SportsGamers, This news story is intended to help understand the ECL Ranking for teams at the end of the ECL '25: Spring season. This ranking determines the eligibility for teams entering various divisions this upcoming ECL '26: Winter season. Below you will find a list of teams that have secured a division spot at the Elite, Pro, or Lite league level. If you didn't find your team on the list, don't worry! You can apply for a wildcard spot for your team in the Pro qualifiers or apply to the Lite, Core or Neo divisions, which are open to everyone. Please note that the Qualifiers will be starting very soon and the registration time will be short, so start mentally and psychologically preparing for them as we look to release the ECL '26: Winter registrations later this week. The League Administration reserves the right to interpretations of this depending on the specific circumstances of the situation. What if all Pro Qualifier positions are not filled? Teams will not be promoted straight and all open spots will be filled through qualifiers (excluding automatically relegated/promoted teams). If there happens to be more open spots than anticipated (e.g. from teams disbanding which would have been invited to play in the qualifier) spots are filled as follows: Pro relegated teams Wildcard teams Lite #17-32 The League Administration reserves the right to make adjustments to both the promotion process and the final promotions if deemed necessary. There will be no ECL Lite qualifier for ECL '26: Winter, but a maximum of 64 teams can participate in the season, so signing up on time is encouraged. Spots will be filled in the order of registration. As always, League Administration will monitor sign-ups and reserve the right to step in to make sure teams don't sign up too high or low compared to their perceived skill level. - Today

So it's been some time, and I won't bother to recall all details at this point. My time at SG is in the past but to comment on your point, I was compensated as a freelancer for some of my work at SG, not only limited to being the editor. This was a rather small amount in the grand scheme of things and the compensation was based on other projects outside of the ECL also. I don't have info on other people being paid nor did I have the authority to agree on any form of potential compensation for any work done by other writers. I haven't read through the whole thread so that's as much as I'll partake in any tea spilling but I'll say that the writing was on the wall for a long time already and it's sad it came to this. I'll cherish my time at SG as both a player and editor, even amidst all the chaos. Hopefully the community can pull through. Kenu - keep your chin up!

Three messages from SG but not an answer to propably the most asked question; WHERE has the money gone? Is the companys budgeting this bad? And as an extra question, would SG have addressed that they have not paid stuff on time and/or setup a payment plan without the communitys outroar?

well in Finland you just dont magically forget to submit financial statements to tax authority for multiple years the only thing that comes to my mind for missing statements, is if the Finnish tax authority is conducting VAT audit (for the VAT that SG might need to pay back), but SG hasn't said that this is the reason for the delay.

In France, we often have this problem with lateness. In a company where I worked, they were the same and only got a fine after 3 years. They hadn't posted anything for 4 years. It's something that happens often, even in large groups... either forgetting, etc., yet when I was working, it was going very well!

as you can see, many people don’t even understand where SG’s money has actually gone. they think costs can just be cut here and there, but most of the day to day operations are already done for free and voluntarily. i hope people use common sense discussing this. SG has monthly expenses: office rent, accounting fees, TYEL and YEL contributions, internet and electricity. on top of this, unnecessary costs like penalties(*) can add up suprisingly quickly. SG, according to them, actually lost a significant amount of money when they assumed and applied a 10% VAT rate to license fees — but the tax authority later said that was incorrect, and that they must use 24% (now 25.5%). i don’t want to speculate too much on whether SG has had to make retroactive payments for VAT increase, since I’m not an economist. however, as JakkePlay77 mentioned earlier, it’s concerning that we don’t have any public financial statements for 2023 or 2024. this raises major questions about the company’s profitability and sustainability since it is already 2025 Q4 without public data from 2023 . (*)from what I understand, they received a 1,200 € penalty from the tax authority for the missing public financial statements 6.10.2025 -> couple of days later they announce ECL will be played. ok.

No, I don’t care where players choose to play. But I’m not naive enough to ignore the problems that clearly exist. The main question is still unanswered: where did the money go? My “agenda” is simply that players have been lied to, which they obviously have. But by all means, keep insinuating what my purpose is. What’s yours then? Protecting your friends?

Its obvious, you are trying and wanting to be part of the new league so you're just seeking for problems here. Now when they promized to pay their debts and published dates when their paying, suddenly paying in installmenta is a real issue now also.

Watch out for the Flyerkungens army. He’s standing in the burning house and thinks it feels good. 🤑 I’ve received my prize money before too, that’s not the point. If you actually read their statement, you’d see they are months behind on multiple payouts and are now setting up installments just to pay what’s already owed. It doesn’t take a genius to see that something is seriously wrong when a company has to create a four-part payment plan for prize money that should’ve been paid long ago. So the real question is -what exactly are you yapping about?
