  2. LA Announcement: Certain Player Abilities to be banned in eHSM, SCL and ECL '23 Spring

    I'm not sure if I'm a fan of this or not...
    I think it's great that we at least try to see how the game feels without these abilities.

    I love to see Truculence banned tbh because it will (probably) make the gameplay experience much more enjoyable for the skaters. 

    Big Tipper is just a mess and you can still score on deflections so that's fine for me.

    Close Quarters - I don't think that it should be banned after NHL 23 because when you are close to the net I think it should be tougher as a goalie to stop pucks - Just as in real life. But I voted for it to be banned to see what the game would look like without it. (Sorry)

    Unstoppable Force - It was good to ban it to create a balance with banning Truculence.

    Ban goalie abilities? I don't mind. I still use the same stance/abilities and I'm not even sure if it helps me or not.

    Moving forward - I understand that a poll is an easy thing to begin with taking a step to ban abilities but I would suggest to the release of NHL 24 that SportsGamer create a group for Elite/Pro (also a group with the Lite and lower divisions) representives from each team to evaluate eHSM/SCL/ECL.
    To create a fair view of how it feels as a player and work together to be onboard with directions of where we are heading into the future. 

    With that being said - Good luck to everyone participating in eHSM, SCL and ECL!

    I bet you are and that they have. I’m sure LHC will make their utmost effort and you guys too. 

    As to the one person on social media, who he is and the connection to the club itself and the fan base pretty much mirrors my own thoughts about the subject and the point I’m trying to make. It speaks volumes in my opinion. 

    That being said, I’m sure you’ll be successful and get positive viewers as well. We won’t agree on the bigger picture here anyway, it’s my personal opinion that this will hamstring both the entertainment value of the league itself and the interest it strives to create for both a vast amount of participating players and fans.

    There will always be people who loves it and people who hates it. We just have to deal with it and do the best we can to make the oppurtunity with Linköping as successful as possible 💪🏻

    In your opinion. Evidently there’s many who would argue the opposite, players involved in eSHL, others who ain’t participating as of yet and common LHC fans posting on social media. 

    Dismissing the arguments as to being butthurt is just negligent. There’s a bigger picture here and concerns reaching well beyond that. 

    Without rules opinions and actions will be divided. Some would refer to common sense but we all know that won’t work out. 

    Well, we’re happy with our 130+ new social media followers in under 24 hours. Linköping have been amazing with promoting our Twitter. 
     

    You can’t base one comment on Facebook to an entire fan base bud.  We had a bunch of LHC fans in the stream last night also cheering for us.

    Still have to remember that this is a business too. This isn’t some charity project... FILA will give Linköping the best possible way to work with esport and that’s something that was important to the club. 

    As Loimmu said - We’re so excited to get this going with Linköping and to represent them in upcoming international tournaments. It feels great 💪🏻

    Well im not going to participate anyways, but from my experience having selected by a captain that plays in lite or nowhere (= having a little to zero knowledge about players) didnt exactly elevate my motivation with their questionable picks.

    And having the #1 format would be quite heavily leaning to that happening again. 

    So yeah maybe i take this tourney too serious and the SC isnt for me but thats how i think :)

    100% agree!

    If we want NHL as an e-sport to move forward we have to take new steps. 120 euro is basically nothing for a team with a minimum of 7 players imo. 

    Hopefully all 16 teams feel the same way 💸
