I think you should consider using this Summer Cup-type Draft-format in regular ECL of course combined with regular, traditional team registering. There could be separate Draft-period between the end of team registration and beginning of season for example one week. This system in addition to that traditional way could bring new players easier to ECL and help also older players to find a team. Of course, there can be unsuccessful drafts (player who won´t fit in team) but there can also be unsuccessful player recruting in traditional team building. To organizers: think about that feedback on drafts in ECL.
