  1. I think the major factor here (atleast from my point of view) is:

    This information comes 15Nov22

    - relatively late taking into consideration sign-ups to atleast quals opened day before, 14Nov22

    - late also thinking about the start date of lite/pro quals

If you know the topic is going ”bomb-drop”, drop the bomb wayyyyy earlier.
Like I said before, I really understand you Kenu.
But in hindsight, if you drop the bomb same week you have sign-ups, it’s late, big time.

Personally, I really don`t care about the money factor, it doesn`t play any role for me. I say again, few beers cost.
Especially when you opened up things and said lower divs fees doesn`t go to Elite`s prize pool.

But in real life in this community, there are many players from different backrounds.
Eg teen young guns with no income, raised by single parent without a job. Totally different story.
For him/her 45€ can be impossible to collect with this time-line, for real.

Had SportGamer put this info on August or September, there would have been debates and discussions also, but people had adapted, atleast I think so. And admins would had time to make possible changes in good time before sign-ups etc.

When information comes waaaay late, explanation cannot be ”we were on hurry”. You didn`t say that, but the time-line shows you were.

  2. Diizzylicious…

    yeah maybe.
At the same time (not related to that what I wrote) 45€ is 45€. You drink 5 beers in some of Helsinki Centrum`s  nightclub`s, and 45€ Is gone.

But now when I`m thinking, the problem what I see is what was written earlier. Core and Lite collects the money, but the prizepools in those respective divisions are much smaller compared to Pro and Elite.
So that is for me bit unfair.
It doesn’t go like that in real world leagues either. Division 3 and 4 are not paying Top-leagues salary.

  3. I don`t have the time to play atm bc of work related stuff, have been pretty much on a brake for more than 6 months.

I don`t agree with neo nor core fees. Guys are playing for fun and/or are new to the scene, not necessarily competitive mindset at all. Same goes 30-50% of lite teams. So…

But at the same time I think:

There is no free lunch in the table.
    - Servers cost money, maintenance cost money, platform develepment…everything costs money. Hours Kenu has put in this for free of charge is mindblowing.
    So I more than understand.

We have enjoyed ECL for no cost, same goes to NHLGamer/Sportsgamer for years, but there are people who has done the work behind the scenes.
So everyone is ofc free to try to do the same and put only the hours in. How many of members are actually ready to do that?

I`d guess Kenu has done thousands of hours to ours behalf. And ofc all the volunteers also. And no, I`m not one of them, don`t have the time to put effort in it.

  4. 1 tunti sitten, Kenu kirjoitti:

I agree with your thoughts here, but I believe this is possible with both options 1 & 2.

Yeah, I don’t totally disagree with you.

But if the situation is like one Elite guy, one Pro, and rest of the team is lite, it can go ”wrong”. If the Elite guy is pissed about it, he/she may play only the mandatory 4 games.

Of course, if the team is full of Elite, rest of the gang is playing the mandatory 4games.

    Potato, ”Poteto”..😂

  5. 2

    I’m not Elite.

But I see this as an opportunity to learn something from Elite players. So if you have couple of those in your team, you might, just might learn about it.

That’s not the point if you are picked with bunch of f.ex real life friends, who are not knowing community at all.

But either way, going to participate

    1. Same old. Tested it, but not my favourite.

    5. Regular passes to short distance are better than last year. Longer distance passes don`t correlate with the time you are pressing the R2. Saucer worked.  Half of the goals were bounces, from own player (bad pick-up animations) or just randoms.

    9. All the ”bigger D-man classes” were not as good. Twd was slow, bad agility even at the smallest build. Changing that to puck moving D did not change that much. Checking/hitting is difficult as a Dman. Going closer to opponent with a left stick and making the hit from the side often does not work, player hits bords. You had to be really precise with the hitting, and when you managed to hit, it did not necessarily lead to anything. Opponent just bumped and continued.   Poke was ok, but it is annoying when you hit the puck with a good poke and the puck bounces back to same opponent. In some positions you could also poke from behind, which sucks. More than half of the times one-timer did not work instantly. Also pass interception animations were a bit weard. F. Ex Since when you actually cut off a pass, when your back is towards the puck? Overall the gameplay felt like ”mailaviidakko”. Players I tried felt a bit clumsy. Now I think if you cover your goal front with your players, there is non pass coming through, at all. So if you just wait and be passive, no more nice one-timers. Vice versa, Good thing is no more L2 + X.
    10. I couldn’t care less.

    16. Hitting (Collision Physics), somehow easier than in 6vs6 with no AI.
    17. Pokechecking pretty much same as in 6vs6
    18. Shooting, pretty much same as in 6vs6
    19. Offensive Play (i.e. how did it feel to play offense? How easy was it? Was there a skill gap? Were there limitations?) N/A
    20. Defensive Play (i.e. how did it feel to play defense? How easy was it? Was there a skill gap? Were there limitations?) N/A, regarding eashl, read para 9 and 23.

    22. The new presentation and scoreboard (if you're having problems with it, let us know if you did the configuration properly when starting the beta for the first time) scoreboard location...and it`s blinking.....bad.
    23. Other (anything not covered here) liked beta 19 much more than this. I’m not Elite-level, but not X- or poke spammer either. Somehow it felt useless as a D-man to try to be active in own end with hitting and stuff. Passive Area defence seemed to be better alternative. And It felt partly like you are basically ”trying to run with your rubberboots on”.

  6. Alex. I love the fact you are so in to this. I really do.

But for god sake dude..😄..play division clubs, train in the versus...I`ll bet there is plenty of clubs which could take you also as a div. player.

Do whatever it takes to be able to play again in ECL in the next version. But Don`t take this path again.

You`ve seen how it goes, again...and again.

  7. Don't get me wrong.

I'm not that guy who loves to spam pokes and so on. I have less than 25min in penalties, which of 1 is 5min boarding, from over 60 clubgames. And every single penalty I've had was my own fault. I don't blame the game for my own mistakes. And I don't use big figures when building my skater.

I love the fact you cannot spam the poke, after patch you cannot spam the sticklift atleast that much either. Which I see as a positive progression. I see playing in defence more fun than previous years games, you have to be in the right place, doing right things.

I like when skilled (not me) players are able to be skilled, it should be the thing. I loved the release version and beta, when in my opinion, overall play was even faster.

I don't know was it because of the patch or was it just purely bad luck, but as I wrote, last night we managed to get 2 games within 3hrs. And problems in the dressing room. Game was bit laggy. That sucks. Big time. At the time i was writing my previous post, I had paskahalvaus in Finnish, because of the two games in 3hrs.
