    This is incorrect.

There is a game report (WO) missing in the system, resulting in RAKETTIPUTKET only having 17 GP in the standings. In reality, they got an additional 2 points and ended up as the #3 in the group and was then seeded #12 to the playoffs, facing sead #21. Nordic Eagles, finishing #4 in the group, was seeded as team #16 in the playoffs - that is correct.

Aah, didn't know that! Thank you for making that clear! :)

  2. Here's a clear problem with the current system. Look at Group 5 in LITE.

Nordic Eagles finished #3 in the group – Seeded #16 to the playoff – They faced seed #17 in the first flayoff game.
RAKETTIPUTKET finished #4 in the group – Seeded #11 to the playoffs – They faced seed #22 in the first flayoff game.

EDIT: I didn't know about the missing game report. This was clearly not the case.

  3. We've had some discussions in our team regarding the seeding system to the ECL playoffs. I just want to share our thoughts and hopefully start an interesting discussion. :)

I'll keep it as short as I possibly can..

    Problem
The seeding system to the playoffs is based only on P/G (Points per game). Where you end up in the group doesn't matter at all.

    Suggestion
Teams should be seeded by group placement first and secondly by P/G.

    Example
LITE has 5 groups. The top teams in each group should be seeded 1-5, decided by P/G. The #2 in each group should be seeded 6-10, decided by P/G and so on...

I cant come up with a single good reason why the RD would press the pokecheck button in that situation :l

That's what you took from the video? :P
Well, the first one makes the attacker loose the puck, the second one is probably just a double tap on the controller (I guess).

  5. So... this happened yesterday in the game FR - LaS. Is this the weirdest goal so far in NHL 17? You'll be the judge!

No offence to Finnish Roosters. You played really good, but I can't imagine this goal was something you've been pracitcing? ;)

    Peace!

  6. I still stand by my next comment that it's too late to make up a new division system and that we should just start a new season asap with the old system.

BUT to give some feedback on your thoughts I would like to continue on your thoughts, Billy44205.

In your original post you covered how to divide teams into different divisions. But I would like to take one step back and ask; how should the system look and work?
I'm not against a division system but I think that there are some flaws that needs to be covered. My major isue is that teams in lower divisions won't get as inspired to play as they were before. Many "lower" teams will simply end up stop playing.

Therefore, I think that IF we decide to implement a division system it would be best to divide it into ONE top division (division 1) and SEVERAL second divisions (division 2.1 2.2 2.3 and so on). This will make the top teams compete against each other as some of you guys want AND it will prevent "lower teams" to be placed at the bottom of a multi-divisioned system and loose the inspiration and will to play.

How many teams from each division that are moved up/down after each season is a later issue though.

  7. It's an interesting discussion but the thing is that it is the completely wrong time to have this discussion.

We just ended a season and are heading into the next one. If we are going to make up a new group system we will have a huuuge wait before we can start and nobody wants that.

Just start a new season asap with the same old group system and take this discussion during that season and perhaps we will change after that!
