    First answers on "Ask NHL"

    Hey NHL Gamers,

    alongside of the NHL 17 Feature Reveal earlier today, EA Sports have also answered the first batch of questions on Ask NHL. If you want to submit your own question, you can do it on the Ask NHL website. Below is a summary of today's answers:

    General

    • First trailer will be released on June 22nd
    • No PC version
    • As opposed to FIFA 17, NHL 17 will not be using the Frostbite engine

     

    Gameplay

    • Defensive AI was improved to tighten up coverage against players parked in the front of the net or on the weak side
    • No coach challenges
    • No defensive skill stick: EA was discussing this, but did not implement it in fear of taking away control of other mechanics
    • On top of goalie animations, their AI was tweaked to make more use of their body
    • Net battles and extended stick lifts allow to lock up a player in front of the net, making deflections less likely
    • Skating has been improved in regards to momentum, agility and facing angles
    • Authentic jerseys for all national teams

     

    Game Modes

    • No GM Connected
    • No mid-season negotations with players in Franchise Mode
    • 15+ locations for the new relocation feature
    • "Large library" of horns and songs for EASHL, but no chants
    • Create a Team is included

    We as a community (over 1k people) could influence to NHL18 on this autumn and maybe in some small areas about EASHL in this NHL17 version.

    We really, really, really couldn't. Thinking that we could in some way actually influence EA is beyond naive. 

    Does anyone here actually go to EA invite-only events? Because otherwise we're gonna do diddly-fuck-all, especially since EA barely listens to those that go to play tests year after year, let alone some random EU nhl eashl site.

    Oh come on, there's positive thinking and then there's delusional thinking. 

     

    We'll go no where if we're constantly aiming for the stars when we can't get past the trees in front of us.

    I see where this is heading. Reminds me like it was on ps3, u get patch with little changes and they charge u full price. Now that they got this transition over for new consoles, it is going to be like this every year now. I could not play this game at all, so bad input lag and connection problems half a year so I stopped playing NHL16 and lost interest at the whole game. Still wondering if im going to buy new NHL, 16 was so horrible experience for me.
