Well, that (disadvantage) has been the case for Finnish teams for years until now. Or it still is, but I think it decreases a bit compared to Swedes. Geographically speaking and knowing the routes.. From Finland, the fiber optic routes to ”Central Europe” can go with two optional routes: From northern part of Finland from Oulu via Sweden/Stockholm via Denmark or Germany to UK. From southern part of Finland from Helsinki to Stocholm via Denmark or Germany to UK. So we have been allways underdogs connection wise compared to f.ex players from Sweden or Germany. Of course depending on where in Sweden/Germany respective players are located. But I could tell every time I have played against teams from those countries, especially when they are home team. But remain to be seen how it is impacting in the future.

New club Reborn Raptors are looking for two defencemen for the off-season and next ECL. Currently we have 3 forwards, 1-2 defencemen and 1 goalie. Our main target is to become a top tier lite team next season. The offensive line has a good chemistry, and we have played one season together already but the defence will be rebuilt before the next season starts. Also, for the offseason we need a RW who can play often it would be a plus if you can play other positions too. A fourth forward and a backup goalie may be needed for the next ECL as well. Versus is p2p so it's completely dependent on your opponent.

Only tried it in Versus but... Before: 20-22 Now: 3 Södertälje, Sweden (about 40 minutes from Stockholm). Felt good.

My connection used to be little bit slower in challenge games but yesterday even the challenge games felt so smooth 👍 In normal games it was smooth also but it was good almost every time before this too. But im happy if my connection stays as smooth as yesterday in challenge games!😎 Nice job EA 👍

I bet if you had 30+, which was 60+ considering the display bug you really notice it. But If you had less already before, change would not be that noticeable.

This is just speculation but there's a chance it'll try to pick the server based on home team's captain instead of middle ground. I guess we'll find soon when international teams use different captains in their EASHL games.

Well, is that going to be the case? That's what I am most curious about: How will games between Swedes/Finns and e.g. Germans or Russians be matched? If these games take place on the new Stockholm (?) server exclusively, there will be serious disadvantages. Or is the matchmaking designed to find a common ground (e.g. FIN vs. GER taking place on the "old" UK server with ~ equal pings for both teams, or US West teams vs. US East teams taking place on the new US Central server)?

I think it's been like this for very long. 30 ms in NHL would've been 60 ping in most games. Of course we're gonna get excited because the connection got reduced to about third.

Whew. 11 ms from Moscow? Considering the map below, the changes maybe have not been in effect yet for us yesterday (as was pointed out already). Probably gonna give it a couple more days and will report back if I see any changes.

🙈🤣 This explains a lot. I don't think that has ever worked properly, as i've had worse connections with lower pings and vice versa. Feels like rolling a dice at this point.

Probably means you still got placed in the old server. Some games will still be like that when the opponent is from Western Europe.

I yesterday had 12 ms in a home game and 32 ms in the next home game with different opponent. Could clearly feel the difference, don't know why so massive change on ping 😕
