We’ll tour all the biggest hockey towns in Finland virtually in order to determine the inaugural Wilhelm eHockey Tour Champion.
Head over to the Wilhelm eHockey Tour site for all the information in Finnish.
The teams have been divided into three groups and the Jyväskylä city tournament will be played in two stages, the group stage and the playoffs. Every team is guaranteed at least five to six games (the group stage), after which the top two and the best (based on PPG) 3rd placed team will continue directly to the playoffs. The remaining two 3rd placed teams will play a BO1 to determine the last playoff team. This will leave us with eight teams in total in the playoffs.
See the full groups over at the league page - here.
In the playoffs, the eight teams will be seeded based on PPG for each round and play a BO1 to advance. The top 3 teams will gain a direct spot into the TOP 32-stage of the entire Wilhelm eHockey Tour, whereas all other teams gain ranking points for participation. Ranking points add up throughout the eHockey Tour and will grant access to the TOP 32-stage for the top five teams without a top 3 city tournament finish.
So, you'll have two ways to gain access to the TOP 32-stage:
- Reach the top 3 in a city tournament
- Rack up ranking points throughout the eHockey Tour in several city tournaments
In terms of how the ranking system works, basically, the higher you finish, the higher you score.
1st 200p
2nd 150p
3rd 125p
4th 100p
5th-8th 75p
9th --> 50p
The highest ranking teams will also receive awesome product prizes from our great sponsors!
Let the action begin and we'll follow along to see who will be the next teams to secure a spot at the TOP 32-stage.
