NHLGamer brings you the ECL Warmup Tournament - Sign up here!

    NHLGamers,

Last season’s warmup tournament received positive feedback, which is why we've decided to continue the tradition this season as well. The ECL Warmup Tournament is a friendly tournament with three tiers for teams to get into the competitive mindset, without the heavy structure that comes with the actual ECL divisions framework. The difference to last season is that we've added playoffs for each tier and we also decided to add a third level for the Neo and newcomer teams to give new interested teams an opportunity to try out the competitive games in a relaxed environment.

    What is the ECL?

The ECL is the pinnacle of European NHL esports. The abbreviation stands for the European Championship League and it features NHL 6v6 esports in five divisions aimed at various skill levels. Every player, including the goalies, is controlled by a human. League games are played in the EASHL mode and the platform is PlayStation.

Before we move on to the details of the ECL Warmup, we want to tackle the big question of when the actual ECL season starts:

    • Registrations for the ECL season will begin in early December
    • Qualifiers are scheduled to be played before the end of the year
    • The ECL season will start in early January 2022

We will share more information about the schedule and other exciting developments early December.  With that said, now is the perfect time to register for the warmup tournament and fine-tune the lineups for the upcoming season!

    ECL Warmup

As stated, the tournament will be hosted in three tiers without any major restrictions except for the ones mentioned below.

    Rules

We hope you all enjoy and remember to play by the ECL rules! Although the Warmup Tournament will not be under as strict scrutiny as the ECL, we want to remind you to respect your opponents and go about the games just as you would when playing real ECL league matchups.

    • The tournament will be played on the NHL 22 PlayStation 4 version

If teams are tied in points after the group stage, we will utilize these usual tie-breakers:

    • Wins (including OT-wins)
    • Head-to-head record (points in mutual games)
    • Goal difference (across all games played)
    • Scored goals (across all games played)

We hope you're as excited as we are to get back into the action - build your team, sign up and have fun!

what about team who played last season in Pro but will play qualifying next season?

Correct me if I'm wrong but according to the signup, teams that play pro qualifier (and wildcard teams) will play Lite/Core Warmup.

Also if you look at the teams that already signed up for each tournament you can see Pro Qualifier teams in the Lite/Core Warmup.

For some reason the captain - who is already on the team - gets an invitation, and as they are already on the team, they get this error when trying to accept. So if you look at your team roster and you're already on the roster, you can just go ahead and decline the invite. We are looking into the root of this extra invite. Thank you.

I just had to invite all the players again in to my team Noe it's working. I think.
