  1. BanThemAll +1 But, potentially unpopular opinion for future games: Bring back the pre-made builds from NHL 16 or don't have any builds at all. I personally do not like when the outcome potentially gets decided on your skills of building your character. One may argue that you instead move the responsibility for the meta to the developers but hear me out I draw my eyes to how a game like Rocket League survives - the meta building comes mainly from how the game is played and how skilled you are at handling the mechanics. I am aware that the comparison is not fair due to wildly different games and I do know that the biggest deciding factor to the outcome in our game is how good you and your team plays/can handle the mechanics, but I want to catch the jist of it I want a game where the competitive scene has as little intervention from manipulated stats, RNG and other factors that can be manipulated as possible. Of course RL has their tweaking to stats and what not, but I find it more controlled since the player can only manipulate it to a very limited extent Of course there are other ways to get an edge - like how you set up your game, which hardware you use etc but what I personally don't want is a game where the actual game is to have a setup master race even though it is inevitable. But maybe minimizing it makes for a more even playfield
  2. Several hours in, I feel like the game offers a new perspective and focuses more on team play than previous iterations. Anyhow, these are my observations and comments from playing clubs Bugs and other: Replays sometimes show the opposing teams goals even though your own team has scored Menus in this game are still painfully slow and UI/UX is non-intuitive (e.g. no straight path to dressing room, multiple characters to customize, shop navigation is a mess) Battle pass and the shop - is this really needed? Graphics are constantly glitching in the menus (and sometimes in-game) Synchronization sometimes makes so that it re-starts the games after the following faceoff, e.g. when a goal has been scored Players have weird animations when idle - skewed spine when using the "meta" skating style Improvements and fine tuning: One-timers will probably need to be more balanced in my opinion - seems like goaltenders are freezing at the moment and they don't have many options to save the puck when the perfect one-timer has been triggered. I don't mind at all if this is supposed to be like this, then it becomes a game of taking away the chances but I feel like they could be a litte more fine tuned to give goalies some tools to actually save them Highly personal opinion but I feel the tempo has been tuned down quite a bit which I am not that fond of - probably not something that is easily tuned but maybe for NHL 26?
  3. Södertälje SK Looking for a starting LD (or LW if an interesting option comes up) for the upcoming ECL PM minokin#7100 on Discord for more info!
  4. Södertälje SK IN: @Tuulimylly91 from Gunners HC OUT: @Mjukiiz(Micke_karja) to FA
  5. This hit in a different way, really Thank you for your honesty and it has truly been a pleasure to have you around - mainly as an opponent but also as a temporary teammate on certain nights You made me a much better player throughout the years and I don't know if you really remember that particular series over at Xbox360 but I replaced my brother (Krangis), then representing HC Redballs(?), mid series in what came to unfold into a very tight playoff matchup against Unknown in an attempt to get something going. You were up 1-3 and we managed to take it to game 7 where you scored the decider late in the third period and eventually went on to win the whole shebang if I don't remember incorrectly. Probably my first encounter with a team with such confidence and truly innovative style of playing the game. I had at that point played a whole bunch of EHL but never had I imagined that there were teams so adamant in changing the way in how we play the game on the virtual ice since every team I had represented consisted of friends or people that played for fun. A bit later I found out that you were the mastermind behind all of this and a mystic "bible" with all the tactics was rumoured around the community It was at this point I started closely watching whatever video material that was available on how Unknown played and really studying the game so my point with all this is that your legacy and the impacts of your contributions most likely will not be forgotten With all that said, I wish you a great retirement!
  6. Södertälje SK IN: @Strumpan87, @Svana_22, @benjamint737, @Larsto50 OUT: @rize1988, @pentsaa, @Johansson-37
  7. Great update! But with terms like immediate game situation also comes interpretation. How long is a game situation? Who determines when the game situation is over? Everything that can be interpreted/misinterpreted will be subject for debate, always. Imo, better to have the game stop as soon as someone drops regardless of what happens after and make everything that happens in the game void from that point on granted that you have video to back it up
  8. EDIT: We have found our backup goaltender, however we are now looking for a D-man, see below Södertälje SK is looking for a Defenseman (Preferrably both handed, but RDs will be prioritized) We need a player to complete our defensive core. We have a pair but we need one more to be able to balance out the playtime since our main RD will be somewhat limited. Will be rolling with the main pair as long as they are available but playtime is guaranteed in practice sessions and ECL If you are interested, don’t hesitate to contact @minokin or @HambergD(David_Ovic)!
  9. OUT: @Strumpan87 to Djurgården @svetidaje to Djurgården @Melguss to Calzone HC @el_tacobag to IK Oskarshamn @Markus strandfeldt (Strandfeldt26) to Rögle BK Thank you for everything! IN: @Mjukiiz (Micke_karja) from KAJAK Esports @rize1988 from Almtuna IS @Nille(Nillemans) from Illumination @pentsaa (Kanelipena) from Rookie Mistakes @Swahneen from Norrland Welcome to the family!
  10. SPOT HAS BEEN FILLED, THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST! Södertälje SK (SSK Esports) is looking for a RD for the upcoming ECL Playtime is guaranteed as you will be our main RD but share the ice-time with prospects Swedish players will be favored mostly for the language aspect, but other nationalities are not out of the question as long as the chemistry is there If you are interested, please contact @minokin or @HambergD (David_Ovic) here or on Discord
  11. As I stated in the last article about ECL 12 - Imo, there is no fairness in having wildcard teams. If you disband, then you officially give up your spot and automatically fall down the ladder. It's that simple. But then there is the question of how far you shall fall? Well, since Elite and Pro are the most competitive tiers, would it be strange to fall down to Lite/Core/Neo? Imo, not at all. I think that disbanding teams is a huge issue for the divisional system since it disrupts the "flow" of the relegations and promotions quite a lot and thus needs repercussions. With disbanding, I mean officially stating that you are not going to compete in a tournament with that particular team or it ceases to exist. Changing names and most of the roster is another issue for another day. No disrespect to the teams duking it out in the wildcard battle, many of them are highly skilled and would give even the best of teams a run for their money. But it's just not fair that you can scrap together a team (hypothetically) on a weeks notice and just run into a Pro-qualifier when you already have teams in line, that has had decent seasons in the lower tier. As I also earlier said, by doing it this way, the communitys feeling of a teams skill seems to outweigh the performance of last season. Promoting the next eligible teams in line from the lower tier? Well, that's like pissing on someone and pretending that it's raining. Why not just place them in the qualifiers? If this logic continues to the next season, a bottom Pro-team would have an equal chance of qualifying to Pro just by not playing this tournament and get a Wildcard-spot for the next tournament. No schedualing issues or playing during the summer, ez game ez life. But as stated in previous articles, this is a one-time deal with the qualifiers so this can't happen right? Thank you! And if we had more time: C. No wildcards and Qualifiers for bottom Pro and all eligible Lite-teams (including the ones that are now promoted). Wildcards placed in Lite Fair point and I agree to some extent, but imo I think you should't change the pre-conditions of a tournament when there is merely 3 rounds left, it's just poor judgement. But as I search around for the divisional framework and in particular the info regarding relegation in ECL 11, I only see this side note: *Note: The divisions are still a work-in-progress and NHLGamer reserves the right to adjust the divisions as necessary. Is that referring to this upcoming qualifier or have I missed some info in any of the previous articles?
  12. Wow, just wow. Imo, you already messed up with the announcement of the qualifiers and the timing of the tournament etc., but this is on a whole other level. So how does promoting the next available Lite-team make the qualifiers a fair deal?

    ECL 12 Season Information

A little bit of feedback on all of this: - Informing about a qualification series in the middle of ECL 11 The season (almost) played out fairly but it could have not been a more ill-advised thing to do, mostly because of the fact that it basically alters the pre-requisites of the entire tournament for everyone below Elite - Allowing wild card teams in the qualifiers This is wrong in my opinion, very wrong. We are going in to the 12th iteration of ECL and we have well established frameworks for the league and it must be disheartening for teams in Lite (#10-13) to be denied a fighting chance in favor for wildcards. In other words, the communitys (admins and NHLGamer staff included) perception of a team weighs heavier than last seasons results. Of course you can base it on individual stats, previous team stats from previous tournaments and such, but the data is most likely outdated and there are far more factors that weigh in to be able to make a fair judgement of a teams "skill". But this is my personal opinion, everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion - Scheduling of ECL 12 As J-Foppa said, there must be some factors unknown to us community members that forces the decision to play out most of the tournament during the summer months. Either way, I think that it would have been better to wait until late August or just get on with it straight away. I have been an advocate for strict schedules for some time, meaning that I think that the rules for re-schedualing are way too relaxed as of now. It will most probably be a mediocre tournament since most teams need to broaden their rosters and schedualing will be pure hell due to people not being available, hence the scheduals can't be followed and we are back to square one
  14. Södertälje SK (SSK Esports) is looking for a starting C for upcoming tournaments After a somewhat disappointing ECL, we are looking to bounce back and perform in the ECL Pro qualifications PM for more information!
