finals will be released soon, but keep your eyes open for announcements at our site and our social media channels. More information for participating players will also be communicated as the registration deadline closes in on us. About us Since its inception, NHLGamer has continuously strived to offer the best possible experience for any and all gamers who have come to enjoy the competitiveness of playing the EA Sports series of NHL games. We made our biggest stride forward yet when we in late 2015 introduced the first ever European Championship League (ECL) - a league where all the best European NHL gamers create teams and compete against each other in the game mode EASHL (6vs6) for the title of Best EASHL Team in Europe. While proud of our achievements and the success we've had in creating and maintaining such a great community of talented gamers, we are not done yet. Our long-term goals include growing the community, hosting larger leagues with prize pools and working together with organizations at the cutting edge of gaming and esports. About our partners Birdie is the oldest LAN in Sweden, as it’s been organised in Uppsala, just outside Stockholm ever since 1993. In 2019, Birdie is being organised for the 29th time between may 30th and June 1st. Esport United was founded somewhere around 2005 with the objective of developing the esports scene and gathering esports talent all at one place. ESU also drives hard to develop female esports. SESF stands for Svenska E-sportföreningen and they are the governing body of esports competition in Sweden at the moment. The objective of the organisation is to develop the Swedish esports scene and shows a constant presence in organising tournaments and events. Currently, SESF provides training for esports referees and licenses for both referees and players. In Swedish esports competition, a SESF license is a quality guarantee. What are you waiting for? Sign up now and enjoy the biggest and best NHL 6vs6 experience in Sweden with the chance of winning some great cash prizes! We sincerely hope to see as many of you there as possible!
