Another point of view that makes me worried is that elite players (well known players) now participate in a elite team in ECL and also a swedish SHL team in e-shl and prolly SCL. That should def be against the rules if we want to make our community more competive and give more players and teams the opportunity to grow. In my eyes this creates a bigger skill span than necesary and also make fewer teams able to compete against the best. In the future it got be a rule against participate with different teams in different leagues if we want the community to have a chance to grow. Why name leagues after different nationalities if the players and teams are the same in every league.10 points

I would like to hear more from one of the Unlucky Boys players. They've been together as a unit with mostly the same players for quite a few years now, four straight seasons in Elite - yet its one of the teams and players at least I personally know the least about. So yeah, someone like @Anhel (Anhel_Kuru) or @JimBoo (JM98II) perhaps.9 points

One thing is fact for sure, LHC got awesome group of guys to work with. I've waited this day, well deserved! Y'all need to chill and get your ass down. I hope people are happy with SHL even investing to this at first place. Give them time to learn things, that's the part of the process, you usually learn from mistakes you do at season number one. And hey, we can't really talk or even hope SHL teams doing things with long term right from the start since the future for eSHL is kinda unknown, right? I see SHL teams have used kinda different and careful angles when creating a teams for eSHL, maybe they learn something from this, as I said. If you close Swedish Leagues from Finnish People, or start blackmail people with new transfer rules (so they don't wanna move), then Finnish Leagues will be (need to be) closed from Swedish players aswell. I don't wanna see that, best for the NHLGamer would be that the everyone has possibility to participate. Some kind of roster limits for foreign players in both, Sweden and Finnish League would be easiest and maybe best solution, imo. I still wanna hug @ICappeI or maybe even @jtorro1233 in Finland after Finals and so on. And I still wanna have a chance to go play with awesome Swedes if some team gives me that opportunity! Heja AIK! Heja Malmö! In FCL/eSM there is 99% sure a rule about Swedish orgs. not allowed to participate but it will be probably solved if LHC is FILA and Luleå is NOR, for example. Since you can do new team for those tourneys. My point is, at the moment all the SHL teams with few Finnish players are in good situation since they can participate to every tournament they want and use the same roster all the time. It's good for LHC/FILA at competitive wise and it's not their fault. I just want the game to be fair for everyone, what comes about that who is allowed to participate different tournaments and who is not and etc... There is good talk going on and you can see people care about this, I really hope this thing will go on with a bang! And be even more bigger in future seasons. Just, don't bury it before it even started.3 points

@pierustaerektio Shit, he's no more to be found on NHLGamer. Let's replace him with @Herqqu992 points

Funny to see that it wasnt problem with Luleå.. They are 3/8 Swedish. But we are very happy and excited to represent Linköping and bring more organizations in to this scene! Lets go boys!2 points

In my opinion... there have to be some "rule" about this "loaning" thing. Maybe something like u cant go back to next tournament same team where u left off for one tournament. This would prevent "top players" jumping on these tournaments, when they cant play with their real team in next tournament. And this would keeping these leagues on the right track.2 points

I kind of understand why some people are frustrated and against this move by Linköping, but I personally believe there's nothing wrong here - at least from Linköping's part. As a matter of fact, this will most likely be a great thing for the eSHL as a whole. If there's something that should've been done differently for the upcoming eSHL, it'd be for eSHL teams to have some kind of common ground and criteria or guideline for their teams and how they should be built. As of right now, I see some teams building their rosters purely out of locals and/or having all kinds of players coming in through internet applications and local tryouts. I'm not saying recruiting bunch of Finns (or players of other nationalities) is what these teams should look out for, but I think it's must worse to have eSHL team(s) built out of some beer night tryouts than recruiting an actual team (or have a person who knows the scene build the team). These teams have a huge risk of turning out just like so many FCL, SCL and IS Cup teams that join into the tournament after reading about it on paper, get trashed and maybe even quit mid-way through. And bare in mind, these teams that might get absolutely trashed will be representing an actual hockey organization. They're not like some random group of friends who can leave the tournament after losing 8 games by 10 goals each. Congrats to Linköping/FILA for the signing!1 point

I don't think anyone has anything against Fila or LHC. What we are talking about is that the swedish community became very excited about a swedish league. Considering how the rules for SCL, RCL and GCL are, many got disappointed. And the hype for local teams went down, and I am just talking about the expectations for a swedish league. And the recurring question, how will this be different from ECL Elite(some team from pro..)? And when the limit of teams for this league is so low, it does it even more harder for the swedish community to get involved.1 point

Sweden have europes best 6vs6 team atm as we speak 😈🔥 That's something! But every swede knows that Linköping HC can't win titles as already mentioned 😙 --- @jtorro1233 förväntade mig dock Hytta Flames. Alla vet hur fantastiskt det kan vara en fredagskväll i januari! 😌1 point

👍🏼 There will always be people who loves it and people who hates it. We just have to deal with it and do the best we can to make the oppurtunity with Linköping as successful as possible 💪🏻1 point

Just give credit where credit's due? If there is one team who deserves this opportunity, it's FILA. I'm sure they will to do great and set a high standard for eSHL which will only benefit the league long-term. You don't need to agree with Linköpings decision, but you can wait and see how it goes instead of tearing this whole project to shreds before a single game has been played.1 point

Well, we’re happy with our 130+ new social media followers in under 24 hours. Linköping have been amazing with promoting our Twitter. You can’t base one comment on Facebook to an entire fan base bud. We had a bunch of LHC fans in the stream last night also cheering for us.1 point

Regardless of this debate, I feel like there is huge untapped potential in the Swedish pool of console hockey fans. It would be healthy for the competition at the top to expand. We have some fantastic Swedish players as it is, but the elite playership is more Finn-heavy than I imagine it would be if we got more Swedes to notice the competitive scene. I know hockey is up against football in Sweden and football is more popular, but I'm not sure the current situation is an accurate reflection of the ratio between Swedish and Finnish virtual hockey players. I don't have the numbers to back up this hunch, though. Maybe I'm wrong and playing these games is truly an overwhelmingly Finnish phenomenon. I have no idea which way the high number of Finns in the eSHL will take the league's popularity in Sweden. @keranee said that around 70% of players in the league are still Swedish. That doesn't sound too bad.1 point

The biggest problem is that it kills the hype for the league. If audience etc want to just watch skilled players there is ECL etc. The hype is surrounding the opportunity to watch SHL teams battle on virtual ice. Imo the Swedish Community need to grow. We need new talent and the best way to do so is creating interest around the teams and league. Why even bother with a swedish league if it’s just about having the best teams?1 point
